In Your Most Important League - Did The Team With Most Regular Season Points Make The Finals? (1 Viewer)

No. #1 scoring team lost last week to the #2 scoring team. #1 team was missing Ekeler and Evans.

We have divisions and I was the #1 scoring in my division and made the finals but was #4 scoring overall.

In my league 4 teams made the playoffs which were the last two weeks.  I was #4 seed with the most points in the regular season.  The #2 seed was second in points.  Both of us are in a faceoff now in the finals.

BTW I had the most points and an 8-6 record.  I had one could say exceedingly bad luck with several teams having their best week of the year against me.

This has been discussed in other head-to-head  vs total points threads - the main downside to total points leagues is that once you’re out early, the excitement factor definitely wanes. But it’s also a sense of accomplishment/pride for winning the long game rather than a hot/lucky team in the playoffs. Plus we’re a deep keeper total points league, so you still need to build your team even when out of it.

Except my leagues aren't total points leagues.  They are best record leagues just without the playoffs.  You play 18 games and the best record gets the title.  

The highest point eliminated bonus is a single week bonus for any team eliminated from a money spot that scores the most points in a single week.

I only have a rebuilding dynasty & an IDP league, so I guess the IDP league is “most important”. 

I was the season points leader. My team inexplicably went 1-4 down the stretch. I needed 1 win to lock the WC. I lost a game in week 14 by .3 on a Wednesday score change.  

If I’d played the same schedule as the 2 teams in my division that were the division winner & the wildcard, I would have been an 11-win team & the 1-seed. 

Best team I’ve had in years, even after losing Ridley, Denile Hunter & CMC. Ah well….good for 10% of the kitty, so I played for free & made ~$100+ on top. And I’ll likely win the loser bowl this week for another $100. 


And I wouldn’t change a thing. Luck of the draw. I’m already doing draft prep for next year.

The 3 and 5 seeds are playing for the championship but they were the top 2 in total points.

20 year long league. 12 team PPR super flex.  I was the number 1 seed in both record and points.  Made the championship this week.
