I LOVE watching the Detroit Lions (1 Viewer)

What a fun team to watch. Best is something else, Calvin is a freak, they have a potential star in the making in Stafford when he comes back, Suh is going to be a force for years.... I just can't get enough Lions.

When I flip away from the Steeler game during commercials or at halftime, it's the Lions I find myself watching. Plus, they've sucked so badly for so long, how do you not root for them to rise? Unless they're playing Pittsburgh, I'll be rooting for Detroit every week.

I concur.

Love their D-line and I'm anxious to see what Levy can do once he plays next week.

Calvin is a freak and I like Stafford. Best can put on a show. Hope he holds up.

I love watching the Lions when.....

Best is playing well and scoring FF points since I own him in one league and when my other players are lighiting up their secondary to score FF points.

Other than that I can take em or leave em. They have potential and I like the direction they are headed but I'm not sold on Stafford and it becomes frsustrating to me watching them struggle to get Calvin Johnson the ball. I hear what you are saying but their games have not become must see TV for me yet.

Just realized that the Thanksgiving games will be exciting this year.

Pats @ Lions - 12:30

Saints @ Cowboys - 4:15

Bengals @ Jets - 8:20

Lots of offense in the first two games and then probably the most meaningful game that night. Much better than some team rolling the Lions and the Cowboys rolling their opponent.

There is no doubt that you are going to be watching a three ring circus of points out there. We can't stop anyone and people are having a hard time stopping us.

What I'm really looking forward to is, once defenses adjust away from Calvin. Or if they adjust? One of the least heralded stat lines from last week IMO was Pettigrew's 7-110-0. The Lions finally have the ability to sting you for shutting down Calvin at all costs (which in the not so distant past, was the recipe for shutting down the Lions entirely). Once the Lions start seeing a more "straight up look" vs. defenses accounting for the other playmakers here, Stafford/Calvin could be well on their way to becoming Schaub/Andre Part II.

That's gotta be the most potentially entertaining lineup they've had in years.

Followed by some 49ers/Cardinals west coast snoozefest.

Pettigrew and Best's receiving numbers this past week may have something to do with the fact that S Hill was the QB. I don't know if Hill can actually get it to Calvin downfield.

Agreed.

With the emergence of Best, I can see Calvin getting less coverage.

Pick your poison.

Agreed. They just needed a couple of weapons to keep defenses honest. They've drafted brilliantly the last couple years.

They really are a fun team to watch and look like they could be great for years to come if all of these core pieces stay healthy and can play together.Clearly I don't want them winning the division but I definitely would rather it be them than GB or Minny. :-)

I agree this is one of the more entertaining years to watch the Lions, I have always watched them but to see them fight and be competitive in both games so far gives me some optimism.

I always watch when I can, but the Bears game last week was the first time I was really excited and enjoyed watching the team play. Yeah, they aren't that great yet, but at least there's some hope to watch. Losing Stafford hurts some of the excitement. Hopefully they get him back soon so we can see what the offense is really capable of. It's the first time in years they a CHANCE, however small, to win any game. In year's past, it was just guessing how much will they lose by.

A good example of this - Went to Lambeau, as I went to school in Wisconsin, last year and was expecting to get destroyed. Going to the Metrodome Sunday, since I am now in Minneapolis, and am actually excited to see if they can pull something off. Who knows?

They may end up 4-12 or 5-11 this year, but if I were a Lions fan, I'd be happy with that. They were one of the worst teams ever over the last two seasons, you can't expect 10-6 overnight. What you hope to see is a competitive team with no quit who's in every game and pulls a few upsets. If they do that, you're on the right track. Next year, you hope for 7-9 or 8-8. By 2012-2013, you've got a playoff team with legit SB aspirations if you draft well this upcoming April and the one after and manage to keep your key players under contract.

Been down this road many times as a Lions fan. Won't get fooled again.

I thought they looked horrific against the Bears, personally.

Must feel nice to be able to add that. I'm glad for you guys. You should be 1-1.

I love watching the Lions as well. I have been a Calvin Johnson fan since Georgia Tech and love to watch him play. I must say though, he seems to come up small in the biggest spots. He's always the guy who makes a circus catch but only gets one foot down. Or drops the easy TD pass when you think there's no way it can happen. Or as ridiculous as Week 1 was, it didn't surprise me when I saw Calvin come out on the wrong end of that play. It seems like he's just THIS close to being a superstar, but can't quite get there. I know he had a great year a few years back, but there is no reason why this guy should ever put up weeks where he has 2 catches for 18 yards or whatever. He should be DOMINATING week in and week out.

Yes I agree to a point.. They have tons of potential.. I love what Best has shown, he looks amazing but the lack of effort to get Calvin the ball in short passes, slants screens or even end arounds is baffling.. Now with burleson dinged up they better feed calvin.. I want 15 plus targets this week.. throw it up to him

I am a Lions fan and they have been unwatchable for three years. Absolutely no reason to tune in. This year is pretty exciting. They may not win a lot of games, but they will have a chance every game. Best is fun to watch.

Lions fans should be excited. I was talking about them all offseason, as I thought they really made some nice moves.

This team is on the rise. I expect in a year or two they'll have really arrived.

I find Best is too good to be true and wonder what will be his undoing. The playmaking from this kid just doesn't seem real to me.

(sorry, I've been conditioned to expect the worst)

Folks should love watching The Detroit Lions since opposing fantasy players starting against them go off every week. Forte and Cutler in week 1 & Vick and McCoy week 2. This has been the fantasy trend for many years now so Detroit is always entertaining to watch.
