Interesting/bizarre/unique/funny crime thread? El Chapo's son and El Mayo arrested by U.S. authorities (2 Viewers)

This is beautiful

A woman who threw a bowl of hot food in a Chipotle worker's face is going to get a taste of life on the other side of the counter. Rosemary Hayne, 39, was originally sentenced to six months in jail for the assault at the Parma, Ohio, restaurant, with 90 days suspended, but the judge offered to cut her jail time by two months if she spent that time working at a fast food restaurant at least 20 hours a week

This is one of the craziest stories I've ever seen. 1f92f.png

"Mississippi authorities have been under scrutiny for their burial and notification policies since it was revealed that Dexter Wade was struck and killed by a police vehicle and buried without notifying his mother, who spent months looking for her son while authorities declined to tell her that he had died. A report about the case revealed that a second Black man, Marrio Moore, had been killed in a separate incident and buried on the same day and at the same location as Wade, again without his family being notified. The cases of Wade and Moore were part of a series of reports by NBC News on failures in the death notification systems used by authorities. This report eventually led the news organization to obtain county coroner’s records for Hinds County, which led to the identification of 215 people who had been buried in the pauper’s cemetery since 2016. The news network has published the names and basic identifying information about the 215 people in hopes of allowing members of the public to find their missing relatives or loved ones."

British banks scramble after a Big Lebowski-inspired ‘Dudeist priest’ in Northern Ireland filed hundreds of false documents

Bosses at some of the U.K.’s largest banks faced confusion and chaos after discovering hundreds of fake documents relating to their financial assets, filed by an ordained “Dudeist priest” in Northern Ireland.

Sad that a downward spiral continues for a former local personality. Still, I was reading the story and … what?!?

Jeff Dubay, a former longtime sports radio personality in the Twin Cities, is due in court next week stemming from the latest of his many drug-related run-ins with the law.

Dubay left jail Wednesday after he was charged in Todd County District Court with felony third-degree possession of a narcotic and driving under the influence of drugs after a state trooper pulled him over in West Union earlier this month. Charges say he was wearing only a blanket while he was soaked in vegetable oil.

Another salami murder attempt.

Upon hitting her with the salami, Heilig yelled, “I threw it at you to get your attention,” according to an arrest report.
The guy should have also been a served a court order to stay at least 100 yards from any salami shop.

Columbus OH gets hacked
Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther said on August 13 that a “breakthrough” in the city’s forensic investigation of the breach found that the sensitive files Rhysida obtained were either encrypted or corrupted, making them “unusable” to the thieves. Ginther went on to say the data’s lack of integrity was likely the reason the ransomware group had been unable to auction off the data.

The some security researcher says, hey look here, I found the leaked data, it's all intact and dangerous.

So Columbus sues HIM. :lmao:

This one is a bit interesting and bizarre. And stupid and cruel as well. Over a simple elementary school restroom pass.

"The issue arose after lunch when the restroom pass went missing. Johnson’s daughter said that as a result, the teacher punished the entire class by taking away their ability to use the restroom. For some students, this led to accidents as they were forced to wait for hours, unable to use the restroom."

-------------------------

"This left students without access to a bathroom from around noon, until dismissal at the end of the school day—about three to four hours. Some students had to wait additional time in their “car-rider lines” and on bus routes.

In the wake of the incident, Johnson learned from other parents that six students had soiled themselves during the ordeal. “So initially, we were told two, after we as parents got into a group and started talking more, it has come down to be there’s about six who actually soiled themselves and had accidents,” she shared."

‘We assumed we were looking for a body’: Police seek person who cut wires in Commerce City

Commerce City PD announcement:
With the amount of electricity the power company believes likely went through the person who cut the wire, we assumed we were looking for a body. But we never found one. Instead we found surveillance footage showing two explosions and then a person (too far away and too dark to do any good sharing publicly) walking away from the scene.
That's scary

Hunting season in the East.

Virginia father of 5 killed by bear falling from tree during hunting accident

An investigation by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources suggests that a group of hunters chased a bear into a tree. Then as the group retreated from the bottom of the tree, one of the hunters shot the bear, according to officials. As the animal fell, it hit 58-year-old Lester C. Harvey Jr., of Phenix, Virginia, who was standing about 10 feet from the bottom of the tree, officials said. One of the hunters provided first aid until local fire and EMS arrived, according to officials. Harvey, who had been in serious but stable condition after being transported to a hospital, died of his injuries.

Even In Key West, You Will Get Arrested For Having Sex On a Public Sidewalk

While court and police records list Jeannot’s address as a Whitehall, Michigan residence, he recently began a job with a Key West yacht company, according to a post on his Facebook page. Clawson, who works as a server in Key West, lives in nearby Stock Island and is a licensed esthetician, or “facial specialist.”

"Jury selection took place in the federal trial of an IRS agent accused of accidentally shooting and killing a fellow agent in 2023. More than 60 jurors were whittled down to 14 on Wednesday as the fate of Larry Brown rests in their hands.

Brown faces an involuntary manslaughter charge after he reportedly shot Patrick Bauer in the torso during training at a federal gun range at a Phoenix prison in August 2023. Bauer died in the hospital, and according to court records, his last words were, “Larry’s an effing idiot.”"

If I'm on my death bed I AM NOT going out saying "effing".
