Joey Galloway's Rapport With Griese (1 Viewer)

Galloway owners may be interested to know that the veteran WR has put up good numbers when Griese was his QB. It's been three years since the two last played together so that's a factor but there is some history with the two of them and it's positive for Galloway. This is from RotoWire:

Brian Griese will be Galloway's quarterback on Sunday; the two played together over a total of 13 games for the Bucs in 2004-2005, with Galloway catching nine TD passes in that stretch and racking up at least 60 yards in seven of those games (including a seven-catch, 166-yard day versus Detroit in Week 4 of 2005)

He actually distributed the ball pretty evenly. Pretty typical wco imo. I do think right now Griese will run the offense much better, and everyone will look good this weekend. Griese wil probably spread the ball out pretty well, but may take advantage of a single target if it's working. I remember him doing this with Ike & Alex Smith in the past. Then again, maybe he kept checking down to them... :goodposting:

I don't think Griese is all that good but I do think he brings more of a downfield element to the Bucs' passing game and that should help Galloway. Galloway got 13 targets in the first game but only a couple were downfield attempts. Garcia just lacks the arm strength to really take advantage of Galloway's deep speed, which despite the fact he's no spring chicken, is still pretty good.

I agree, Garcia can't throw a deep pass worth a crap.

This was on CBS Sportsline:

He got benched because he has been sucking. Apparently, Garcia was pissed.
:excited: FYI - Found this on rotoworld.

Joey Galloway-WR- Buccaneers Sep. 10 - 1:43 pm et

Joey Galloway (old) sat out Bucs practice Wednesday.

Galloway hardly ever practices on Wednesdays and wasn't reported to be hurt in the Bucs' season opener. He was just resting and will return to workouts later this week.

awesome.-jb- (white, slow, out of shape) - Did not practice today, due to precautionary measures to avoid unnecessary hip fracture.
