KFC needs to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior (1 Viewer)

The only CFA I get a chance to eat at is the cafe at work. They have a restaurant in one of them (think food court here). Maybe it is subpar because of the setup, but I don't get the love for the sandwich. It's a piece of chicken and a pickle. Pretty plain. Nothing that awesome about it at all.

Chick-fil-A <> Popeys >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>KFC
Zaxby's beats the #### out of CFA
Agreed...their chicken is far better.

But....the downside:

-their kid's meals suck. Barely enough chicken, only fries as an option (and I will get to that)

-only fries as an option for any combo

-their fries freaking suck

Upside:

-better chicken as mentioned

-their salads are far better than CFA

-at least here, the heave the better ice pebbles

-open on Sundays.

For CFA...their breakfast puts all others to shame.
And the Zaxx sauce...OMG

I had not tried it for a while.

Usually got one of the salads or the kickin chicken sammich.

Then tried a couple of the nibbler sammiches...that stuff is pretty darn good.

I just took a look at the chick site. Do they only have sandwhiches, no fried chicken
yeah, which is why it is an unfair comparisonthey have nuggets and tenders, but sammiches are the big thing

and they are awesome
Unfair to an extent, but they are still blowing KFC out of the water in overall chicken sales. And with a third of the stores. I see a lot of people posting about how KFC made them ill or they didn't like it. And I used to be in that boat, too. But I tried the boneless chicken. It's not like a tender. It really made me change my view on KFC. I really enjoy the new boneless chicken.
I liked the boneless chicken, but my local KFCs all said it was discontinued.

For a chicken place, you'd think KFC would be able to make a decent chicken sandwich, but every sandwich they have is terrible.

Raising Cain's >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any other fried chicken out there right now.

Glad to hear you stopped getting sick from eating bones.

I love the taste of Popeyes spicy chicken. I hate the way my skin feels immediately after and my digestive system is whacked for 2 days. I'll break down and eat it once or twice a year. Same with KFC. Fan of the boneless original recipe but again the salt etc makes my skin crawl.

Take all of that deep fried stuff, put it on a biscuit or white bun, and cover it with mayo disguised as "sauce" and you have.......Alabama.

I can't imagine how an ad campaign based on people thinking they were about to choke to death didn't catch on.

You'd change your tune if you saw what I've seen. I do restaurant pest control, and my company services over 100 KFCs. Of those 100+, theres maybe 10 that I'd consider eatingat if I hadn't eaten in days. The rest are so disgusting I wouldn't eat there if you paid me. And its not just individual store cleanliness, its widely practiced ways they do things like leaving boxes of frozen chicken on the floor to thaw out overnight, leaving trash cans overflowing with leftover chicken inside by the back door overnight, failing to clean drains of raw chicken parts, grease, grime and the like, washing and reusing gravy togo containers, making pot pies from chicken that is days old...the list goes on and on.Eat at KFC at your own risk.

Those are not violations? If they are, can't they be shut down for repeated violations?

Yeah you'd think so. I mark sanitation issues I see on my paperwork, and I'm amazed how some restaurants pass inspections. Maybe there's some palm greasing going on, or maybe they get a heads up on when inspections are coming. Also, inspections happen during business hours, but I see what goes on between 1 and 5 A.M. when inspectors are sleeping. Even if they get violated, they are given time to correct them...so they can get away with it without getting shut down...then its only a matter of time before they slip back into nasty habits.

It's been a very long time since I've eaten there, but this post assures that I will probably never eat there again.

The last time I ate at KFC was in the early 90s. I had the small container of cole slaw and it had half of a small bug in it. It was perfectly chopped like it was in with the rest as they prepared it. Haven't entered their chain since.

Has anyone else noticed that at KFC, at least for me, they never seem to have the chicken ready. Well over half the time I go and order, I get the old "it's going to be about 10 minutes on the chicken". It's become a running joke with my wife and I. Suprised em again by ordering the chicken! And no its not a special order, just original chicken.
I've had that happen to me a lot at KFC too. Since I find myself waiting at KFC more often than not anyway, I usually go to the hole-in-the-wall soul food place by me for carryout, where I know I'll have to wait, but it's better than KFC.
I've had this happen at several places. I once was in the drive thru at a Bojangles and they said they were out of cooked chicken and it would be at least 25 minutes before they would have anything ready. This was at dinner time. I have walked into a pizza place to be told they are out of cheese and are waiting for some from another location 30 minutes minimum for a pizza. It's poor location management.

