None of this. They have an incompetent owner who will happily spend money whenever and wherever necessary, but has an almost 0% hit rate on GM/coaching hires. And then he gets antsy and starts meddling to varying degrees as has just really come to the forefront most recently. There's a reason why the Broncos paid Sean Payton 18M a year. A dude like that can turn things around quickly.every time there is a reset i, as a life long jet fan, immediately think that anything has to be better than the status quo and nothing can be worse. yet, idzik was a joke, mccagnan stunk and somehow douglas was worse than both of them. i mean, it seemed impossible they could hire a coach worse than gase, but saleh came along. what i’m saying is again is nothing can be worse than jd/saleh but i just know the jets will make it happen somehow.
I'm not saying the Broncos are Super Bowl contenders, but they look like a legitimate team with a chance to win every Sunday.
Is it a money thing? Does Jets ownership do things on the cheap? Or do they just pick the wrong guys? (or both)
Is part of it also that the Giants are terrible? If the "other team in town" were kicking *** would the Jets be 'pressured' into doing things differently?
Every time they have to burn it to the ground and rebuild, its been a matter of praying they finally run into one and find the right 'football guy' but none of em can ever pick a coach or a QB it seems.
