I was just hosed in the Waivers, Commish claims I'm confused about (1 Viewer)

OK, I was just going to let this die, but I'm not letting my name get drug through the mud any further.

I'm a very reasonable person. Had this guy just come to me like any other sane person in this world I'd have handled it much differently. People tend to lose sight of the fact that being a commissioner can be a huge pain in the a## sometimes. It's a very thankless job and when you have to deal with someone complaining at every opportunity you get sick of it. Now, I know my wording in the rules was wrong. I have no problem admitting that. The thing with this guy is the past experiences with him. So, before he even started running his mouth I was already on the defensive. He was sarcastic and rude to me when I tried to talk this out with him in the league chat this morning. If he'd have just brought it to my attention and asked for a league vote, this whole thing would have been settled already.

The straw that broke the camel's back though was when he brought this issue to the Shark Pool trying to start a lynch mob. And EVEN THEN I made a post in our league forum asking for feedback from the league members on whether we should have a vote on the situation or not. Even after him publicly embarassing me and league, I still tried to get this resolved.

The fact remains....outside of reversing the whole waiver processing, there is nothing I can do. It's either have one guy upset or 10 other guys. I screwed up and I admit that. If I could take it all back I would.

Now, if this could all die, that'd be great.
Commish.. I did point this out to you and the league at 8:30 this morning... at 9:43, you shut it down w/ this replyDate Thu Sep 11 9:43:17 a.m. ET 2008

"There was not an error in the waiver wire order used last night. After reading over the wording used in the rules, I can see how it would have been misinterpreted. I have cleaned up the wording so that there should never again be an issue with it. My intention for the rule was reflected in the WW order that was set and had been on the league main page since Friday.

After writing up the rules, there was bound to be something that didn't come across the way I intended for it to. I'm sorry for any confusion that this caused."

Afterwards.. I created this thread to seek a little support from a public forum of Fantasy players.

You make it sound Like I didn't even try to resolve this w/ you...
Seriously, can you guys get a room?

oh doowain, please tell them at what else I have complained to you about...

are you refering to the time of the rookie draft, when you rules didn't say that there was no waivers until after game 1... you just assumed that I knew that because thats how it was done last yr, is that the other time I complained too for you?

Then I reminded you that I wasn't in your league last yr.

and I'm the rude one

This seems to be a reoccurring theme with you man. That 2nd thread is particularly brutal. I'm convinced you are an a## now. Not just a guy in a bad mood. And these 4 threads were pulled out of looking through exactly 6 pages of your threads, so there may be more. Why are you so mad at everything and everyone?

That 1st one.. I gave props to MFL for a great job at the end. Guess you didn't read the entire thingThat 2nd one is proves why you don't have a rule that states "No Draft pick will be Undo", That was my big deal there.. no one seemed to listen to me on that... Even one of the founding fathers to the thing agreed w/ me.

Whats wrong w/ the 3 & 4?

This is just immature for you to do... you have just shown me your true colors.

There is no denying that the OP got hosed. The fact that nobody else complained is irrelevant. Why would they complain when they would lose their player/position if they did? Half the league probably improved their position thanks to the mistake.

There is also no denying that the Commish used his personal bias toward the OP in refusing to make a change. It doesn't matter how many complaints you do or don't get. Right is right. The commish admitted he screwed up, and now refuses to fit it.

The OP owes this league nothing-- no courtesy, no respect and no commitment to good or fair gameplay. It wasn't shown to him (and he was attacked personally) so he should basically do whatever he wants with his team. I wouldn't normally advocate that, but I've never seen a case where a commish admits he's wrong but basically calls the owner a tool and says deal with it. Never. It's pretty surreal. Just because he thinks the guy is a tool doesn't mean he can screw him over.

Finally, the OP really is a tool. That's no escuse for refusing to fix a mistake...but it's absolutely true. You're shaking over a $75 league? Or any league? Get a grip. You need to play LESS fantasy football. You need to establish some boundaries and priorities in your life. You complain way too much. I saw the other posts but I remember another one a long time ago. I wouldn't hold it against you if a mistake was made, but I'd hope you quit because you're a full-time complainer.

You should win the battle but you're seriously losing the war. Please stop giving yourself $1500 worth of heartache over a $75 league. Resolve to have $75 worth of fun instead or just walk away. You're absolutely right about this situation but I think something is wrong.

I wrote all that not to be mean, but to offer you some long-term perspective.
