Packers tight end Jermichael Finley has a message for the Eagles and the Saints: Enjoy everyone talking about you during the preseason while you can.Finley was asked on WSSP in Milwaukee why the Eagles and Saints are getting more national media attention than the defending champion Packers, and Finley said it’s just a matter of time before that changes.“I ain’t worrying about all that,” Finley said, via Sports Radio Interviews. “All that talk with the Eagles and the Saints, that will come to a halt, I guarantee you.”Finley said he’s eager for the Packers’ September 8 opener against the Saints at Lambeau Field. And he dismissed Eagles quarterback Vince Young’s claim that the Eagles are a “dream team.”“Ah man, that’s just talk,” Finley said. “That’s on paper. VY is a backup, I don’t think he should be doing too much talking.”
The All the trash talking that has taken place over the last week, the NFC is going to be really fun to watch! :boxing:

I'm old school, I think trash talking is part of football... Last I checked, this was a mans game, not for the sensitive.

Who wants to see football players acting friendly? Not me, not me at all! I like seeing people not like each other or the other teams, seems more realistic then tha "They are a good team, we need to respect them" crap.

As a Packer fan, I cringe every time Finley opens his mouth. I really wonder how long he is for Green Bay. He needs to shut it and outplay the hype this year. I'm not a fan of his act.

I'm an Eagles fan....That guy has a ring and he plays for a good team...in my opinion he's allowed to say damn near anything he wants.

:goodposting: Your job is to intimidate, and defeat the opponent. Your not there for respect, your there to rip the guys head off and knock someone out. All that friendly crap takes away from the game. :boxing: :boxing:

Good point, as for the guy before you talking about Finley may not bea packer for long, please.... Finley can say whatever he wants he is a stud, had it not been for the injury you would be drooling about how good he is. If he stays healthy this year which I think he will he could have 80 -1100 and 10 tds... Best Te in football this year and going forward for at least next 8-10 years. I love Finley and think the Packers are still the team to beat in the NFC. I like the Packers, Eagles, Saints, Falcons, Bucs, and either NYG, Dallas,Detroit to win the last spot.

Not sure how he guaranteed he will shut them up as the title said...at least not by the quote that was posted. While I roll my eyes a lot when Finley talks...that is part of what he does. But you want to see proof NFL drug testing is not working?http://www.kfan.com/cc-common/mainheadlines2.html?feed=427862&article=8953960

"I know there might be some Vikings fans that get mad at me for saying this," Robison stated Wednesday with KFAN's Paul Allen and Vikings Radio Analyst Pete Bercich (full interview here). "But I’m kind of glad they [Green Bay] won the Super Bowl last year."Left at that, Robison would have been run clear out of the state by the purple faithful. Thankfully Robison quickly cleared the air and explained his perplexing statement."Simply for the fact that I can say after this year we’re gonna kick the crap out of the Super Bowl Champs twice!" Robison continued with a cagey smile spreading across his face. "Hopefully we’ll meet them in the playoffs and kick the crap out of them again!"

well, he contributed absolutely nothing to get that ring last year, but that being said I don't care. Trash talk and developing rivalries makes the game better IMO.

I wouldn't say nothing...he did play 4 games for them so he did contribute. They went 3-1 in that span...now had he contributed nothing and they lost say one more game then maybe things end up differently.

He was out. He didn't contribute for the most part. Rodgers can talk crap. Finley needs to shut up
I personally don't care if it was the back-up kicker...he's a Packer and they're the champs...I have no issues with what he said and there's no criteria (IMO) for #### talking.

I wonder what Saints talk Finley is referring to? Most prognosticators I've seen have the Saints going 4-12 or something while the Falcons and Buccaneers battle for the division.

He was asked what he thought about the Saints and Eagles getting all the pub in the media and not the Packers (a question I don't really agree with as the media have almost unanimously picked the Packers as the favorites in the NFC).He did not just come out to slam the Eagles and Saints on his own.

The last spot will have to go to an NFC West team.

The 'disrespect card' is the dumbest thing in sports. Unless everyone in the media throws rose petals at the feet of a team it's all "no one thought we could win, the world was against us, yada yada".

Um, yeah. With Quarles and Williams at TE, Jennings, Jones, Nelson, and Cobb on the roster.....Finley is expendable. Yes he's fantastically talented but he's been more hype than anything else so far. Rodgers is the only one on the offense who must be kept, and kept healthy. He exceeds the hype.
If he puts together the healthy years...while he may be expendable with the talent they have...you don't want to have to face him.I think Quarless needs to show something though. He has been pretty inconsistent still as he develops.

