Draft:

C Johnson (moved from #5 to #9 for extra 9th rd pick) - great move

Westbrook

FWP

DJax

McNabb (great late pick QB till hurt)

L Evans (excellent #3 WR - I stuck with him)

Duece,J Lewis, A Green as back up RB's (very stocked - never played them except on a bye)

Struggled at Def/K for a bit but scored plenty - no depth at WR which almost killed me

Filled in w/ V Young and Harrington on Turkey day (that was a shark move when he came back to Det to light them up)

My playoff opponents choked - but I still won the games

One more cold Guiness and I'm done!

:own3d:

I won two leagues tonight. Next week I have the chance to win my third championship!!!

I did it by having Gore on my team.

Drafting LT at #3, FWP in Round 2 and Vick in Round 10. I won this weekend by benching FWP in favor of Betts.

YEAH Baby YEAH...I won...and it's due to hard homework and being a paid member of FBG's..of course in 5 leagues and only won one ..most sharks are in 6-7 and win one..HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL! :own3d:

I did it by drafting Daunte Culpepper in the 3rd (two QB league) and Matt Jones in the 5th.

I did it by winning my first two, then dropping five in a row.

I did it by basically half giving up at 2-5 because work was crazy hectic and my team had a bit of bad luck, but was average at best.

I did it by somehow hanging around because our league (against my advice) didnt want to put in wild cards, and my division SUCKED.

I did it by finishing FIVE AND EIGHT (yup, 5-8) to sneak into the playoffs (12 team league, 3 make it from each division, top two get byes and money bonus).

Then, my team which granted, was better than 5-8 (but how much better can you be?) rode Manning, Garcia and Parker to the superbowl, and got lucky when my opponent had to pick Ronnie Brown or S. Morris... and chose wrong.

Oh, and did I mention I played A. Battle as a late pickup over Furrey? :own3d:

So,

Manning

Garcia

Parker

Green

Driver

M Clayton

A Battle (in place of Furrey... :D )

Sheffler

Miami D

And a stroke of luck.

5-8.

Worse Champion Ever.

2000 bucks richer.

I won my league championship this week with these starters. I was already down 29 points going into this week since it is a 2 week championship game.

Peyton Manning

Larry Johnson

Maurice Jones Drew

TJ. Houshyomama

Donald Driver

Ben Utecht

Shayne Grahm

Baltimore Defense

I put up 140 points and he only put up 88. Sorry I am a champion!

Drafting LT and TJ. Won one league tonight (got LT as a gift at 1.04) and won a trip to the finals also with LT (at 1.1) Rode FWP and Rudi as RB2s (traded Fitz for Rudi) and benched them both this week for MJD and Betts. Had mostly consistent production from WRs all year for the first time in years. And survived poor play from Eli and Rex. Rode the WW with info from FBG and most importantly had a TON of luck come my way. Now, let's see if I can surviv in the finals with LT possibly sitting out some of next week's game...

I don't have this much of an imagination. When I got in at 5-8, by losing my last two, mind you, I warned the league that Karma and their refusal to give into a logical Wild Card (we will have one next year though  ) would take over and it was destined that I would become the WCE.A belt I hold proudly. LT2 Owner? Gone first week of playoffs.LJ Owner? I beat him first week with huge Willie Parker and others efforts. Shaun Alexander Owner? Barely missed the playoffs. We tied pathetic records but I had points. All it took was a poor team, bad luck, terrible team management and a billion and one things go my way and bingo - recipe for winning.

Yeah #1 - Drew Brees in the 10th round of my redraft league+ Stephen Jackson (no brainer at 1.05 but he was the key. solid every week) + TO + MJD with a very late pick

Yeah #2 - Trading down like a mofo in a ppr dynasty league and drafting Gates + 4 good WRs + getting Fred Taylor, MJD, and Ahman Green very late.

