I am starting Mike Sims-Walker over ___________. (1 Viewer)

Since this is a decent spot to ask fellow MSW owners, would you start him over White, Jennings, Austin?Leaning toward benching him for White and Austin. But I am really, really torn.
i also have white, but i won't bench him for MSW. the choice is MSW or AJ... i just put MSW in. who knows how many times i'll flip flop on it this week, though.

I am sitting Pierre T and SSNY in favor of MSW ... although I dont really think that is a very tough choice in a PPR

... anyone! I don't care if Courtland is back, 100% and following MSW around like a lost puppy. With Calvin, AJ, Boldin, Ward and many others looking bad for this week, who could afford to not start him vs Tennessee?

when hes a top 10 receiver, the thread title should be reversed. I am SITTING MSW over ______ as anyone with half a brain is playing him (and anyone who has three better receivers will just be accused of playing in a kiddie-league anyway)

Sims-Walker has a great matchup this week. Every #1 receiver has scored and racked up the yards against Tennessee, including 2 by Sims-Walker in week 4--unless you count Ward as Steelers #1, not Holmes--but Ward still caught 100+ yds. #1 receivers are averaging 111 yds and 1.7 TDs per game. Andre Johnson, on the other hand, is playing against the Bills, who have looked very good vs. receivers. Moss did gain 148 yds, Steve Smith got 99 this last week, but they held Colston to 67. The other four games, they shut down the receivers big time--but they faced teams with poor receivers: Miami, Tampa Bay, and both the Browns and NYJets (without Cotchery) after the Edwards trade. I hate to say it, but that's a tough call. Both have good chances of scoring multiple touchdowns. But I think that after the Bills have kept most receivers out of the endzone all year, Sims-Walker has a better shot. Right now, Sims-Walker is in my lineup over AJ.
Good post. going MSW over AJ too.

I can't really see benching MSW for anybody this week. I keep thinking back to the New England/Titans game. The Jags don't have a comparable offense to the Pats, but I see them throwing the ball all day long.

Since I'm in a Flex league-PPR. I must list RB's I"m starting him over as well.

WR's

Collie, Austin IND WR

Owens, Terrell BUF WR

RB's

Tomlinson, LaDainian SDC RB

Buckhalter, Correll DEN RB

sims-walker over santonio holmes.
Tough call.
Not at all.
Holmes is on a bye, dude. That was as blatantly tongue-in-cheek as I could be.
:spade: You can tell how seriously I thought about putting Holmes in front of Sims-Walker. I never even got far enough to notice Holmes was on bye. Sims-=Walker is tied at WR16 in my TD heavy league, Holmes is tied at WR37. I just listed the 3 guys behind Sims-Walker on my roster.

Man I can only start 2 and Im on the fence about starting him over Jennings I just feel like he is due this week against the vikings, but MSW is getting the ball so much its hard to resist. My other WR is desean Jackson, we get 6 pts per td adn 1 per 10 yrds recieving

So you're starting DJax?I'll probably have this same dilemma every week....do I bench Megatron, DJax or MSW? Unless I hear otherwise regarding his health, I'm benching Megatron. But if he plays Sunday...that matchup Sunday against the Rams looks mighty nice. But as of right now, I'm starting MSW in place of Megatron, Knox and Manningham.

As a matter of principle it's probably a good idea to start healthy guys over injured ones. I have the same dilemma since Calvin looks like he will play. I'd put 5/1 odds that the Toilet Bowl game will be over by the third quarter and Calvin sits out the rest of the game in that scenario. MSW gets the start for me as a result.

Last time I started him he burned me getting benched

This matchup is just too good to pass up though. I have him over Steve Smith (NYG). I just traded for AJohnson so I am starting him over Steve Smith as well.

He may be the #1 ranked WR right now, but after 3 mediocre weeks I am benching Smith. Manningham may not play so that is really making my decision difficult.

he's top 10, probably top 5 this week. sit him at your own risk.
OofEDIT: I started him in two of my money leagues, too ... so this is more like a self-oof than a call-out.
I'm keeping him plugged in.It just looked like Del Rio pulled all the starters at some point. nobody knew the `08 Titans would show up instead of the `09 version.

KC's a heckuva good matchup next week, at Jax, and it won't matter if the `08 version of that team shows up.

Nope. Starters were in there late. Whole offense just sucked. Titans dominated, except for MJD.

i think at this point, the people on here yapping about garrard's/jaguars' road game woes might be right. (i'm glad i listened to them.)

probably best to sit msw on the road (if you have decent options) until something better happens.

I probably should have sat him this week with Finnegan back, but overall I still like him as a borderline 2-3. I was actually afraid he had gotten hurt when I saw the stat line - so at least I have that going for me.

Finnegan was almost as good at shutting down WRs as Asomugha last year. I didn't give him enough respect coming off injury and he plays as big of a part on Tennessee's D as Haynesworth did. He allows them to play different schemes and philosophies.

Yesterday hurt bad, as I had him starting in all 3 of my leagues, but I'm not going to stick him on the bench just yet. He was a PPG MONSTER so far this season. Jags are just a little Jekyl/Hyde and MJD has had stinkers too.

I sat him for Austin - I didn't like that Finnegan was back and the Titans were coming off a bye week, and the Titans were too good not to beat the Jags this week. That doesn't mean MSW couldn't have had points in a loss, just that I had a feeling the Titans matchup was not as juicy as some think.

Is it a home/road thing though? I remember looking up Garrard's splits from last year after reading this thread, and it didn't seem like a significant dropoff, other than a few more INTs. and from 2007-2009, the jags are 10-9 at home, 9-11 on the road. That doesn't seem significant either. I think it's more like the Jaguars just aren't very good, so there will be times where they get totally taken out of their game (whatever that is - was the plan yesterday to hide MJD?), and since teams tend to win more at home those games will more often be on the road.

with another QB this is a 25yds TD reception for Sims Walker (n.11)

:goodposting:
That makes me feel a little better. What a crappy pass. There wasn't anyone w/in 6 yards of MSW.
What a bad pass, totally true.Someone just offered me Garrard for my MSW. Needless to say I turned it down.
just a bit high. great WR have bad performances every once in a wihle.

i thought for sure he was hurt when i saw 2/9 ... and it never changed in the fourth quarter.

It happens, every player is going to have a few duds. Stinks, just gotta roll him out there and hope he torches the Chefs.
