Is Wes Welker still undervalued even in ppr leagues? (1 Viewer)

Still seems like this guy doesnt get his just due particularly in dynasty leagues. Only 5 WRs have outscored him the past two years in ppr leagues. Randy Moss, Reggie Wayne, TJ Housh, Larry Fitzgerald and Brandon Marshall. And three of these guys are over 30. Takes an offer through the roof to get one of these guys if he's even tradeable at all. Yet Wes is typically in the 15-20 range when going through dynasty rankings, even in ppr leagues. He's 27 years old and a focal part of a very good offense. Is it the lack of glamour in his game?

PPR? He was a good WR2 entering the season, he still is now, and he likely will be next season too.

Why a good #2 WR, why not a good #1 WR? That's really my point. He's still seen as a #2. Granted, FBGs dynasty rankings arent ppr, and if they were he'd more than likely move up a few slots, but he'd still be undervalued. He's currently #22 among WRs and individually at #19, #22 and #26 among those ranking him. Only 5 guys have outscored him the last two years, why isnt he seen as a #1 yet? His consistancy makes him even more valuable outside the cumulative numbers. Last 29 games, he's had 4 games without scoring double digit points, none of those games coming this year.

Welker is the #12 WR in my PPR league, which sounds about right. You are correct that he's probably a lot easier to acquire than a lot of WRs in the #10-#20 range. I tried to trade him off my dynasty team last year, but couldn't get what I thought was fair value. In hindsight, I'm glad I didn't make the move.

The best thing about him IMO is his consistency - at least 6 catches in every game so far this year. Plus he's only scored 1 TD all year and he's still ranked #12 in my league, so he's still got tons of upside in the coming seasons.

Definitely someone to try to trade for if you can.

I'd call him a weak WR1, I like my WR1 to have top 5 potential which Welker does not have given his role in the offense.

The guy is money in ppr leagues but I think people undrvalue him for his lack of TD's. At least that is the case this year. I have him on my team and he has scored 23 and 22 pts the last two weeks and I still can't field a respectable offer for him.

Why do you want to deal him?

I have Fitz and Steve Smith(Car) as my other two starters at WR but I only have Gore as my only solid RB. SJax and his strained labia are out and I need a good #2 RB. I was asking for CJ3 from a guy who is loaded at RB but thin at WR and he said no way.

He's currently 13th in our ppr league - I think he's a bit undervalued still.

I know :lmao: and no one cares BUT back when he was on the Dolphins - my cuts came down to Welker and Furrey - right after Furrey led the league in receptions. We cut in February right after the season. I cut Welker :banghead:

Might want to try and trade someone who has more perceived value, Smith, than someone who is viewed as under valued, Welker.Put yourself in the Chris Johnson owner's shoes, you have a rookie stud in a run first offense behind a studly offensive line. You (being blinded to Welker's real value) are being offered New England's low ceiling WR2 who only scores TD's once in a blue moon for him. While it may be a fair trade on paper, in most owner's eyes it's a joke. If you want Chirs Johnson that bad you're probably going to have to use Steve Smith to get him.

Its not just the total points that he scores that makes him valuable. Its his CONSISTENCY that is freaking amazing. In my PPR, 1 pt/10 yard league, I know that I'm going to get between 12 and 20 points with about 90% confidence. He won't put up a 30 point game like a Roddy White. But he also won't put up a 2/17/0 game and totally screws you. That consistency is gold, especially when you have solid players at other spots and don't need to gamble on a huge game to win.
