Jodi Arias case (1 Viewer)

pffft...29 pages.

Call this a trial thread? :D
Meh, they had the "white Hispanic" shooter but she screwed up by shooting a white guy rather than a boyish looking, Skittles popping, hoodie wearing black dude so...

Yeah a nerdy looking Mormon is about as opposite as you can get, I suppose.

Then again, there really wasn't a single interesting legal or social issue her either - aside from providing the worst case scenario come to fruition for those of us who have dated unstable crazy chicks.

Yeah, you can't just crazy sex your way into rioting. You need Skittles and a hoodie.

Who riots over some dude who wears secret underwear AND got many months of crazy awesome sex from a decent-looking girl (who everyone knows is likely dynamite in bed)?

Poor Trayvon wasn't even drinking Lipton.

:sadbanana: Can't believe a re trial is set for 3/17. Yes I know it's possible entertainment for some of us if it's shown on tv, but why spend more taxpayer money on this? Just let her rot for the rest of her years I say!

I don't think it is a retrial. It is another trial with jury to determine if she should get the death penalty or life in prison

Correct. They aren't re-trying the first "trial" to determine her guilt. This is only a "re-trial" of the "second trial" where the jury determines whether she should be put to death.

Good to know. They didn't say that on the news, just it's a re trial. Still think it's a waste of time and money, and they should just let her sit in jail for all the days she has left.

They're retrying the penalty phase bc if she gets "life" it will be the judges discretion if it is possibility of parole after 25 years.

BTW, her ###### is gross if you've seen the pictures; butterfly wings flapping in the wind!

I thought there was a deal on the table that if the prosecutor/DA agree to life that it would be without the possibility of parole? And they said no...

Thanks Strike2K! Only I'm not following this anymore since it isn't televised. However, when they show snipits in Dec when this thing is supposed to be over, I will watch...

Funny how it went from screw my lawyers they suck I'm doing this thing on my own to now having them back on her case. I'm sure they will work extra hard for her now...

Not as interesting as the trial was since we know it's either life or sitting on death row for years and years, which is like life but in isolation. I read somewhere that more men are actually executed from the death row than women on the death row.

Jury consists of more women than men....

12 women and 6 men.

And if you want a play by play of what's being said/shown in the courtroom, our favorite prosecutor dog Nancy Grace is tweeting like mad about what she sees and what is said...

Sounds like a reliable, objective report.

Nancy Grace is one of the rare people in this world who, if a piano randomly fell out of a window onto her head while she was walking down the street, I'd actually laugh at.

I happened to look up the Gary Gilmore case today, and saw that he went from murder (July 19, 1976), to conviction (October 7, 1976), to execution (January 17, 1977) in 6 months.

That is just insanely fast.

She's so awful.
I can't stand her show but her tweets are not like how she talks/her show. It's just straight up how Jodi has much shorter hair (there is a pic) what Juan said, what the defense lawyers said, How the families look/reactions, etc. Just like what you'd tweet out if you were in there. Nothing NG like. Go ahead, check it out. You don't have to report back here that you checked out her tweets so noone would know... ;)

Also I'm talking about the tweets when she was inside the courtroom, not the rantings about it afterwards....

I'll ask the real lawyers who were in attendance instead.

ETA: Although they probably didn't notice her hair length.

You'd have to have not looked at her at all to not notice her new hair length. But then again if you're a guy.......

Also, not sure guys would give such details. She's writing as it's happening and in detail, so you kind of feel like you're in there in a way...

Must've been a bunch of jurors with an IQ of 176...

Such ####### morons :hot: she butchered this dude for basically no reason, how her life is spared is a ####### atrocity.

I bet if she was a fat ogre, she would have received the DP. Nurmi and the attorney chick will cash in on this win.

It isn't just that she slaughtered this guy for rejecting her, it is her lack of remorse and then trying to drag the victim through the mud (calling him abusive, pedophile, etc.)...

What a shame, hopefully the judge at least gives her life with no parole.

I would be shocked it the judge didn't. Unlike this jury, the judge has seen both trials and knows the true Jodi Arias.

She would kill again without question if she got out...

There are posters here who could be next.

Retrial of sentencing phase ended today. This jury was hung as well. The state was caught lying, destroying/hiding evidence, manipulating the crime scene and more. Estimated total tax payer cost for this case is guessed to be at least $7.5 million. Well done Arizona!

This was all a set up... Just ask the skateboarders that turned her license plate upside down.

I bet Walmart was in on this too, lying about those gas cans!

Damn meddling kids, otherwise she would have got away with it.

Don't get me started on my State's reckless use of state funds to unnecessarily try to punish people at greater lengths.

Arizona law requires that he do so. She's not going to see the light of day again.

Which is why it's a ####### joke that the state keeps pushing forward on the death penalty.

Everything I've read indicates there will be two choices the judge has:

Now that this second jury was hung, Judge Sherry Stephens is tasked with deciding Arias' sentence: whether she will be in prison for life or have the possibility for parole after 25 years. The death penalty is no longer a possibility.

I realize you're an attorney in AZ but I think you may want to verify your facts on this one.

I was speaking bluntly.

A.R.S. 13-752(Q)(2) requires a Court look at alleged aggravating factors. I'm confident that the Judge will determine, by following 13-701, that aggravation exists and she gets natural life.

Uh-huh. In future if you say a law REQUIRES them to do something, please make sure that's accurate. Because it wasn't in this case.
