Lesean McCoy? How concerned are we? (3 Viewers)

This is the last time I will address this. My stance didnt change, as I got more info, I provided it. Now you want me suspended for knowing more than you on something? I am not outing my source or even wanted to hint that I knew he had herpes, but insult from people not in the know, like yourself, came... so I let more and more until I just didnt care. I have info, it is yours to choose what to do with it. You want to get upset about it, some may have ignored it and others use what I say how they like.

Why do you think he knows he is healthier than he has been? Why do you think he sounds confident he will play? Why do you think he isnt worried his soft tissue injury will fault him? His "stuff" cleared up. Last I heard he was still pretty rough and wasnt gonna play, so this is good news. This can heal in the turn around pretty quick after the virus runs its course, I hear.

Tommy, if you are such a great poster why only 78 likes on 1500 posts? People seem not to like anything you say, so take the hint. Stop the attacks on me or the suspension that will come will likely be to you. I provide info and you want me suspended because you dont believe it. I believe info is what the community wants for them to make the decision on, not someone like you who would prevent people from sharing info because they might not like it or believe it.

Oh and to VaTerp, how many people had the info on Calvin when he was gonna retire? Didnt stop people from insulting him either.

Guys. Let's please keep this to McCoy and not going back and forth to each other. Wheels thinks he has something but won't disclose sources. That's dangerous territory at best so please let's leave it that and drop that angle. I'll take you at your word above wheels and this will be your last time you address it. Done.

For everyone else, please keep it focused on info and analysis for McCoy and how you think he'll do in this week's game.

Thanks.

J

I dont see him doing well against Seattle in Seattle. Even if he sits, Glee shouldnt do well either. If in Buffalo I would think differently, but Seattle? the weather is supposed to be bad to according to report.

Yeah if McCoy plays I bet he splits with Gilislee and then resumes normal work-load after the bye.

As far as this game goes McCoy still may have some PPR value with limited touches. I think he ends up with 3-4 catches for 25 yards and 30 rushing yards.  So if you are looking for a 10 point floor with a potential for more if he feels good then go for it.  I wouldn't start Gilislee. I see many are.

The ignore feature is a beautiful thing.  I've used that one awhile ago for your very reasoning.  Quality not quantity.

You joined this forum in April. I joined it in April of 2006. Back then there was no such thing as a Like button.

please stop everyone and re-read Joe's post.

TIA

So I'm trying to respect Joe's request and keep this to McCoy.

In the context of info on his injury I'll just say that I'm well aware of the past, separate STD accusations from his X-girlfriend and Marcus Vick. As a McCoy owner I'd much prefer that he had a Herpes flare up than a hamstring based on my limited knowledge of both and how they'd impact a NFL RB.  So the idea that people are calling someone out b/c they "don't like it" is silly.  I just like credibility.  And if you are going to accuse an individual and an organization of flat out faking and lying and throwing out sources and people in the know who can physically confirm things then I think we should all be held to a certain level of scrutiny and accountability there.

One of the best things about the SP is that we do have posters here who share info and insight that is not available elsewhere.  But again, credibility is important. What I see from the timeline and pattern of comments related is a complete fabrication made to fit someone's narrative.  You can say it hasnt been disproved but that doesnt make it true.  I could make a lot of speculative and provocative statements right now that couldnt be disproved but they would be completely fabricated.  But again, to each their own and people can believe what they choose.

Anyways, it will be very hard to trust McCoy in a tough matchup on the road on MNF where you could be facing a zero if he's not active and you don't have other MNF options.  Some like me may not have other good options and may be looking at rolling the dice.  With Bennett now out and Chancellor likely sitting again I think the matchup is a little less daunting.

Still a very tough situation this week for FF owners with limited options at the RB spot.  Hopefully there are no set backs.

Watched a good amount of LeSean McCoy at #Bills practice just now. Looking good cutting, but as he's said, game situation different.
I don't want to fall for this narrative again but the mere fact that he's still able to cut to some degree is obviously good news. Having another three more days until game time also helps.

How does losing Bennett effect SEA's run defense? I watched Hightower's touches vs. them last week and he was working with a very fair amount of room.

I agreed with the rest but I'm done with that crap.

McCoy had a history of hamstring issues dating back to last season (at least as far as his career in Buffalo goes). He came back week 6 and did well through week 13. He got injured again in week 14 and didn't finish out the season. So this is something that the team should have been handling carefully. They even mentioned, prior to the Miami game, of not wanting to go through what they did last year with him hamstring. So they played him against Miami, despite that, and we all know what happened.

This is a risky play in FF. He may not be active. Even if he is, playing in Seattle against the defense, regardless of those injuries on Seattle's side, I wouldn't be too optimistic about his stat line if 100% healthy.

For some reason I think of Bennett mostly for his pass rush but know that he is generally a disruptive force up front.

According to the PFF article below he has a "top 10 run stop percentage among 4-3 DEs for each of the past three seasons:

https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-seahawks-de-michael-bennett-is-still-underrated/

And this ESPN article describes him as "elite at stopping the run as well."

