Kurt Warner owners---How are you doing?!? (1 Viewer)

So Warner made a lot of noise this preseason once he was crowned the starter, and was being touted as THE value player of the draft. I thought it utterly overhyped, and was promptly proved wrong. So how are you doing with Warner on your team. Is his presence, having a significantly positive effect on your team. Not just in terms of the points he puts up, but also because he might have allowed you to trade a qb you drafted earlier, or because he allowed you to draft rbs and wrs earlier while you waited till late in the draft to get a qb, etcetcetc...

The only 6-0 team in my league.

Picked third in a 14-team league and went ADP/Colston/Marshall/Megatron/Forte/Perry/Warner. Had targed Cutler at Round 7, but he was taken with the last pick in Round 6, so I went ahead and snagged Warner, with a little apprehension. But I couldn't ignore his upside compared to the other QBs available at that point.

Have Delhomme as my QB2, so I'm fairly comfortable.

4-2 and should be 5-1. Got Warner in 14th round and really may be the pick that put my team over the top in 2008.

He is my backup to Brees in a TD-heavy casual league. I have tried to trade him, but to no avail. I am 4-2 and among the best in points scored.

6-0 and 4-2 in two big $$$ leagues. He hasn't been the reason for any wins or losses....just steady. The bonus was that picking him late allowed me to stack Wr/RB's. Looking good to win both leagues!

I have him in 3 leagues with varying results:

1) Keeper league where I lost Brady -- I am 2-4.

2) Redraft league -- 5-1; 2nd most points scored.

3) Redraft league -- 3-2-1; Most points scored.

In first place due in large part to my 20th round (last pick in the draft) pick Kurt Warner. Getting a stud like Warner in the 20th round allowed me to trade D.Anderson before the season started for Chris Johnson and take rb's + wr's long before I chose a qb.A top 5 value with the 240th pick in the draft has really changed the balance of power in my league.God bless Kurt Warner.P.S. I targeted Warner this year because he won my Superbowl for me last season. Luckily I was well ahead of everyone in my league in regards to Kurt Warner.

5-2. Warner went undrafted and I picked him up after the draft. Draft happened prior to the announcement of Warner as the starter. Garcia was a great bye week filler.

He hasnt been the reason for losses (leaving R Brown and Fitz on the bench in week 3 killed me - starters were graham, adp, smith, owens and CJ2)

7-0, picked up Warner in the late rounds. Schaub filled in well for me this week, but Kurt's back in the saddle for Week 8.

i am sitting in first place with warner backing up manning. i have been frustrated all season watching warner put up the same or more points every week. i'm shipping manning out hoping to solidify other parts of my roster and running with warner. at least with warner i know that the points i get every week from the QB position are not dependable. lower expectations mean less frustration :goodposting:

i should be able to count on solid production from both my RBs and WRs after a trade where getting average numbers from warner each week will equate to a win. the weeks that warner doesn't drop the ball on the carpet 10 times will just be gravy.

FWIW, you didn't target Warner. He fell a ridiculously long way to you. Who did you take in the 19th round instead of Warner?

I got him nice and late in two different leagues. I'm the high scorer in the one league and 2nd highest scorer in the other. Can't ask for much more than being a consistently high scoring team. Warner has been a big part of that. My RBs and WRs are definitely deeper because I was able to wait on Warner.

Although, turns out I could have asked for an easier schedule. I'm going to win this week in the league that I'm the 2nd highest scorer, but going into the week I was 2-4 and last in my division. I had played the highest scorer while being the second highest scorer for the week 3 times already. Not much you can do about that. The scary thing is that one of my two wins I was actually the high score for the week but only beat my opponent by 4 tenths of a point!

In the league that I'm the high scorer in, I was 4-2 going into the week and third place in my division. I only have an 8.4 point lead and he still has Prater left. So I could very well be 4-3 after this week. Oh, and I have the highest score so far this week in that league and am insured of at least the 2nd highest score. It just so happens that the only guy that can finish with a higher score than me is the guy that I'm playing this week.

In one league I took Cutler in the 10th, Delhomme in the 14th. I really was going to target Warner but with Delhomme and Culter on board I just let him go... until the second to the last round, rd 17. Wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to much value there to leave him. I never draft 3 QBs but like I said i couldnt leave him there. I am 6-1.

Other league I got him as QB1 in the 7th. Paired with Delhomme. I am 3-4. but not due to Warner.

4-3 and 3-4... but not due to Warner. In both drafts he was easily top 3 in terms of value where I got him. My overall mediocre records are simply the result of under-performing early round picks, injuries, stupid lineup decisions on my part, and bad luck (i.e. scoring the second highest for the week and losing to the first highest).

more like who did he take in the 11th - 19th?

own him in two leagues ..

