Had a buddy who sold his phone via Gazelle when he upgraded to a new phone. Did not wipe it, at his own peril. There were some private photos/videos on there that should've never made it past his phone with his future wife. Well, they made it onto his Instagram account which was still logged into on the old phone. Whoever bough the phone uploaded all of the photos and videos to Instagram, which was still logged into with his account info, for all of his family and friends to see.

That is, basically, the nightmare scenario.
