Jags vs Fins (1 Viewer)

OK so this isn't exactly a showcase of the league's finest....there are a few possibly draftable guys here though. Any general comments on how players are looking appreciated.

Not sure where Ronnie Brown is?

Ricky Williams TD - he looks strong and is running hard.

Pennington looking for Ginn a few times on the TD drive.

The Oline is getting a nice push vs the Jags Dline. Long & Smiley looking good so far.

Thx - I wonder how much they will really use Williams?
IMO he'll get the bulk of the work early in the season and will eventually share carries with Ronnie Brown who's only 1 year removed from his ACL injury.Ricky was running through some nice holes created by the Oline. The rebuilt line with Long & Smiley looks damn good so far vs a good Jags DLine.

Ronnie Brown is in now and he also looks good - I can't believe how good the Oline is playing - Jake Long is as good as advertised.

Pennington really looks Ginn's way a lot.

Jaguars D and O looks like garbage. Jags brought 6 on one instance and couldn't get to Pennington. Pass rush has been nonexistant. Ginn is finding some holes in the secondary and Pennington is finding him with accuracy. Looks like surprising value for fantasy purposes. Jake Long has been great against spicer. Fasano with a nice pancake of Quentin Groves. The bright spots of the Jax D is Justin Durant. Has a great nose for the ball.

MoJo Drew looks sharp, Garrard has misfired on some easy throws. Doesn't look sharp out there. Jax O-line looks shaky.

ETA: Just as I post, Spicer owns Long with a simple swim move and drops Brown in the backfield, forcing a FG. Long was just way too aggressive that play.

My god. Garrard just missed Walker wide open for the TD. PA (4th down) Not sure if Walker beat his man or someone missed an assignment but , Garrard overthrew. Closest Defender was about 10 yards behind Walker. Yeesh.

On the bright side, I think we found our KR for the time being. Witherspoon (UDFA) has played well this preseason (save a blunder last week) and has these insane wheels.

<-- Video.

It sure does look like Walker is getting consistent separation from the DBs, which can't be said for Jerry Porter

They'll likely use Williams quite a bit in the early going. That said, they know Brown is the future & what a future he has. If not for a freak injury on an INT return, Brown would've been a consensus top-5 (overall) pick in both redraft & dynasty leagues this year. I think Brown was #1 in FF points at the time of his injury, & that was with no QB. Brown will have a productive season & could easily finish in the top-10 among RBs if he starts carrying the load soon enough. He'll be HUGE in '09, IMO. I believe Miami is on the way to having a very good team. Pennington is a God-send. He's the perfect caretaker until Henne is ready. Their OL could be one of the best units in the NFL with a little more experience. I expect them to be respectable this year & make the playoffs in '09. They could be really, really good in 2010.

:goodposting: So nice to hear and see (especially the OLine) after YEARS of just disgusting football.

Ronnie Brown is done for the night - went to the locker room with an injured thumb.

Ricky Williams is going to be a busy man early in the season.

Chad Henne looks good too tonight. Looks for Hagan and Bees.

And the new K Carpenter just kicked a 47 yard field goal that would have been good from 57 yards. Kid has a strong leg.

How did they use Greg Jones tonight? I see this as something that wannabe MJD and Fred Taylor drafters need to look at closely.

jaguars played absolutely miserable. just awful. JDR is gonna serve up an asswhooping when this is over.

walker with more drops. khalif barnes looked like a turnstile. nothing right for the jags today. they get down inside the five and MJD turns it over.

Greg jones continues to run like a beast. Broke a tackle on 4th down and went for 9 in the RZ. I think he's gonna get a lot of play in this area. He looks fantastic.

Chad Henne playing into the 4th quarter and Beck looks like he's about to cry on the sideline.

The Dolphins new K Carpenter could be a sneaky pick this year. Strong leg.

Wilford is almost non existant.

He looked very good. bobbled a 30 yard pass from Henne and stepped out before gaining contol. miami challenged and lost. Ginn clearly had Mathis beat.

I remember watching Miami getting pushed all over the filed last year when they played against the Jags in a preseason game.

Was not the case yesterday - Oline & DLine look much improved.
