Jeremy Hill, RB (LVR) (1 Viewer)

I almost went kb/sproles for cooks/Hollywood weeks ago as a Gio owner. Instead I went Gio/Julio for forte/ABrown today.

Hill looked good....but he is not taking Gio's spot atop the depth chart. Gio is more explosive and with the return of Eifert and AJ I would say Gio is a better fit for this offense. Hill is the more 3 down traditional back which is becoming folklore.
Folklore?! He is a rare talent that can play all three downs, run between the tackles, wear down a defense, is an excellent pass catcher, and can take it to the house off-tackle. I like Gio a lot but he isn't built to play three downs...he's more of a Sproles type.

Is Marshawn Lynch folklore too then?

Who in his right mind is going to trade Forte and Antonio for anyone else, let along an injured RB and a WR who has not met expectations?

dynasty seems very even

Sometimes helps to specify. Jack probably thought it was redraft, and I would agree, horrible trade in redraft.

In dynasty, I would prefer Gio and Julio

@pauldehnerjr: RT @BrewsandBengals: @pauldehnerjr I may have missed this but is gio bernard good to play this thursday? // Won't happen.

Per Cincy beat writer.

All hill for one more game!
At LEAST one more game. Hip injuries can be very tricky. The fact that he is ruled out this early without equivocation is not a positive sign for Gio.
Ruled out by a beat writer?
Legit beat writers don't assert stuff like that unless they know that is true. He is a beat writer from a real newspaper...he's not an internet speculator. Gio won't sniff being active...book it.
Not saying he'll play. Assumed he wouldn't as of last Friday.

But to claim what this guy says is gospel because he works in a dying industry is absurd.

No surprise but Bengals HC Marvin Lewis told @RossTuckerNFL that RB Giovani Bernard will not play tonight. Jeremy Hill time."

Twas the gospel after all, eh? Or was it just a lucky guess by some random beat writer in a dying industry?

Rotoworld:

The Cincinnati Enquirer imagines a 50-50 split going forward if Jeremy Hill has another strong performance in Thursday's game against the Browns.

Giovani Bernard (hip) won't play Thursday and his stranglehold on the feature back job is loosening. Hill was wildly impressive last week, putting 24-154-2 on the Jags' underrated run defense. If he eats against the Browns, beat writer Paul Dehner Jr. said he "will have earned an increase in his reps, particularly on first and second down." Bernard hasn't exactly been a chain mover this season, averaging less than 4.0 YPC in 5-of-7 games. The powerful Hill is at 4.71 YPC on the season.

What is this guy reading my posts here ? haha.

I'm just as high on Hill as the next guy but this RW writer tries to skew the stats a bit. He's quick to tell you Gio has averaged < 4.0 ypc in 5/7 games , then follows that with Hill's powerful 4.71 ypc on the season. Umm, prior to last game, Hill had 3.9 ypc. I know these guys get paid to write these blurbs, but they seem to be more subjective, then objective in their angles...

Easy to tell which you are from the stupidity and arrogance of your posts: Both.

NFL.com's Albert Breer reports Giovani Bernard (hip) could remain sidelined beyond Week 10.

Already ruled out for Thursday Night Football, Bernard apparently isn't a lock to return when the Bengals visit the Saints in Week 11. Breer also echoes reports that Bernard could be returning to a timeshare with Jeremy Hill, saying "(the) coaches won't be going away from (Hill)." It appears the time to sell high on Bernard has come and gone.

Crap. I own both. A timeshare would suck since they haven't been using the RBs in the passing game much and now AJG is back with Eifert back soon too. I can see those owning Hill only being happy about a share time share because it's better than status quo ante

Can only start 2 from Hill, Forte, Hillman and Rainey (great match-up v Atlanta). Good problem to have but tough. Almost can't sit Hillman against Oakland and certainly not Forte so reluctantly (no flex) have to bench Hill. Still hope he goes off tonight for those starting him

Sweet! Let's hope this stretches out to week 12 when I'm severely hampered with bye week issues.

Is this the same guy from Bengals.com that stated at the beginning of the season that they would split 50/50? Only to have Gio get 80% of the carries until the latest injury.

No, Breer works for the NFL Network.

Ya, that's why I decided to sell Gio instead of buying Hill....worried about a Williams/Stewart scenario for the next 5 years.

(FFToday) Bengals RB Giovani Bernard is out tonight, and could miss more time. And when he gets back, coaches won't be going away from Jeremy Hill. Analysis: The hip pointer injury that wasn't supposed to keep Bernard out of one game sounds like it might keep him out at least three. Saddle up Hill, who could post RB1 numbers tonight against the Browns and possibly next week in New Orleans.

(KFFL) Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (hip), who won't play in Week 10 against the Cleveland Browns Thursday, Nov. 6, could be out longer. RB Jeremy Hillwill continue to be involved when Bernard returns, as well.

Hips are tricky, especially when you have an under-reported shoulder/clavicle issue as well. The fact that he couldn't do much of anything this week does not bode well for a return for week 11. At this point you'd have to consider Gio's sideline time the definition of "indefinite".

Yeah, ask Bo Jackson.

Should I start Hill over Bell, Hillman or Ellington? Would definitely make tonights game more fun to watch lol. Yahoo rankings have Hill ranked higher than the other 3 and espn has Hill ranked right below them.

You realize they're all just stealing the Breer report right?

I took Bell out and started Hill. I like Hill at home vs the Browns better than Bell on the road vs the Jets.
Oh jeez...I thought you meant Joquie. Never bench LeVeon.

Excellent game so far for Gio Bernard owners.
I think the moral of the story is the Bengals are terrible at running the ball. The fumble won't help, but I don't think Cincinnati has a choice if Gio is out for a few weeks.

Too late now. Hope I didn't make a huge mistake lol. Still a lot of game left for Hill to put up nice numbers. Plus i am a homer. My user name is LSUFAN. :homer:

Big Big Night in store for Jeremy Hill tonight!

Mark it down!

There it is, the kiss of death!
Yep ... This has too good to be true written all of it.
Trust me. Hill's gonna eat tonight.Let's do this! :nofear:
Yeah Eat #### !
Never play the obvious as they will always bite you in the ###.
Yep too good to be true. Dalton's inability to move the chains is killing us. Hill's fumble didn't help matters either.

Sometimes coaches just cut off their own nose to spite their faces with this idea that they have to have two backs playing.

Is there any doubt in anyone's mind that Hill picks up that 3rd down on that draw before the half? Burkhead got dragged down by a finger tackle on what should have been a big play.
