Right, I won't be taking him there...only if he slips to rounds 10+Duke isn't a late round flier guy either. He's early 7th in standard, late 5th round in ppr.

"I'm sorry I tried to encourage people to slash police officer's throats."Isaiah Crowell apologized to Cleveland police chief Calvin Williams for the image he posted on his Instagram account last week.
Crowell has come under fire for posting an image of a police officer being stabbed in the neck by a hooded person last Wednesday. Crowell deleted the post almost immediately and issued what seemed to be a sincere apology. In a statement, the Browns said an apology is "insufficient" and Crowell will need to "take steps to make a positive difference after a very negative and impactful post." Crowell is not expected to be released, but he has some work to do to earn back Cleveland's trust.

If you are the police chief, do you accept his apology? Perhaps instead he should call a press conference and highlight this as a great example of one thing that is wrong with race relations in America today."I'm sorry I tried to encourage people to slash police officer's throats."
Bro, every team in the NFL has ppl on their roster that have committed ACTUAL crimes. Some, pretty effing heinous ones.I am not surprised an organization owned by a POS like Haslam would keep Crowell on the team.
The Ravens that had a murderer for his entire tenure?A better organization cuts this guy immediately. He's not even that good which makes it easier. You're kidding yourself if you don't think the Ravens cut him yesterday, in this situation.
Grow upPolice chief needs to S T F U. That's one of the problems he wants to use his badge and authority to throw his weight around.
Plenty grown. His job is to run the police department. His job isn't to threaten the Browns if Crowell doesn't do what he wants him to do.Grow up
What did we say in the old days? Pawned? Can't remember. Anyway, that comeback made my day.The Ravens that had a murderer for his entire tenure?![]()

I see you have over 10,000 posts. Are they all this stupid?Police chief needs to S T F U. That's one of the problems he wants to use his badge and authority to throw his weight around.
I hope he learned his lesson. He can say or post any offensive thing he wants as long as he pays someone money after.$ heals all wounds.
I am quite certaine there are a whole lot of HoFers who are plenty dumb. It's football not rocket surgery. What a big fracking moron this guy is. Guys who are this dumb don't usually turn out to be very good players. Good luck, Crowell owners.
And what will he do after Watson beats him out and is cut in camp?@ProFootballTalk 1h1 hour ago
Isaiah Crowell will donate first game check of season to Dallas police charity after “becoming part of the problem"
I was thinking similarly... The Browns should cut him after week 1.And what will he do after Watson beats him out and is cut in camp?
I don't know about that. The elite, HOF type players seem to have smarts too. That's usually what separates them. All these guys are tremendous athletes. The difference is their mental approach and understanding of the game.Chaka said:I am quite certaine there are a whole lot of HoFers who are plenty dumb. It's football not rocket surgery.
Rocket surgery, eh?Chaka said:I am quite certaine there are a whole lot of HoFers who are plenty dumb. It's football not rocket surgery.
This gave me a good LOLMade more sense than saying brain science...LOLRocket surgery, eh?This gave me a good LOL
"Mental approach" is a bit different from smart. It's closer to emotional intelligence. You can rattle off a bunch of great players who bombed the Wonderlic, a test designed to assess their intelligence and understanding of the game. Frank Gore, AJ Green, Dan Marino. There's a difference between a dumb mistake and being dumb. Making dumb mistakes is more a symptom of immaturity.I don't know about that. The elite, HOF type players seem to have smarts too. I find his contract to be relative. If he was paid like Peterson the game check he'd have to give up would be around $750,000. Based on his contract he'd be giving up $37,500. I love the old lady and the penny biblical parable but I still think it's debatable if it's worse to have to give up a lot more because you make more or hurts more because you make less but give up less. To me it's relative.I feel a little bad for Crowell. It's a great gesture but I'd bet he regrets giving up that money pretty quick. He's on a UFA contract and might not get many extra years after he plays that out. I'm not sure what the right public shaming is. This seems pretty similar to the Riley Cooper incident a couple years ago but his only punishment was team sanctioned "sensitivity training," and the team never really got over it.
You're down on a movement that wants a group of people to be killed by police less?I find his contract to be relative. If he was paid like Peterson the game check he'd have to give up would be around $750,000. Based on his contract he'd be giving up $37,500. I think at this point of he did what he needed to do. We saw Ray Rice shut out forever when that video came out and we saw teams eventually welcome guys like Vick back but it took some time. Point is he needed to do whatever needed to be done to help make this go away and not potentially cut and forced to sit out an extended period of time until public outcry calms down, like with Vick, or worse getting the permanent vacation like Rice.
Now I will say if he had did a more sincere initial apology the first time, instead of publicist/attorney prepared statement, then he might not have had to give up the check.
Lastly I'll just say I'm pretty down on the BLM movement and very very down on those who would advocate random violence on police. So safe to say I thought his instagram pick was repulsive. But I'm sick and tired of public shaming. Tired of the indignation and social media lynching. I don't own Crowell in a single fantasy league or root for the Browns in any way but put me down as saying I'm glad that he's not lost his job. Sucks to lose some money and he's got some serious PR work to still do but he's employed and he can work these things out over time. That's a whole lot better than being shamed into permanent banishment over one dumb mistake.
I am a Duke owner and to be honest, I feel the same as you. The guy made a mistake and he apologized. He didn't break a law. Let it go.Man, I can't believe how big of a deal this thing is. This is a molehill that the media and the Cleveland police chief turned into a mountain. Was it a stupid thing to post? Of course it was, but I don't believe it was a threat in any way, just a guy venting his frustration in a stupid way. An apology should have been more than enough. People wanting him to be cut are crazy. This police chief is greatly overstepping his bounds, on something that is 100% none of his business.
I thought that picture was reprehensible. Has nothing to do with who or what Crowell is. I'd feel the exact same way if my neighbor posted it.People feel better about themselves when they see someone who made it, make a mistake
Pretty sad.
lol....People feel better about themselves when they see someone who made it, make a mistake
Pretty sad.

As opposed to being incredibly sad because you'll excuse any behavior as long as you get something personal out of it.?People feel better about themselves when they see someone who made it, make a mistake
Pretty sad.
So will most people. As opposed to being incredibly sad because you'll excuse any behavior as long as you get something personal out of it.?
Smart is relative. Having awareness, imo, is smart. Elite players have better awareness, dumb players lack awareness. My take, anyways."Mental approach" is a bit different from smart. He made a stupid decision. He owned up to it. Get over it.You should really be embarrassed for that post. Take a step back and maybe you'll see it.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. He's smart enough to post on an elite fantasy football message board as user 'Soulfly3'. He can't be that stupid.Rhythmdoctor said:What a big fracking moron this guy is. Guys who are this dumb don't usually turn out to be very good players. Good luck, Crowell owners.