I did it with quite possibly the worst collection of players to ever win it. I picked from the 4 spot in a 10 team league, draft went like this:

1-Tiki

2-FWP

3-Randy Moss

4-Housh

5-Driver

6-CPEP

7-Jamal Lewis

8-Kennison

9-Tatum Bell

10-Delhomme

11-Cooley

12-J.Norwood

13-Braylon

14-Bobby Engram

15-Shane Graham

16-Ravens D

Keys were numerous. I started 1-4 and went 10-1 the rest of the way. Picked up Grossman off the FA list, but never started him. Traded him and Tiki for Carson Palmer and Chester Taylor after week 5. That was 1 thing that got me kick started. Traded Tatum Bell for Antonio Gates, which, although probably a wash, upgraded my TE spot immensely. A number of HUGE games from the Ravens D came in handy. FWP down the stretch. I hit Chester when his schedule got weak, and when he went down, Jamal Lewis started playing better when I had to start him. Shane Graham kicked a boatload of FG's vs. Indy in round 1 of the playoffs to save my skin and the Dolphins D held Laverneus Coles to 9 yards tonight to give me a 3 point victory.

Starting lineups for my team and team I played in Super Bowl:

Me:

Palmer

FWP

Taylor

Driver

Housh

Edwards

Gates

Graham

Ravens

Him:

Hasselbeck

LT2

Gore

Boldin

Roy Williams

Coles

Shockey

Vinatieri

Patriots

I was a HUGE underdog and escaped. Just goes to show, it can be done without an LT or LJ or similar stud. Very fun year! Named my team Nueve Y Sinco after week 7 in honor of Chad Johnson and what I expected my record to be at the end. Here's to football and here's to twins!

Smoke and mirrors baby...

I won MOX HP III

Delhomme/Romo...picked up Romo before the season started as a FA

D. Foster and FWp as my RBs, with Fargas as my secret weapon this week.

Harrison, Mush, Toomer, Bryant Johnson and my #1 pick GATES

Rayner as my PK

and my ace in the hole, my 4th round pick that i was laughed at for...

BEARS D

8-5 in regular season, although 2nd in the legue with points against, and then an amazing 3-0 run with Harriosn leading the way.

And i beat ravnfan to win the league.

Smoke and mirrors baby, thats how I roll.

I won because timing is everything.

In a 14 team league, I squeaked in as the #7 seed (8 team playoff), with only a 7-6 regular season record, despite being 3rd in points.

In the first round, I won 104-87. The next week, in the consolation bracket, the same team had 146 points.

In the second round, I played the guy with Rivers, McGahee, Fitzgerald, Colston, and the Chicago D. I won 94-76. In the first round, the same team had 125 points.

In the final this week, I played the owner with Brees, Gore, and Tomlinson in the championship game. This guy's team had averaged 124 ppg in our scoring system over the past 8 weeks, with no score below 98. He scored only 87 points this week. I won 100-87.

I started Romo, Rudi, Bush, TO, Holt, Mark Clayton, Heap, Gramatica, and the Chargers D in the final. I also had Vick and Ronnie Brown, who started most of the season for me.

:lmao:

See the topic starter said say yeah if you won your league...problem is this is the the SHARK POOL in FBG's....and as always we need a LINK..for your facts! :lmao:

Key point in the season...trading a 5th round pick for Cooley prior to our trade deadline!!!!! after suffering through injures/suckiness of Culpepper, LaMont Jordan, Chambers, and finally in the end Kevin Jones, I mananged to squeak through our 4-team playoffs to the championship!!! (12 total teams in the league).

Starting lineup:

David Garrard

LT

The Burner Michael Turner

Chad Johnson

Chambers

Arnaz Battle

Chris "MVP" Cooley

Nate Kaeding

I won 1 out of my 4 leagues. Finished 2nd in another. Can't complaing too much about that (odds-wise) but I still strive for better. But couldn't have done it without FBG. Thanks all!

YEAH!!