If Finley stays healthy, everyone will agree that he is not expendable; he can be an elite TE with a prominent role.

He was asked a question and he answered. And, frankly, in football...the ultimate TEAM sport, it doesn't matter if you were hurt most of the year. That by no means translates into that he did not help his team win; on or off the field as it may have been.

So, when a world champion player is asked a question that is basically asking "why are these teams that haven't won anything being lauded more than your world championship team Mr. Finley?", I have no problem with him subtly saying "we plan to repeat and until that changes, there is nothing to say."

I just wish he would have said "To be the man, you have to beat the man...WOOOOO!"

There is nothing wrong with trash talking, but you BEST be prepared to back it up on Sunday's. If you open your mouth, just know that it puts a giant target on your back. Finley seems like he can/will back it up.

Completely disagree. Quarles isn't that good and Williams is an unproven rookie. Yes they won it all last year without Finley but Finley is by far the best red zone weapon they have. He's a mismatch for LB and safeties alike. Personally I can't wait to see Rodgers with a full arsenal of weapons at his disposal.

Why? He may be a very good athletic TE but Rodgers wouldn't be throwing it to him so would he still be that good?

Aaron Rodgers is a mismatch for LB's and safeties alike. He actually got along pretty well after week 5 last year when Finley went down if you can believe that.

Yes but I'm certain it would've been much easier for him had he had a full arsenal of weapons. The Packers finished 10-6 and squeaked into the playoffs. Had Desean Jackson not had that spectacular return against the Giants and had the Lions not upset the Buccaneers we'd be lamenting about what might have been last year and not celebrating a Super Bowl victory. When Brett was the Packers' QB everyone complained that they didn't give him enough weapons. Now we have another stud QB so let's give him all the weapons he wants. I'm not saying they should break the bank for Finley but he certainly should be a priority for them. After Sitton of course but before Jordy.

I don't want to argue at all but I disagree. It's never easy to get to/win a SB. You can't say it would have been easier with Finley because with Finley the Packers may not have taken the path offensively that they did. Maybe the offense would have concentrated too much on making Finley one of the focal points and it would have been to their detriment. Most, if not all teams need help and breaks along the way to win the SB.

I love how a team that has never done anything is picked to be the champs. Finley's right, the Eagles are overrated.

dear sally nancypants who are afraid of trash talking it is a part of the game and a good one for WARRIORS who dominate th field and detroy civilizations until the rivers run read with the blood of the nonbelievers like jermichael

leave kicking butt and taking names to jermichael while you sally superstars continue to make butt prints in your chairs and drink V-8

Came to post this.Even if he does live up to the hype this year, I can easily see his ego growing along with his production and GB just deciding it's not worth the $ to have an elite diva WR playing TE. Problem is Rodgers feeds the hype every chance he gets and if your QB isn't going to keep your hubristic big-mouth pass catcher on the level then who is?That said, strongly considering drafting him this year.

My point is I think with a healthy Finley they finish better than 10-6 last year. I don't think they should break the bank for him as Josh Sitton should be #1 priority, however I just remember how great Finley was in the 2nd half of 2009 and just get excited when I think of how good the Packers offense can be by bringing him back into the fold. It will be interesting to see if he gives the Packers any sort of hometown discount. If he wants to be the highest paid TE then I agree they probably should let him walk.

Because he creates a mismatch and we don't have a linebacker that can come close to covering him so we would be relying on coverage from a safety.

I'm a Saints fan and really looking forward to this opening night matchup with the Packers. Since 2009, we've matched wits with just about all of the top teams except the Packers. Two coaches at the top of their game, two QBs at the top of their game, and supporting weapons galore on both sides of the ball should make this a fun one.

I love how a team that has never done anything is picked to be the champs. Finley's right, the Eagles are overrated.
The Eagles beat the Lombardi coached Packers back in 1960 NFL championship, I wouldn't call that "never doing anything" exactly although it was REEEEEEALLLY long time ago.I agree that the Eagles are being pegged paper champs but they have great coaching and a ton of talent on both sides of the ball. I don't think they are overrated one bit. But I am a biased party. With that said I think it's common knowledge that the Packers are the team to beat in the NFC with the Eagles and Saints in the same discussion.
