Kolsch Beers - Yep, Another Beer Thread (1 Viewer)

I go to Cologne for work about once a year. Every time I make sure to spend a solid evening sitting outside a traditional restaurant downing Kolsch all night. Not a bad way to relax after a long day at work.

If you must drink kolsch, Cologne is the place to do it. I dig the traditional kolsch glasses they use there.

Long Trail has one...I think it's called Ramble.

Flying Bison has one also (716) but I'm guessing you don't get that wherever you are.
Ramble is easily one of the worst beers I've ever tasted. A few came in a sampler pack and I could never finish one. They make it with ground peppercorns and the pepper flavor is awful.

Okay, I also picked up a bottle of Cool River Kolsch from Penn Brewery. So far I've tried five Kolsch beers. I rank them:

1. Lancaster Kolsch, Lancaster Brewing Company (Lancaster, PA)

2. Community Kolsch, Free Will Brewing Company (Perkasie, PA)

3. Canoe Paddler, Leinenkugel

4. Cool River Kolsch, Pennsylvania Brewing Company (Pittsburgh, PA)

####, I guess I only had four. Oh well, back to it!