16 team / limited keepers / PPR

1. LJ, Dante Hall = keepers from 2005 (KR points are big in this one.) They took the place of my top two picks.

2. Palmer = 3.10, Alge = 4.05

3. SA = traded MJD for him while SA was injured. Marvin = trade deadline deal for a 5th rounder next year.

Added Scobee at some point, had just enough depth to cover byes - Fred Taylor, Chris Henry, Greg Jennings, Jerramy Stevens.

Went 9-4, top scorer, beat the three other best teams record-wise in the playoffs.

Most of all, my team stayed healthy.

Will enter next year with LJ, SA and either Palmer or Marvin.

Previoulsy I had lost 4 superbowls and people were calling me marc Levy and the buffalo bills...

Well I won by scoring my lowest output of the year... simply because the guy I played stunk it up!

Yeah.

Keep 3: LJ, Rudi, and took a gamble on Javon Walker over Andre Johnson. That paid off.

Then I picked Randy Moss in the draft  , Tatum Bell, and then Plaxico Burress--amazing value that late. Randy was dropped near the end of the season, other than him those 5 others were the "core" of the team. Every other position changed several times.

I'm a waiver wire nut, and I really think that's overlooked in Fantasy--you can make up a lot of ground by playing short-term matchup advantages. I made 44 add/drops. No other team had more than 25. Some as few as 10. The biggest one? When my QBBC fell apart, McNair had been dropped--he had 2 games of negative points, then a bye week in the 7th. I grabbed him and he started for me every week after week 8. Over that time span, he was QB7 overall. Not bad for a free agent--he'd outscored Eli, Brady, Vick, and Rivers in weeks 8-16 in my scoring system (heavy INT penalty).

I had the LT owner in my division, but got lucky enough to face him on LT's (and LJ's) bye week, the rest of my squad picked up the slack over his lack of depth. Went 5-0 in the division, then 1-2 in interdivision play. Returned to go 4-1 (the only loss to the LT owner when I'd already clinched the bye). Faced off vs. the LT owner the third time in the Division Title Game, and beat him even with McNair in my lineup but not playing.

Yeah, I beat the LT guy the week he scored 31 with 0 from my QB, and by enough of a margin even LJ didn't have to play, either. The LT owner's RB2 went down, and his replacement was an RBBC guy who's #1 was coming back strong. Defensively I picked up every worthwhile RB to block--thankfully including Ron Daynye--and without a good RB2 and a lack of WR depth, it was on to the title game, where I faced the other MVP candidate, Drew Brees. His whole lineup fell apart this week--Brees, Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, MB3, Tiki--while everyone I had except my TE, K, and D scored at least 1 TD. Rolled over him 93-24.

The nice part was going 10-1 overall in the division, beating everyone twice. Our divisions are geographic, 6 guys are East Coast alumni, 6 of us are West Coast, so I'll see the guys I beat up on all year long and be able to rub it in.

Yeah! :lmao:

Final roster in sig, but the core remaining from the draft that was key to the title was:

S. Jackson

R. Bush

D. Driver

L. Coles

R. Williams

L. Evans

T. Heap

With 1 PPR scoring, Jackson and Bush in particular were major contributors, much more so than they would have been without PPR.

Never came close to being able to swing any decent trades during the season, so had to deal with injuries and replace non-performers off waivers all season. FBG's info was crucial in evaluating the talent remaining on waivers each week.

The QBBC I drafted (Brooks and Delhomme) quickly showed that they weren't going to work out, so Brooks was waived after week 1, and picked up Kitna and Pennington to go with Delhomme, and played matchups most of the year. As the playoffs approached, dumped them and Delhomme, picking up Young and Garcia and starting them through my playoff run.

D/ST occupied only 1 roster spot for most of the season, and didn't draft any "keeper" D, intending instead to work the waiver wire for the best matchups each week. As the end of the season neared, started waiving position players and stockpiling a few D's from waivers with the best playoff matchups early so that I wouldn't get beaten to them the week I would need them most.

