Especially since I’m not assuming anything here. I’m guessing. Which is why I used the word “guess” instead of “assume”.
The investigation that led to this civil suit against Trump started at least three and a half years ago, right around when Trump’s lawyer went before the House Oversight Committee and testified that Trump and the Trump Organization had committed a series of financial crimes, naming names involved and properties used in the crimes. Suggesting that a serious probe into his business dealings only began just now and because it’s an election year isn’t supported by the available evidence.
Isnt she going after him in civil court? I admit to not being very familiar with this case. I know what i know from one analyst interview I heard. Seemed to me if he committed crimes she should have to go after him in criminal court.
That doesn't explain all the previous election years when someone did NOT run on a platform of going after Trump.

Another example of someone saying what all people on the left do or how all liberals think. I've yet to see a single example on this board of someone saying all conservatives do this or think such and such way.

The people saying that are accurately reflecting the intended difference between the terms “racism”and “prejudice”. But over time, the term “racism” has expanded to occupy territory previously covered by “prejudice”, which is why modifiers like “systemic racism” have entered the lexicon.
When James announced the civil suit she also announced a criminal referral to DOJ was in the works. Whomever led you to believe civil/criminal is an either/or situation here was trying to deceive you.
