DISCLAIMER: One thing this thread isn't or should be, is a WDIS thread. This isn't supposed to be a call for help. This is supposed to be a thread for people to post the tough lineup decisions they've ALREADY MADE or are expecting to make. Joe has already gone on record to say this thread has value but will be on a short leash if a bunch of us turn this into WDIS questions. Please post your calls, not your questions!

Last week was a good fantasy week as most tough decisions yielded good results. Let's see what I have stewing this week...

Chad Pennington over Rex Grossman and Alex Smith - I was tempted to put Smith in, but Pennington's been playing rock solid and the Bills could come up flat this week after a big win over Miami. I'm thrilled to have Rex on this squad, but I'm a believer in the new-look Vikings and expect a hard fought, low-scoring game there.

Chester Taylor over Willie Parker - Extremely tough call here. You hate to start any back against Chicago. But until I see Parker get into the groove, I'll take my chances with Chester because I know at the very least he's gonna get mondo touches.

Deion Branch over Steve Smith, Chris Henry, Travis Taylor - Not a major call here, but needless to say I'd gladly put Branch on the bench if Smith can keep his hamstrings in his pants.

Visanthe Shiancoe over Antonio Gates, George Wrightster - Nobody is talking about Shiancoe and maybe that's because everyone expects Shockey to play on Sunday. But Shockey looked awfully gimpy on that ankle last week and the Giants-Seahawks game is bound to turn into a track meet. Depending on how/if Shockey practices this week, I may pick up Wrightster.

Byron Leftwich over Steve McNair - McNair should have his best stat line of the young season this week against a banged up Browns secondary. But if the Jags have any shot of beating the Colts, Leftwich is going to have to throw early and often to keep pace. 300+ yards for Lefty this week should be a lock. Hopefully Matt Jones' groin can stay loose.

So what are you stewing over this week?

Steve Smith over Joey Galloway.

I have a feeling that Smith will be questionable and end up playing on Sunday. My decision will then be between Smith, who could blow up for 120 yards and two scores, or Galloway, who had 161 yards receiving last week.

Obviously, my concern would be that Smith gets the start and pulls up lame after a few sprints down the field, as compared to Galloway, who is less of a receiver, but is playing healthy.

I am going with Smith, probably because I feel that he owes me after two weeks of zero production.

My "tough choices"

Team A:

Kurt Warner over Roethlisberger

Braylon Edwards over Lee Evans and Jennings (very tempted to go with GJ here)

Mike Patterson over Kevin Williams

James Hall over Justin Smith

Bob Sanders over Madieu Williams

Team B:

Lee Evans over Michael Jenkins

Desmond Clark over Shockey (Who woulda thunk it?)

Team C:

Eli over Pennington

Kevin Jones and D-Will over Thomas Jones

Chambers over Keyshawn

Team A:

Gore over Dunn (gotta ride the hotter hand)

Kitna over Delhomme & Alex Smith (feeling that this is the week for kitna)

Team B:

Favre over Alex Smith (hoping for a shootout Det vs GB)

Team C:

Bush and Dunn over McGahee, Foster and Maroney (monday night battle...i've been oscillating between Dunn and McGahee, riding the reggie bush bandwagon for at least one more week)

Roy Williams over A. Bryant and D. Jackson. (again, i think this is the week detroit scores via the air)

I am also stewing over FWP vs Chester. It's very close.

I am probably going with FWP. I expect the Steelers to rebound & deidacte to the run.

I drafted Chester, figuring he'd start very slow due to his schedule & he's looked great. Just not sure this is the week for him to keep it up.

Thinking about starting Matt Hasselbeck over Peyton Manning. I know the rule about "never benching your studs", but Hasselbeck is almost stud status as well and has a much better matchup.

Am I crazy?

I'm starting Thomas Jones over Matt Jones in the flex this week. It's a super easy matchup for me, and I want to be able to watch TJones and Des Clark.

I am starting:

Dunn and Bush over Caddy Williams. (This will likely remain to be true for a considerable amount of time.)

Leftwich over Plummer.

Simms over A. Brooks

I'm wondering if the 0 from Brooks might be better than the negative points I'll probably get from Simms. Ok, maybe I exaggerate a bit, but still :bag:

And before anyone says anything, the only starting QB on the wire is KFC (Kerry F'n Collins) :X

I'm actually starting Sexy Rexy over Chad. While the Vikings look improved, I think the Bills have tougher (or at least as tough) defense. Chad and Coles are banged up a bit, and most of Chads big plays are dump offs where the receiver makes something happen after the catch. Might be tough against a speed defense like Buffalo.Very close call between the two.

Here's what I currently think I'm doing:

start Kitna over Pennington - I like DET at home against a weak GB defense to bounce back, Kitna has played well, albeit not scored much. Pennington is on the road against a decent BUF pass D with a gimpy L Coles.

start Gore and Fred Taylor over Cadillac. Fred Taylor seems like a must-start against the Colts. JAX needs to control the ball and I think IND can be run on. I gotta ride the hot hand with Gore over Cadillac even though Caddy looks like he has the better matchup on paper. I'd like TB to show some signs of life before Caddy starts sniffing my starting lineup.

start Chad Johnson and A Bryant over Driver and T Williamson. I really like Bryant this weekend against PHI. The Eagles DBs are just not very good right now and they lost their best pass rusher last week in Kearse. SF handled the blitz pretty well last week and SF is at home, so crowd noise shouldn't be a problem for the offense. CJ is a weekly start if healthy. I will play Driver if CJ is not going because GB should score more against DET than MIN will against CHI. I really like my depth at WR but have difficult decisions each week.

going nuts over Ahman Green or Chester Taylor in a non PPR league. I think Green has a better matchup against the Lions, but Taylor seems to be much more consistent and Childress said he wants to keep giving him the ball.