That strategy led me to a 7-6 regular season finish (#3 overall in fantasy points) and earned me the #4 seed in our 10 team league, out of 6 teams that go to the playoffs.

In the quarterfinals round, demolished the #5 seed (Romo/Betts/MBIII) by a score of 143-74.

In the semifinals, beat the #1 seed (Brady/LJ/Alexander) by a score of 95-85.

In the championship, smashed the #2 seed (Brees/LT2/Westbrook) by a score of 130-82.

Couldn't have done it without all the excellent info FBG provides each week.

Since folks seem to be interested in links for confirmation, our league is here, and my team is the "Dallas Champs". Seems I picked the right name for my team!

BOOYEAH!! :banned: :banned: :banned:

10 Team league with buddies from high school. I always seem to get one of the last 2-3 picks in any league im in, and in this one I picked 10th, yes last, had the 3rd best record at 8-5 in the league (missed bye by a game) and went on to win 3 in a row in the playoffs because I had and have had the whole season the secret ingredient to FF success: CONSISTENCY

Start: QB, 2RB, 2WR,RB/WR flex, TE, K, LB/DL, DB, DEF flex

Scoring: 4/passTD, 6/rush-recTD, 1/60ydspass, 1/40tdsrush, -2/int, -1/fumb, +2/100yds r/r or 300pass, .5/tkl, 3/sack, 1/PD, 2/FF, 1/FR

Key picks:

#10 - Rudi - would've taken him at 5 if I was picking there but got lucky he slipped to me with value

#11 - RBrown - expected better things, esp. in TD category, but solid while healthy

#30 - Wayne - liked for his consistency, clearly best on board

#31 - Burress - felt solid w/ current RB's and wanted another consistent, TD-getting WR I could count on

#50 - Gore - one of targeted RBs whole draft, thought he'd slip to this pick and got lucky that he did (best

move of draft)

#70 - RoyW - thought this was another steal, huge for me in middle of season, didn't start for me last 4-5

weeks of it though

#90 - JTaylor - IDP's didn't really start going until round 8-9 (this was first year most of us did an IDP

league) and looks like I got the deserving defensive MVP

#110 - AdrianWilson - since fist yr IDP, this guy def slipped through the cracks as I thought he would and

grabbed him with joy

Key WW move: No doubt picking up MB3 after week 4. Saw he seemed to be getting GL carries, liked their offensive ability to get it to red zone, and MBell wasn't doing jack. Certainly wasn't expecting even 10 TDs. great surprise, great pickup. Honorable mentions: Rivers, VY, Gould

Achilles: Def QB play. I almost drafted Bulger instead of Roeth in the 10th round, but the homer in me took Roeth. Had I taken Bulger, I would have cruised through the year. Sucked even more because 5 minutes after this choice I went back and forth b/n, I hear on the news in the other room he just had surgery :yucky:

Key to winning: WR consistency. RB consistency is one thing, but WR is usually much less consistent. Usually it;s only those Top 5 or so that can produce like that, but Wayne and Plax were strong nearly week in-week out the last 10 weeks of the season. I played the whole year with only them and RoyW and that was big because it allowed me to carry more QB's (my weakness) and make more moves to boost my team elsewhere.

Keys to not winning: Injuries. Biggest injury was to Brown, and didn't really hurt me at all because of who else I had. Big reason why I won.

Current team is in signature. If you don't believe the hype, then I wil gladly leave a link :D

Needless to say, Im 200$ richer (which is a lot for an astute collegian like myself) and should help me out with bar tabs over the holdays and break, and hopefully longer! :banned:

Also won another league with this squad in an 82-80 squeaker this week:

QB: Vick, VY (almost lost after starting Vick  )

RB: Rudi, FWP, MJD, Chester

WR: Wayne, Berrian, Henry, RMoss

TE: Davis (right now at least)

K: Gould

DEF: KC (shark move pretty much won it for me this time :lmao: )

But my main league is what I'm most ecstatic about because now for the next 2 weeks especially, and next 9 months overall, my homeboys will be eating crow as I remind them who won the league this year. Even better than the $$$

HELL YEAH

I did it all at the draft (auction), got every player well below value with excrutiating patience. Tried out something new this year and completely avoided any "first round" picks, filled up with depth and upside instead. Figured if I hit on one or two picks I'd be gold.

