i don't really understand Australia betting.  i think the horseplayers there think different factors are more important, like they really care about first or second race off a layoff.  i handicap like US horses, so sometimes my top pick is like 25-1.   betting exotics on those tracks has been lucrative.  

i think closing speed is the #1 factor, with recent performances regardless of track being #2
