How do you send a pic thru the iPad email as an attachment, instead of a cut-and-paste?

Go to the Photos App, pick the pic, in the uper right hand corner, there is a box with an arrow. Tap on this and that will give you options, one being email. This will launch into email.

Tried that, but mine always pastes the pic into the body of the email instead of attaching.

It is attached. Apple mail just shows the actual image in the message instead of a paper clip icon.

When emailed to a PC, its just pasted in the body....no attachment. I'm trying to save an image on my PC....but can't seem to figure out how. Maybe a result of trying to go from Apple to PC?

I just tested this going to a gmail account, and it allows you to download the image. What email program are you using?

That worked! But in a little different way.I set up a gmail account....and emailed the pic from my iPad, using my default account to send....to my gmail account. When I opened in gmail...it allowed me to save the pic as a jpg on the same computer I am running Lotus on.So basically Gmail allows you to receive it as an attachment, while the others didn't.Thanks for the help D-Day....

I'm the #1 iPad fan from the initial launch.The new iPad is great and I love it, but I really can't tell the difference from the iPad 2.I've seen some videos where they ask random people which is the new iPad and it's basically split on what one they pick.Maybe my vision isn't good enough to tell the difference.

this is bugging me.We have people telling us that this display is a game changer and others saying they can barely see a difference.When I hear "game changer" I think of the improvement of color tv from black and white TV, or improvement of HDTV from SDTV. That is the type of leap I expect from a game changer. I am starting to get the feeling that this game changer is more like the improvement of 720p from 480p. It is better but by no means a real game changer.Could it be that only certain apps can really show off the better display? I know only some of the apps have been updated to take advantage of the ipad 3 display.I am going to take my ipad 2 to the store and do a direct comparison with specific apps and see if I can see a dramatic difference.

Just read another review:2. Retina Screen – Apple has been touting the Retina Screen on the new iPad. How good is it? It is amazing. In fact, it is so sharp, that it is subtle. Some of the interfaces are so crisp that your eyes do a double-take. It makes reading a joy. Interestingly, after a while my eyes adjusted. Just as I was starting to doubt the screen, I looked at my iPad 2 and could immediately see the difference. Reading on the iPad 2 was no longer fun after the clarity of the new iPad screen.

I still don't see any predictions for the iPad 4 coming out in 2 years on that site, but I will believe you as I am just missing it.I agree with you that two years seems way too long and that next March-May is more likely.

There is no prediction for the iPad 4 on that site or any site. But, any suggestion that he iPad 4 will be out in two years is absurd based on the data in the box. March-May for the 4 is more reasonable.

What else would you iPad fans want out of the next version? A faster processor would be nice but for what a vast majority of users will use the iPad for it seems like the new iPad is all people need. I think it's going to be challenge to get people to upgrade.

In general this is true. I mean what else does anyone want a tablet to do for any reason? That is one reason people will "perceive" apple as losing it. They aren't losing it, they just aren't breaking any new ground. They can improve the processor a bit, have better battery life or memory, but in general it's the same thing. OS upgrades might be more significant than hardware upgrades.If apple wants to continue to gain market share, they have to find another product, and I don't know if that's out there. Perhaps a 7 inch tablet?

Just throwing this out there....what's to stop Apple from completely dominating the console gaming market by simply getting people to buy a wireless Apple branded game controller and Apple TV / Airplay so you can stream the image to your HDTV? At that point you now have no reason that the current iPad couldn't play COD-MW3, or Battlefield 3, or Mass Effect 3. The processing power of the new iPad is equal to the 360 or PS3. The iTunes store is also capable of mimicking what Steam does.And the reason that Microsoft and Sony won't be able to compete against Apple is because they are currently tied to a static model of hardware. Unless they adapt to a system like Apple where new hardware is released every year then I don't see how they would remain competitive. In 2015 or 16 when Treyarch is designing the latest COD game will they prefer to build it for the Xbox or Playstation that was released in 2013-14 or the iPad that was released in the 2015-16.So my prediction is that the next big piece of market share for Apple is the gaming market.

So how does this work. I guess I strap a dongle on it for storage. I mean for 599 I'm not even sure I can store the games you mentioned. Mass Effect 3 is over 12gb and Battlefield is 8gb plus. So your talking 20gb for just two games. The xbox 360 is 400 with a 250gb HD, DVD Drive, Wireless controller, and the Kinect. To really come close to be able to store games and play you $700 entry price if you going iPad alone and i'm still pretty sure that would suck looking at the game libraries with have for our xboxes and PS3. It's that our you go back to the base that still cost 200 more and add a game dock or dongle for a HD which once again probably sets you back a couple hundred more.I just don't see that model taking over the gaming industry. Not to mention that the iPad is just now catching (Still pushes a couple hundred million less polygons) up with the consoles which will all be updated in the next year or so. If i understand what is being said about the Wii U it will push more polygons than the iPad 3 and come with a 25gb storage media to help with the HD graphics and it is the weakest of the known upgrades to the consoles.

