Good thing he has the injuries to blame this on. Guy should have retired instead of chasing more Favre records.

 
Peyton has a huge urine stain down his left leg, poor guy. Attendants leading him toward the locker room now, he's babbling obscenities.

 
I'm guessing Archie's boy was installed as starter in Uptown New Orleans pee wee leagues when he was oh around 7 years old, and I am guessing he has never come out for performance, this is truly a unique moment in his life tonight.

I think given his relationship with manning, he's being about as reasonably timely as can be expected. For him to say it at all is more than what many that close would say and it says volumes. He probably sees so many technical differences in manning that it's sad.

I think this is Elway's call to make. Usually I hate it when control is taken from the head coach, but in this situation it's almost necessary.

 
Not sure if its been mentioned or asked, but was that officially the worst fantasy performance in NFL history? Can anyone think of another player who put up -7 points in a game?

 
Pretty clear after Osweiler came in that Manning is (was) solely responsible for holding the Broncos back. Kubiak is crazy if he is even considering starting Peyton next week.

Seems like one of those guys who'd make a great coach/O-coordinator... he would also be pretty incredible in the booth for awhile, but his accent would bug over 3 hours.

 
Josh Freeman should send PFM a thank you card for making his awful game with the Vikings last year seem like a freaking master class in comparison.

Some guy named Ed Baker had 4 INTs and 40 passing yards in a 1972 game. And Joe Namath had a game in 1975 where he had 6 INTs and 96 passing yards.

 
He got the record and then his body shut down even more than it already had. Maybe his mind a bit also.

Fox needs to stick the old man over on the sideline with a clipboard and headset, and tell him he's in Brock's ear the whole time. That'll keep him entertained for the next few months.

I like Peyton a lot and he's had an excellent career. But "satisfied" is not a word I would use. He's obviously still playing because he wants more records, stats, and ultimately another SB ring of course. A satisfied person would be more self-aware of the decline and wouldn't want to go out throwing 17 INTs in 9 games, and if he gets another ring he certainly wouldn't want to do it from the bench.

Manning is risking a lot on a personal level at this stage. That performance may have almost overshadowed the record, it should have been a huge glorious day, but what will it be remembered for?

This can be like having finished a $200 bottle of fine red wine only to chase it at the end with cocktail glass of old, spoiled vinegar, it could leave a bad taste in his mouth for a long time.

 
He accidentally got on the Chiefs plane and now he's walking around KC cursing at passersby, wearing a suit made of newspapers. :(

Yeah, he keeps on putting up stinkers like he has and everyone will remember how awful he was as he hung around to break records. Right now he's simply embarrassing himself out there.

I have enjoyed watching Peyton's greatness over all these years. He is embarrassing himself now. He got his record. He should retire today.