You guys wanna hear something hilarious. Our local Megchurch has about 8 billion small groups and one of them, no lie, is based on your love of biscuits.

I don't think that's based of a love of biscuits. It sounds like prayer and breakfast. Two completely different things.
But they already have about fifteen different prayer breakfasts, and one expressly limited to a certain type of pancakes. This is more using God as an excuse to have a group about biscuits.

I'm not kidding:

They don't even include the biscuit or pancake sessions in breakfast.
OK. I guess you've got them figured out. They're not really praying to God, they're praying to breakfast food.

agreed with the big red X. There's not a single thing on Zaxby's menu that beats the Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich.
I dunno....the Kickin' Chicken Sandwich is pretty tasty. It's like 700 calories and 2000+ mg of sodium, but it's tasty.

I hear stuff like this all of the time. It doesn't bother me. I worked in the restaurant for many years and if most people saw what goes on back in the kitchen, they'd never eat out again. And if most people saw what goes on behind the scenes at most food plants, they'd stop eating all together.

Luckily, I don't have to see what goes on behind the scenes. And I don't get sick from it, either. So I really don't care how disgusting it looks. It tastes awesome. And that's all I really care about.

I don't get the love for CFA food. I mean they are OK but they aren't all that. And they are kind of pricey. I do like their policy of being closed on Sundays.
Of the rare times I'll visit any fast food place, they are my first choice by far. Great chicken biscuits, sandwiches and salads. It's about the best quality of food you could expect from a fast food place IMO.
Yeah I know people love them. The drive through lines are always long.
It's shocking how crowded the drive thru is around lunch time. There could be 6 other joints on the same street with empty lines but these people will get in a 20 minute line for CFA. Could be something in the chicken...

you get an overpriced piece of chicken on a buttered down bun with a pickle. I once asked could I get one with lettuce and tomato along with the pickle. She told me this ain't Burger King. But I did get the sandwich without butter on the bun, so that was good. And the waffle fries extra crispy. They have good iced tea too.
the lines always move a lot faster than you would think, at least at mine

The cashier at Chick-fil-A told you "This ain't Burger King" when you asked for lettuce and tomato?I'm not a CFA zealot, but I find this very hard to believe.
Well, she did have a smile on her face, so I can't say she wasn't polite.
that's still way outside the norm. i assume if i am in the mall and ask for a chocolate chip cookie on my sammich they'll walk down to the cookie company and get one. they'll do damn near anything

since kfc does not have spicy around me, this is a huge plus for popeyes

Fair enough. I see lots of restaurants (worked in my share of them as well) and KFC is the only one Ive seen consistent issues like this with. Good luck.

Understood. But KFC seems to be extra special good at getting the nastiness all the way through to the final product. There's degrees of bad - KFC is at the superbad end of the spectrum. No thankee.

ETA: I worked in a couple of restaurants (chain and not chain) back in my teenagerdom and there wasn't anything like what wingnut was talking about going on. I'd have had no problem recommending those places or eating at them myself. I don't think blanket statements like "all restaurants are nasty in the back" are true.

I liked the boneless chicken, but my local KFCs all said it was discontinued.

For a chicken place, you'd think KFC would be able to make a decent chicken sandwich, but every sandwich they have is terrible.
Is this true? These things were the only reason I went to KFC. When they came out, I read an article where a KFC exec said that this was going to be game changing and that this was the new direction KFC was going.

That's a shame. They were like the Firefly of the fast food world. Gone too soon before people got to realize how great they were. :(

I know it's not exactly the same category, but Pollo Tropical > Chic-fil-A > Bojangles > Popeyes.

KFC doesn't even warrant rating. I'd much rather get fried chicken from the local deli section of a Publix or Harris Teeter or Wegmans or whatever.
