Is EJ HEnderson worth anything in an IDP dynasty league (1 Viewer)

My 2 main LB's are EJ Henderson and DeAndre Levy. Should I get Jasper Brinkley LB in the FA draft to handcuff EJ? Is EJ worth keeping or worth anything being that he has had 2 seasons where there he has had a season ending injury at the end or the beginning of the season.

With him being 30 and havning a broken leg I worry about him.

Recovery from the broken leg isn't impossible, and a healthy Henderson still carries value. His upside depends on his recovery, whether Leslie Frazier moves on this offseason. If the Vikings pursue an ILB strongly this offseason, it's probably not good news either. For now, I'd consider Henderson a LB3 with some upside and a fair amount of downside.

I don't think Brinkley will ever be a three down player and he's going to have to improve his consistency against the run to hold the base defensive MLB job if Henderson can't play.

I'll have to echo Jene's thoughts on this one. Brinkley hasn't been overly impressive since stepping in as a three down MLB for the Vikings, so while I think he may have long term value as a LB3/LB4 type, it's not enough to spend a draft pick on.

Henderson's injuries concern me, but the guy can still play. The Vikings have a talented defensive unit overall, so I would listen closely to the news about his recovery during the offseason before trying to offload him. Be patient.

Look for MIN to draft Hendo's replacement.
The bold font impresses me, but do you have a link for that, or is it just your opinion?
It would be the logical thing for them to do. Leber at 31 is still an effective player but nothing more. Chad Greenway is a great talent at SLB but, with his playmaking dependent upon his speed, I don't see him as a top talent at MLB (if they were to try and move him). The only other Vikings LB I see of note is Heath Farwell, yet he's mainly a special teams guy.

Like others have pointed out, Brinkley is good in certain situations but he's not an every down player. They will need to bring someone else in. Henderson still has two years left on his contract so he will be in the picture for some time, but it would make sense to bring in a young LB rather than a veteran to add some young talent to a relatively thin position for the Vikes.

First and foremost they'll need some help in the secondary considering the injury to Cedric Griffin (but that's something I think they'd be more likely to address in FA). After that they'll probably try to find a good run blocking OL then I could see them looking towards LB if someone they like is available.
