We have way too many baby boomers still holding critical offices. These people need to be out playing pickleball or whatever old people do these days, not running the country.
Worst generation ever.
I wondered out loud last night how we got so many old people in office.
-I voted in '08 for Obama, it's true. I did it because I was naive and thought he could turn around poor communities but I also liked that he wasn't an old man, had a successful and intelligent wife, two lovely children and I voted on emotion which I vowed after to never do again even if I don't "like" the guy that makes more sense as the leader between the 2 parties, be it a GOP or DNC.
I would like to see some younger and hungrier folks in politics.
-For example, MoP firmly supports hourly workers right now that have had their lives wrecked the last 2 years, I'd like to see those willing to go in and make the things we need, service the folks trying to get to their big office jobs, I'd like to see those folks get a subsidy from the government. Anywhere from $800-$1200 a month to incentivize them going to their jobs, show people we value the worker and we need them.
Maybe that's a wet dream i have of one day waking up and seeing a politician get on the TV and talk like a normal person that speaks about real day to day life many/most experience here in America.
-Get people excited about getting up and going back to work without feeling like they have to maneuver an obstacle course just trying to get in and out of work.
-Some folks have PTSD, we have a mental health pandemic at the moment and perhaps money doesn't fix things but it will get folks moving forward I believe.
-This is a rich country, we have the money to make peoples lives better that actually want to get up and contribute to this country. We should use those resources wisely and invest in people who are motivated. Stop trying to appeal to lazy folks or those that just want to suck up resources.
