Both these guys are likely on WWs around the league and I noted via box scores both had a healthy number of targets. Didn't pay close attention to either games, but could homer chime in on how they looked and if this is a trend or aberration?

Clayton somehow managed to get and stay in Gruden's doghouse after his phenomenal rookie season. With Bryant hurting his knee, Clayton has a good chance to re-emerge. Strong buy.

Believe the official line was "knee fatigue"...should be fine, I believe.

I'll be hoping L Robinson develops into a solid WR this year, StL will have a lot of garbage time, and he should get his share of looks. Steven Jackson, Avery and Robinson should be the three main targets on that team.

I think Laurent Robinson is a bona fide WR3 on most fantasy teams. Not a Ram fan, but I've thought Robinson had potential since he came into the league. Some will say that the Rams present a bad situation, but I see a team that will have to throw to keep up. You can count on Bulger to throw the ball 30-40 times a game, and if week 1 is any indication, roughly two thirds of those targets will go to WRs. While I expect them to try to involve SJax more going forward, I still think 8 or 9 targets per game and 5 or 6 catches are reasonable expectations going forward for Robinson.

I think Laurent Robinson is a bona fide WR3 on most fantasy teams. Not a Ram fan, but I've thought Robinson had potential since he came into the league. Some will say that the Rams present a bad situation, but I see a team that will have to throw to keep up. You can count on Bulger to throw the ball 30-40 times a game, and if week 1 is any indication, roughly two thirds of those targets will go to WRs. While I expect them to try to involve SJax more going forward, I still think 8 or 9 targets per game and 5 or 6 catches are reasonable expectations going forward for Robinson.

I live here in Saint Louis and they have been raving about him all preseason. I completely agree with your assessment that he will be a good WR3 in a PPR league on his garbage time performances.

Saw above about Clayton being in Gruden's doghouse. I could be wrong, but I didn't think his lack of production was all a result of being in the doghouse. I thought he had also battled with nagging injuries and just general lack of production....?

I don't believe in Clayton. It isn't that he got in the dog house and never played--he has been starting for years and just hasn't consistently produced. For years. He may have a great year but I am not buying.

Chucky's offense revolved around one WR. Clayton stopped being the one WR after he was in the doghouse -- it went from Galloway to Bryant. The new offense is designed to spread the ball instead of focusing on one guy; Clayton could very well respond with a nice rebound year this season. He probably won't hit 1,000 yds but he looked good Sunday.

Considering Laurent Robinson has 1 career TD, are people seeing him as more of a red zone threat than he has shown so far? That is one thing that kept me away.

FWIW, in his last two games Clayton has posted his two highest yardage totals since his rookie season. The current staff really likes him, as evidenced by the fact that he's not even being challenged for the #2 spot (despite the staff being really high on rookie Stroughter).

Robinson has size that Avery doesn't but also has good speed. I've got no beef with Avery, but I think this has the potential to be a 1a-1b situation rather than a 1-2 situation. I think Robinson's got potential in all facets of the passing game. His lack of TD's are from being a rookie in Atlanta pre-Ryan and then being injured last year. Many people expected him to send Roddy White to the bench in 2009.

As for Clayton, I don't see how the doghouse or Chucky's game plan has anything to do with his lack of production since 2004. As someone else posted, Clayton has been playing quite a bit over the last few years and was actually applauded as a blocker so I am skeptical that Gruden would rig it so that he didn't get targets. And if that offense was geared to go through one WR, are you telling me that defensive coordinators couldn't figure that out and stop the likes of Antonio Bryant?

Galloway and Bryant dominated the passing game simply because they both outplayed Clayton. It's that simple. Can Clayton turn it around? Sure, and maybe he has.

If he was in Gruden's doghouse, what got him there? Maybe not elevating his game to match his talent? Hmm.

I just picked up Laurent Robinson as I agree that he could put up nice WR3 stats as STL should need to pass a lot to stay in games. Other than Avery, McMike, and SJax, there’s really no one else to take targets. No worries of any other TE or even a 3rd WR to speak of.

Can anyone who watched the game explain this? If he doesn’t use his hands to catch the ball, what does he use? His helmet? Is yahoo trying to say that this guy is raw?

He cradled the big catch between 2 defenders. It was somewhat of a body catch. Trust me,he can pluck the ball but in traffic it seemed like he is not atttacking the ball in the air. Not sure why.
