It could be interesting to not reveal the theme and see if people can figure it out. I guess that is a pretty objective judge of how well you did. See if a theme was too on the nose or impossible to really figure out. That's highly unlikely to happen, don't you think? I suppose my idea wouldn't need to be a draft at all. It would just be guys putting together a mixtape that kind of reflects a theme. So I get that criticism.AcerFC said:love this idea but if one out two of your must have songs get sniped, you are screwedRamsay Hunt Experience said:Most people hate my more unstructured drafts, but what about a "YOUR OWN THEME HERE" mixtape draft. In other words, your mixtape needs a theme (maybe it's a break-up tape, maybe it's a make-out tape, maybe it's dedicated to the Summer of 1997, or Manchester, or whatever), but it's your own choice. Not just "songs I really like."Eephus said:Genre themed mixtape: Punk, Dance, Yacht Rock, Covers, Country, Prog, your suggestion here
Era mixtape: 2005-2014 or we could repeat one we've done already
"Songs about..." mixtape:![]()
DID Album draft: Theme or era TBD
Draft a band: We've done this before and the results were interesting although I can't find them via search.
Some combination of the above or something completely different
But I think the categories stuff is what really causes the sniping and worse (for me at least) the focus on stuff that I expect.