League 1 - 12 teams - Starting Chester Taylor, Thomas Jones, Burress, Bryant, and Andre Johnson. Keeping Barlow, Foster, and Moose on the bench, although I think there's a decent chance for Barlow to have success and score this week as the starter.

League 2 - 14 teams - Starting Cotchery over Barlow and Toomer in my 2nd flex spot. Still might change my mind there.

League 3 - 12 teams with PPR - I'm starting Edge, Kevin Jones, Thomas Jones, Harrison, and Bryant. Leaving Cotchery and Barlow on the bench, although I'm tempted to get Cotchery in there. Just don't want to start him over the guys I already have starting.

I'm flip-flopping on this one...

For now I have C. Taylor over D. Foster or Deuce

and Santana Moss over Antonio Bryant.

I'm trying to stick with that "play your studs" theory but the Brunell to Moss connection hasn't been very promising thus far.

Is A. Bryant against PHI really the better call over Santana against HOU?

Absolutely IMO. I love Bryant this week against PHI - he and Alex Smith have some nice chemistry going and PHI's pass defense has been brutal thus far. I would wait for the 'skins offense to get in sync before considering Moss a must-start stud.

TO has a bye so im stewing over my 2nd and 3rd WR. Got Chad Johnson as my #1, although he is playing Pitts, still a chance to score every week. My WR to choose from are... B. Berrian, D. Bennett & Ma. Jones. So far I have Berrian and Jones starting. Although Bennett is getting alot of targets and looks, Tennessee are just downright ugly and I like the matchup Jones will have against Indi. Berrian could have another productive day against Minn if Grossman continues as he is going.

Having a tough time with the following, but am looking to start:

Favre over Pennington and A.Smith

Deangelo over Deuce (PPR league)

Engram over Ma. Clayton and D.Carter (will lean to Carter if S.Smith is out)

Right now starting ROY over Cotchery, based on the above observation (guess, hope) that the Lions will actually score against the Pack.

Michael Jenkins over Drew Bennett, Keyshawn Johnson, and Isaac Bruce

Desmond Clark over Randy McMichael

I can understand your thoughts on this BUT...Jets have not been able to Run the ball, THUS creating more opp for Chad to toss the rock more.

Bills have no been able to stop the run. They did fairly well against Miami ONLY because miami has the worst Offensive Coordinator in the NFL, BARNONE. Its uncontestable. R.Brown running at almost 6 yards a clip... lets run him TWICE in the 2nd half. Malarkey = biggest idiot in NFL.

If the Jets can get some running game going, and witnessed in the Patriot game, they will continue to try and run even if it was innefeective for a period of time.

I hear ya. I just have not seen the Jets establish the run to the point where Chad's pass attempts are going to be adversely affected. The choice is between Pennington and Alex Smith for me. I'm going with Pennington until he proves otherwise. But production is production, and right now, Chad is really producing. But I do think Alex Smith should have a solid day and I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see him post better numbers against a banged-up Eagles team.

Michael Jenkins over Drew Bennett, Keyshawn Johnson, and Isaac Bruce

Desmond Clark over Randy McMichael
Why Jenkins over Drew???Atl receivers are high risk/high reward. Bennett's play has been solid mostly in garbage time
Because I think New Orleans' defense is a little better against the run than they are against the pass (although I think Atlanta will still be able to run on them because of their unique WVU-style offense) -- plus I see the Monday night game as being a little bit of a shootout. -- Hoping for a 31-24 type of game...

I started Drew last week and was really disappointed. He didn't get that TD until really late and if it weren't for that he would've had a really awful outting..

Isaac Bruce is really my second choice right now, but I just have a feeling about Jenkins this week...

I've been going back and forth on my 2nd RB and 3rd WR but I've decided at RB I'm starting Tiki and Maroney over Bush, Foster and Norwood. At WR I'm starting Wayne, Bryant and Cotchery over Colston, Housh and Matt Jones.

Maroney over Bush because Atl run D has been tough up to this point. I'm hoping Maroney can squeeze out a TD vs Den instead of Dillon.

Cotchery over the other 3 options because he's the hot hand right now however if Coles isn't playing due to his injury I'll probably take out Cotchery and put in Colston. I'm just not sure if Cotchery can still put up numbers if he's getting covered by the Bills top corner w/ perhaps additional coverage rolled his way without another legitmate receivng threat out there. Colston has put up a TD in his 1st 2 games so maybe the streak can continue. Not playing Housh because even if he is playing this week I'm not inserting him into my lineup until I know he'll be healthy and productive. Matt Jones isn't a bad play as a 3rd WR this week but I just like my other options better.
