Julius Peppers Leaving the Carolinas... (2 Viewers)

If your main point is that Peppers loafed in Carolina last season, you're probably right.
I just posted 4 plays where he wasn't tripled teamed. So do we go with Urlacher's word that he was triple teamed on every play or the video tape???
 Your link had one play in it.

And even if you found four in a row, what does that prove? There were hundreds more this season, and I'll take his teammate's word for it.
Double team probably would have been the correct play call........If you look at the video it seems the back (#30) was actually there to pick up Peppers but got chipped by another Bears pass-rusher so missed his assignment

And the lineman didn't even look at him until he didn't have anyone else to block and was by him. If Peppers is really that big of a concern, the Packers would have a scheme to handle something as simple as this. Obviously they thought the back could slide over and handle him. Peppers is better than that...too much speed not to put someone in his face...but it illustrates the point that teams weren't directing multiple resources to block him.

Nice sample size.

Nice sample size.
RN>What are your thoughts on Peppers making the All-Pro team? Do you think it had anything to do with him getting 11-teamed on every play?

What the heck was that tackle doing? It's like they blindfolded him and then took off the blindfold right after the snap. Regardless of the fact that I think Peppers is over rated, you can't give him a free run like that. If you draw Peppers for the day as your assignment, how the heck don't you not know where he's at? The Steelers will have a field day if this continues.

Just re-watched the game . . . didn't see a single instance of Packers linemen getting help with Peppers. The only occasion where multiple Packers even touched Peppers were on run plays or on play action. On the first drive Peppers was mostly lined up across from Bulaga (Rookie RT), when Clifton (LT) went out on the TD, the next drive Peppers went back to his usual spot, and TJ Lang (second year backup LT) wasn't given any help either for the few drives he was in for.

On the big hit it seems like Clifton was napping on the play, not sure if he had the wrong snap count or wrong play or both, as he comes off the line late and hardly acknowledges Peppers. It was play action so perhaps he was expecting the flow of the play to go left and for the FB to pick up Peppers. Dunno.

Peppers did get pressure two other times that I noticed in the game, once against Lang and once against Clifton. One time he seemed to tweak Rodgers' ankle with contact that came just as Rodgers was throwing, and another time he forced Rodgers to step up into a blitz and Urlacher (I think) got the sack.

Clifton is a Pro Bowl tackle so we shouldn't be too surprised that Peppers wasn't able to do much against him, but I would have expected more when he was lining up against rookies and backups.

ETA: He did have several nice run stops, at least for this game I didn't see him taking any plays "off".

Peppers just helped a team that stunk last year make the NFC Championship game and he was worth every penny of his free agent contract so far...yet some are still bashing him?

Give it up already. The Panthers wouldn't be selecting #1 in the upcoming draft had they locked him up years ago like they should have. Of course Peppers has some negatives (like every other player) but considering he just had a Pro Bowl season it's time to walk away from this lost debate.
