No. Not at all.I'm not a fan of the one you linked for two reasons. 1) The leather covers too much of the front of the ipad adding bulk. 2)I like to keep the ipad on the arm of the sofa. For this, you need a wide stable base. The Toblino provides a wide stable base in all 3 viewing positions. The AYL would probably fall over in the upright position.

I also have the Targus viewscape which is a great case. However, the Toblino has the magnet built in that wakes/sleeps the ipad which is an advantage.

Just some things to consider.

Wound up with the Ion Carbon Cover. It's the perfect case in every way - except it smells something terrible (vinyly, plasticy). Hoping that goes away over time. ETA - just read that it is a common thing called off-gassing and will go away shortly. yea.

I didn't realize it was that easy if you pay for that monthly charge. Think I will avoid the jailbreak way as long as I have the unlimited data still, wouldn't want to lose that. Thanks for the info!

It is still month to month on the 3G payment plans. No contracts which is nice. I have an Ipad and a work provided bberry for my phone/email. I picked up the ipad since other then pure email the bberry really isn't great (e.g. no apps, internet is horrible, pdfs and doc review not very helpful). I like the set up since the iPad does all those things and is basically like having a mobile computer other than for document drafting.

I was considering upgrading to a smartphone, but got the iPad instead and kept my old Motorola flip. I don't use my phone much, so made more sense to go with the larger screen plus not be forced into a monthly data plan. I bought the 3G Verizon model. May never need it, but is nice insurance. IIRC, it was an extra $129.

Yeah, the only thing I think I would really miss about a smartphone is having GPS always available. I guess Garmins have gotten pretty cheap.

A lot of the viewing choppiness that you are experiencing might not be due to website streaming issues. Try holding the iPad with TWO hands instead of just one and see if that helps.

3G plans are month to month. No contract. Available through either AT&T or Verizon.And yes, any wireless signal will work.

iPad 2 is more expensive. You just need to determine if the differences in specs make up for the difference in cost for how you want to use it. For me I was originally going to go with the iPad but finally decided on the ipad2 for a handful of reasons that made the extra cost worth it to me.You would need a 3G plan if you want to use it outside of a wireless environment. I only have a wifi unit because I basically only use in places where wifi (wireless) already exists like my house, restaurants or hotels.

I would really be using the iPad 2 for just basic web browsing; it will be basically an extension of my MacBook...my MacBook is 4 years old and still runs just fine, and I will be keeping it for word processing/spreadsheets, etc.

I have no idea how much space the apps take up, etc. I have really no need to store files on the iPad, I have all of my documents/music/etc. saved on an external HD.

The apps take up very little space. If you don't intend to store music or vids on it, 16G will be more than you ever need.I have 8 gigs worth of music on my 16G and still have a ton of room for more apps than I could ever use.

Do you regularly use your phone to control your TV while you watch it? You should try the iPad app, way easier to surf channels, 1 flick to scroll - phones are not that easy to navigate grids like this, you typically need to zoom in, and then when you zoom in too far, etc...
