A graceful way to exit a historic career. He set the record for lowest fantasy score I've ever seen. -6.6 in my league.
He's right.Tony Dungy saying Brock should start right now. Ouch.
no, he's late to the party. if he was right he would have been saying it this offseason after watching the collapse late last season. He's right.Tony Dungy saying Brock should start right now. Ouch.
I think given his relationship with manning, he's being about as reasonably timely as can be expected. For him to say it at all is more than what many that close would say and it says volumes. He probably sees so many technical differences in manning that it's sad.no, he's late to the party. if he was right he would have been saying it this offseason after watching the collapse late last season. He's right.Tony Dungy saying Brock should start right now. I think this is Elway's call to make. Usually I hate it when control is taken from the head coach, but in this situation it's almost necessary.BusterTBronco said:Send him off to the glue factory in the sky. Peyton Manning is done. Kubiak is an idiot if he starts Manning again.
johnny u playing a year with the chargers when he should have retired a couple of seasons sooner in baltimore.Could rival Willie Mays with the Mets as saddest end to a HOF career.
Seems like one of those guys who'd make a great coach/O-coordinator... he would also be pretty incredible in the booth for awhile, but his accent would bug over 3 hours.Pretty clear after Osweiler came in that Manning is (was) solely responsible for holding the Broncos back. Kubiak is crazy if he is even considering starting Peyton next week.
He got his records he came back for, team's still in 1st place, now here's your clipboard.
Some guy named Ed Baker had 4 INTs and 40 passing yards in a 1972 game. And Joe Namath had a game in 1975 where he had 6 INTs and 96 passing yards. Not sure if its been mentioned or asked, but was that officially the worst fantasy performance in NFL history? Can anyone think of another player who put up -7 points in a game?
NFL QB's microphones are turned off before they walk up to the line of scrimmage. He's still the best at identifying a defense and quickly seeing the weaknesses. Give him the mic into the QBs helmet as a second pair of eyes above the field, and he could be unstoppable with a young accurate kid.
He's open! Throw it!!! Awwww, thats' right, he can't here me. Dang it.........NFL QB's microphones are turned off before they walk up to the line of scrimmage. He's still the best at identifying a defense and quickly seeing the weaknesses. Give him the mic into the QBs helmet as a second pair of eyes above the field, and he could be unstoppable with a young accurate kid.
Omaha!!!Probably not at all. I have a feeling Manning is pretty satisfied with his career. How embarrassing would it be if this team gets to the Super Bowl and he's second string?
Shhhhhhh......don't tell Peyton that.NFL QB's microphones are turned off before they walk up to the line of scrimmage. He's still the best at identifying a defense and quickly seeing the weaknesses. Fox?Shhhhhhh......don't tell Peyton that.NFL QB's microphones are turned off before they walk up to the line of scrimmage. He's still the best at identifying a defense and quickly seeing the weaknesses. Fox needs to stick the old man over on the sideline with a clipboard and headset, and tell him he's in Brock's ear the whole time. That'll keep him entertained for the next few months.
Yep, it just happened yesterday.Has a guy ever broken a record and been benched in the same game?
I like Peyton a lot and he's had an excellent career. But "satisfied" is not a word I would use. He's obviously still playing because he wants more records, stats, and ultimately another SB ring of course. A satisfied person would be more self-aware of the decline and wouldn't want to go out throwing 17 INTs in 9 games, and if he gets another ring he certainly wouldn't want to do it from the bench.Probably not at all. I have a feeling Manning is pretty satisfied with his career. How embarrassing would it be if this team gets to the Super Bowl and he's second string?
maybe the bears will trade for him?Fox?Shhhhhhh......don't tell Peyton that.NFL QB's microphones are turned off before they walk up to the line of scrimmage. He's still the best at identifying a defense and quickly seeing the weaknesses. Manning is risking a lot on a personal level at this stage. That performance may have almost overshadowed the record, it should have been a huge glorious day, but what will it be remembered for?Probably not at all. I have a feeling Manning is pretty satisfied with his career. How embarrassing would it be if this team gets to the Super Bowl and he's second string?
Or do you mean embarrassing for the rest of the AFC? I can get on board with that.
Yeah, he keeps on putting up stinkers like he has and everyone will remember how awful he was as he hung around to break records. Right now he's simply embarrassing himself out there.Manning is risking a lot on a personal level at this stage. This can be like having finished a $200 bottle of fine red wine only to chase it at the end with cocktail glass of old, spoiled vinegar, it could leave a bad taste in his mouth for a long time.
I have enjoyed watching Peyton's greatness over all these years. He is embarrassing himself now. He got his record. He should retire today.I like Peyton a lot and he's had an excellent career.