12-2 in one league (double weeks) and 7-0 in the other.

I lead both in scoring.

His value this year is huge.

Got Cutler in the 9th round and Warner in the 15th, Rodgers in the 16th. The delay on the QBs let me grab more WR depth. This was converted into upgrades at starter WRs when other teams' depth became an issue. Rodgers was also traded as I upgraded other talent.

PPR redraft league. Starters when healthy (key backups):

Cutler (Warner)

Gore, MB3 (T. Jones)

Marshall, TO, Colton (Welker, Holt)

Daniels.

Most points scored by a good margin. Only a 3-2-1 record as I'm 2nd most points against.

5-2

Leading my league in points scored by a mile. I drafted Warner in Round 8 though. There was no way I was letting someone else but me get him. He was my onlyl "target" in the draft.

3-4 due to some bad schedule luck (lost by 1 point due to the Ed Hoculi play, lost another game as the 2nd highest scorer to the top scorer)

As a Palmer owner, Warner (and Schaub this week) have singlehandedly kept me in the hunt.

Gold Jerry, GOLD!

I am so frikken jealous, didn't land him anywhere. Every league I look in, Warner owner at or very near the top!

:hifive:

Warner's been solid with a creampuff schedule. Can't wait to see him return to his old self with upcoming back to back games vs. the GMen and Eagles..

Bitter much? :goodposting:
After Westbrook's disappearance last night and that freakin' Atlanta D somehow giving up a last play hail mary to Lance Moore (someone should be shot for that) I'm up a lousy 16 points going against Warner tonight. I figured I needed to be up 30+ to feel good. So I expect to lose. 300 and 3 sounds about right. Though I wouldn't mind seeing Hightower going off after 5 passes to the 1 yard line, or Singletary himself pulling a Woody Hayes impersonation from the blind side...Just sayin'

:goodposting: .......Sounds like bitterness to me. How anyone could possibly trash Warner this year is beyond me. He's probably the best story of the year and if the Steelers don't win it all, I sure hope the Cards do.

Make that 6-4 - Warner may be the best "bang for your buck" pick I've ever made. Brees-like numbers in the 13th round doesn't come along every day.
12.10th round pick for me! makes me FEEL SO GOOD!

Nah, the Woody comment was tongue in cheek. I knew I was gonna lose tonight, and I did - by halftime. My comment about a creampuff schedule applies though. When Warner has time there is nobody better at delivering the ball on time. When he doesn't have time, he is still the biggest sitting duck in the league. Nobody either a) is blitzing to get to him enough, or b) has the talent for an effective pass rush. All I'm sayin' is that will change when he plays the likes of the Giants D and the Eagle pass rush back to back. Just an honest opinion. Feel free to pull this back up if he throws for 300 yards against those teams. I'm betting he won't -with plenty of sacks and picks in tow, just like the "old" Warner.

Warner has been on the bench of the owner in my league, and spot started twice so far. His primary QB is Drew brees.

I have Warner on all 3 of my teams. Unfortunately, the rest of my rosters stink, so I have 2 .500 teams and one 4-5-1 team.

Interesting stat on MNF last night.

Dan Fouts threw for 300 yards or more in 28% of his games in his career.

That is good for #2 All-Time.

Kurt Warner is #1 with FORTY FIVE PERCENT of his games throwing 300+ yards.

That. Is. Nuts.

I picked up Warner off waivers in week 1 and haven't looked back. I drafted Rogers and he's riding my pine as backup. 2nd best pickup was M.Moore as my backup to Parker :-)

I have Brees AND Warner in a start 2QB league.......and I'm only 6-4  .Top scorer by a mile.Rest of my team is good......just unlucky bad early schedule.

The day after my draft they announced Warner as the starter and I picked him up right away, even though I already had Ben Roethlisberger, Eli Manning and Tarvaris Jackson as my QBs.I couldn't pass him up, and boy am I glad I didn't.

This is fair enough, and I dont really disagree. I think he should be OK at home against the Giants, but playing in Philly in late November sounds like a Warner turnover fest. But thats to take nothing away from whats he's done so far. He has been outstanding NFL and FF wise..

9-1 and 6-4 in the two leagues I have him

not sure what his ADP was after he was announced as the starter, but I doubt there is anyone outplaying their draft position more than him.....

plus he seems like a really cool guy..........

Probably not an exaggeration to say I'd be winless without him (he makes a bad team mediocre), and I got him in the last round as an afterthought.