Key steals: GORE, Kitna (start 2QB), AGreen, Evans

None of those guys were in my starting lineup week 1 but I rode them all the way to the SB.

YEAH :lmao:

Didn't have the year I thought I would...choked in three playoff games. The league I won was great though, because I successfully defended my title from last year.

Thought I was a goner in the final, but his team choked. This particular league is only a 10 team/auction league. I used pretty much the exact opposite strategy as I used last year when I won.

This was my lowest total score for the year. I actually started out 1-4 and won out the rest of the season.

My starting roster for the Championship was:

Brees stunk it up

LT

R. Brown this was the best because I stuck with my gut and didn't buy that Morris was going to take most of the carries. I would have lost with Morris.

Harrison :banned:

Yeah. Second consecutive year winning my league.

Just outdrafted people on draft day. Only one other guys team was as good as mine (and arguably better) but he got unlucky in the first round of the playoffs and went out.

Jones-Drew, Betts, and LJ really helped me out in the finals.

2nd consec championship

big move trading a 2nd pick for SJax at the deadline who went off this weekend.

however steve smith didn't help w/ a big fat 0

plus 0 injuries w/the execption of Simms (my backupanyway)

I won this year by being smart enough to retain LT (which of course no one would have though to do). I did great with my Rb's FWP and Gore (6th round pick up) and WR's Harrison, Williams, and Driver in rounds 3-5 and Colston (picked up after week 3). I also resisted the urge to trade Gore for less than value as at the trade deadline even though I had not played him much this year-in weeks 15&16 he was great. I live with Vick, Desmond Clark and Patriots D which weren't great but were good enough. Sometimes I tend to fall into the trap of wanting to be great at every posistion

Simply put the draft was what made my team this year I. I think the Projections Dominator helped me put together a good draft plan. Projections are guesses but they give you somehing to value players with other than names (FWP, Gore, Driver even Roy Williams I didn't see as name players but I did see they would be productive base on what they and thire teams have done in the past some of that was helped with FBG advice).

Just pulled in my third league championship in a redraft league that's been around ten+ years with the same owners.

Draft: Drafted #1 (1st time in 6 years) and took LJ. Then took the best players available next 3 rounds (FWP, Palmer, Santana Moss). Then focused on getting young RBs w/potential like MJD, Maroney, and DeAngello Williams. Didn't care much about other receivers (no ppr), so I was able to get ones like Jennings, Cotchery, Caldwell, and Bruce late.

Season: Througout the season I moved those young RBs I drafted to fill holes in my roster. De Williams went for Desmond Clark. Maroney went for Grossman (after I traded Palmer for Chad J). I did my homework, played matchups, didn't panic or overreact to one week highs and lows, stuck with who worked (for receivers this mean TARGETS - Cotchery & Bruce, and came out #2 in points for the season and won my division.

Luck: I won in the playoffs because LJ & MJD scored and LT didn't. That's the nature of FFB.

also, w/trades I made last year to win, I went into this draft short 2 extra picks (a 3rd and a 7th) and my draft still won me it again. GB brees in the 7th rd

2 leagues, 2 championships. Thanks FBGs. Basically, it was Gore. Also, I defeated LDT in the finals of both leagues, so having him not score for the first time in a long time helped. In one league, I'd like to thank Jerricho Cotchery for stretching over the goal line & getting that call overturned. If that call would've stood, I probably would've strangled someone. I would've wound up losing by ~2 points ... hence the strangling.
