Browns WR Josh Cribbs hinted Wednesday at potentially seeing some carries in Week 10 vs. St. Louis with Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty out again with injuries. "They put something special in for me this week," Cribbs told The Plain Dealer. "There will be some surprises this week." Should Cribbs get some carries, it could pay off, as the Rams possess the league's worst rushing defense, allowing 153.6 rushing yards per game.(Updated 11/09/2011).Fantasy AnalysisThis isn't surprising since Cribbs has been used as a Wildcat QB in the past and he has been one of the few offensive players doing something on offense for Cleveland lately. Cribbs has scored in two straight games. It's still not time to buy fully on Cribbs, but he can be used as a No. 4 Fantasy WR for Week 10.
He already has been getting about 11 points each week in my standard league but if he gets 10 or more carries against the Rams he could blow up. Jags are up next week.

One of those "wtf" specs that has some legit BOOM potential written all over it. For a WR3, the risk/reward is worth it, over the likes of the usual cast of scrubs left out on the wire. :thumbup:

I bought, but decided to play Ford in the early game in my one "up for grabs" slot for the week. Feeling a bit of regret now, wishing I'd stayed patient to see how Cribbs does.

I've been taking a shot with Cribbs for years and keep coming back for more, but I think he is still a low cheap risk worth a chance as a flex position reward.

There are several reasons to start Cribbs this week:

[*]his normal WR stats where he's basically the only effective WR play on Cleveland, usually good for about 4/5 catches and 50 or so yards with 2 TDs in the last two weeks;

[*]added RB carries out of the wildcat due to the lack of healthy RBs - also Cleveland has a pretty good run blocking o-line and the Rams are cellar-dwellers for rushing (31st in the league)

[*]his potential to make a few passes out of the Wildcat. He played QB in college and McCoy isn't exactly so awesome that he staff should be reluctant to take the ball out of his hands. He's only 4/12 for 45 yards as a passer in the NFL. But that's what I'm reading into his comments - the special plays reportedly installed for him

All in all i'm hopeful for 100-150 yards combined receiving, rushing, and perhaps passing. Even in leagues that don't give return yardage, there's also the chance that he takes a PR or KR back to the house.

He's basically the only healthy weapon on offense, playing at home, against a pretty bad defense.

It's been long rumored that Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Cribbs could make an appearance at running back. The Cleveland Plain Dealer has it that it might happen this Sunday when the team takes on the St. Louis Rams.

"I can't give nothing away, but they put something in that's special to me and that's all I can say about that,'' said Cribbs, according to the paper. "Coach is really trying to target me and the coaches are really making an opportunity for me to get the football more.''

He was asked again later if he would appear in the team's backfield and said, "We've got eight games left. There will be some surprises this week," the paper reports.

Cribbs, a two-time Pro Bowler, has career highs in receiving yards (298) and receiving touchdowns (three) already this season. The 28-year-old Cribbs, of course, was a running quarterback while at Kent State. He is the all-time total offense leader there with 10,839 yards. He also holds school records in rushing touchdowns (38), pass completions (616), pass attempts (1,123), passing yardage (7,169), touchdowns scored (41), and points scored (246).
Starting Cribbs over the following WR3/Flex candidates in various leagues: (1) Branch & Jenkins and (2) Branch, JStew, and PThomas (1PPR for WRs/.5PPR for RBs).

Considering him in two other leagues but leaning against it compared to Harvin and Antonio Brown (.5PPR).

I might have to roll with Cribbs in the flex over Simpson, J.Jones, J.Battle, L.Moore(inj), and Manningham(inj)

FBG has him top35 but the difference between Cribbs and say where they rank Simpson is usually marginal.