You didn't like me saying I don't trust the reviewers as much as I do my friends and neighbors who own the product? Or your upset that I pointed out that the base ipad could barely hold two games and a patch? Or your upset I pointed out the iPad 3 doesn't push as many polygons as the old school consoles much less the new ones coming out?Funny how just because I made those statements you paint me as an Apple hater. I have Apple products in the house and I have xboxes, ps3, wiis, PCs,Linux boxes, etc,etc. Sure I think Apple products are more marketing than anything and they are over priced. Doesn't mean I hate apple. So why don't you tell me how they are going to address being $300 higher than a console and address the storage space needed for anything other than casual games.

Narrowed down to one or two androids...but leaning heavily on the iPad (basically, for her, she is used to her iPhone, has had android in the past and was ok with it too).

Big things is that its knowing I don't know anyone who ever got an iPad and wished they had gotten something different.

For what she wants it for and what the kids will use it for...it will be perfect.

Few questions...

- is the 3 worth the extra $$$ or should I stick with the 2. I'm in this camp as well except I got a touchpad for 99 bucks on a whim after having an ipad for awhile. I find myself reaching for it over the ipad for ease of use, seriously. I put ICS on there and love how I can just power it up and see a dashboard of info all at once (sports, twitter, FB, weather, email, calendar) and then another page for apps. Plus I have zero issues at all just plugging it in and putting in all my movies straight to the file system.For awhile I used the ipad to do email and post on here, but I'm ready to sell it and move on. My wife went from loving it to hating it in about one month of heavy use. (she doesn't like the TP either) I still have my iphone and like it and for what it does is superior to the current droid phones for my usage profile and I think the jailbreak apps and tweaks are much better executed than the mods on droid.

This is more for my wife and the kids will play some.I think we are going with the reconditioned with the thuoght that in the next year, I may want one (bigger) for me since I am the one more likely to do things with music and movies.That and the 32gb is only available in the 3 and that is pushing out of the price range we are looking to spend right now.

Agreed - I don't store any music or videos on mine, it pretty much only has apps, and I've got about 8GB of the 32GB left. Some of the apps (games in particular) are huge.

you can go with the 16gb but you'll have to keep it lean & do a lot of swapping in & out of things. Its doable but I think I'd wait a month to see what happens with the latest rumors

Between new iPad 3's is a $100. Look for used iPad 2's 32gb. You get what you pay for after all.

It is a very cool device and the real things about it about it that are negatives are customization and web usage. Part of the reason these issues bother me is that I don't have a laptop as well. It is very frustrating the amount of things you just cannot do. In my opinion, those limit the device too much to be worth the price tag. If I could do it again, I would have gotten a much cheaper tablet from Android. I realize most of this is just expecting it to be things it isnt meant to be. You guys will probably love it.

I have a 2 year-old Gen1 AT&T. Recently I have been having some issues where inconsistently it has been giving me the "not charging" signal and not doing a pure charge time-wise. It will do a "drizzle" charge over-nite. If it is down most of the way, it may not get back up to 100%. I've used both Apple and Non-Apple chargers and cables and had the same issue.

I'm a 1000 miles from home and this is part of the problem. I don't have as much stuff to play/test with.

Has anyone heard of/ had this problem before? I don't have a warranty with Apple on this one, so I hope I don't have to get it fixed!

Never understood these kinds of cases for the typical user. Turns it into the size of a laptop. I want my case as minimal as possible to provide just enough protection for every day wear and tear.

Excuse the newbie question here...what could possibly be making this thing "beep/ping" here and there?

I have looked in settings and notifications and can't find anything.

Just kind of a random timed thing that ever so often it beeps and I have no clue what it is.

Checked emails and schedules and turned off the notifications for some of these things...but it still is going off.

Any thoughts?

Agreed. I still love my iPad and use it quite a bit, but only about 20% as much as I used to now that I have an Air.

I have a 2 year-old Gen1 AT&T. Recently I have been having some issues where inconsistently it has been giving me the "not charging" signal and not doing a pure charge time-wise. It will do a "drizzle" charge over-nite. If it is down most of the way, it may not get back up to 100%. I've used both Apple and Non-Apple chargers and cables and had the same issue.I'm a 1000 miles from home and this is part of the problem. I don't have as much stuff to play/test with.Has anyone heard of/ had this problem before? I don't have a warranty with Apple on this one, so I hope I don't have to get it fixed!TIA,

I had some time while my wife and I were in Milwaukee for her business training. So I went to a local Apple Store for them to take a look. I was kinda surprised that there isn't an Apple Store downtown, had to go out a little bit, NBD, just would have thought there would have been a store downtown.Turns out that the cause of my iPad problems is in the part where there is the connection for data and power. The interesting thing is that Apple considers the iPads sort of Solid State - for you old folks out there! Meaning they don't tinker with them. I had forgotten that I had purchased the Apple Care and had a little over 3 weeks left, phew! Will take the old one home do a hard back up (since I have been gone almost a month) then will get a new 1st gen from Apple.The short version of this is BUY THE APPLE CARE, especially for mobile products.I did try to see if I could drop some $$$$ and move up a generation or two, to no avail; figured it was worth asking!

I have an Altec Lansing iM227 and cannot recommend this speaker highly enough.Great sound. Ultra portable. Good battery life.

You know you use your iPad too much when you try to use your laptop like a touchpad and thinks don't work like you want them to. I have the two sitting next to each other and keep touching my laptop screen trying to figure out why stuff isn't opening/closing/moving....

If you're going to get a case that large, why not just get a laptop for less $$?