It looks like Frank Clark and Cassius Marsh will get the bulk of snaps in Bennett's absence.  I have no clue about either but will them playing instead of Bennett has to be an upgrade in matchup for an activated McCoy.  I guess how much of one is the question.

It was only 1 game, and the other 4 games he played in before that he did very well. He's looked solid again this year when called upon.
Just traded Blount for McCoy and I have Gillislee.  TBH I am not sure I want to start either one but my options aren't great and, ATM, I think I am leaning McCoy.

Yes.  Thanks.

I was very on the fence about it.  I worry that either McCoy will either blow out the hammy entirely, play ineffectively ROS and not get hurt, or every week will be like this one with the "Will he, won't he?".

Blount isn't flashy (actually he's flashier than most realize) but he's the hammer on the leagues best offense and the last four weeks have proven that there are plenty of table scraps for him to feast on.

But we'll see.

This is a fleecing, primarily because Blount's ROS is one of the worst where as McCoy's is one of the best.

Anyway, I'm playing him this week.

When you hurt your "hammy" midgame and need to be carried off, then practice all week, play and supposedly aggravate it even more then just miss one game? Quick, quick, quick recovery from an injury that was originally reported to have him miss many weeks by reporters never with a reported MRI mind you. Some "hammys" that have a history of being hurt like McCoys have must heal really really quick, outstanding healing power. I'm 100% sure his leg is 100%, but still shouldnt have an much production in Seattle. Seattle isnt going to score a ton, so the one thing he does have is it should be a close game so they wont get away from the run game. Plus when you injury your "hammy," you always have that risk of reinjury and drama.

Clay Matthews...out one week.

Cobb, limited practices ,  out at least one week.

Have yet to hear of an MRI for wother of them and Cobb has been dealing  with it for weeks .

Reporters speculate all sorts of things or read into what coaches have said...which is why there ends  up being conflicted information .

Or at least limp. ;)
From what I'm reading there isn't any limp.  He's running and cutting very well right now.  That may change during the game because he could have a set back, but if you don't have better options I would trot McCoy out there for your fantasy teams.

I do have Gillislee in case something goes awry before kickoff but I'm starting him at flex over some halfway solid PPR options like Enunwa/Marvin Jones.

It sounds like he's close to 100%, with the bye week coming I just have to hope Rex/medical staff can't really be dumb enough to risk him again versus two week rest if he is good to go. I know, Rex, but still seems implausible.

Matchup sucks but there is not RB in the NFL who has a more brutal schedule than McCoy and he's done just fine against some nasty run defenses, finds a way to get his either on the ground or as outlet receiver.

Sitting him for C. West/Zeke this week. Can't risk another 1 point game in a key matchup for me. If things were different I would have loved watching him play for me on a Mon Night.

I'm playing him over halfway decent options, those are not halfway decent options. Those are good to great options.

Mike Evans blew up for me on Thursday so it gives me more wiggle room to roll the dice.

This probably doesn't help anyone inform their decisions but I always like to see who people decide to start/sit over a particular player.

I am starting McCoy as my #2 RB over R.Matthews, Gillislee & Derrick Henry.

I view Matthews as the safer option this week with a plus match-up and the fact that he should at least have a couple shots at a short yardage TD.  Gillislee is a fallback plan if there are negative reports between Sunday and kickoff on Monday.  Henry is a pure dart throw hoping that he will get some more opportunities and break off a huge play or two.

But McCoy has the most talent and upside so that is the direction I am going.

Agreed, I have similar options and am starting Enunwa, easily.  It's good to have the option to bench McCoy if something happens Monday.

Cant trust it.  dont have Gill.

Starting West (Forte and Booker) over him in one..

Forte, and Riddick in another...ppr

At this point, I'd be happy with 70 yards and a TD AND no further injury.  Starting him with Jonathan Stewart this week.

Shady has the type of schedule down the stretch after the bye that can single-handedly win you a championship;.    If you can trade for McCoy, I'd strongly suggest doing so.  Doesn't get much softer than this: for the NFL's most run-heavy offense:

11  Sun Nov 20 1:00 pm  at Cincinnati Bengals 22nd vs. the run

12  Sun Nov 27 1:00 pm      Jacksonville Jaguars 27th vs. the run

13  Sun Dec 4 4:05 pm  at Oakland Raiders 28th vs. the run

14  Sun Dec 11 1:00 pm      Pittsburgh Steelers 16th vs. the run

15  Sun Dec 18 1:00 pm      Cleveland Browns 31st vs. the run

16  Sat Dec 24 1:00 pm      Miami Dolphins 30th vs. the run

This is exactly the reason I traded for him.  Soft run defenses and four of the last five at home. Although Oakland, Pittsburgh and Cinci could all stifle the run game by getting out to big leads.  Fortunately McCoy is useful in the passing game too.

But none of that matters if Buffalo is rushing him back too soon...again.

I'm starting to get very nervous about starting him this week.  I really, really wish they would rest him but I think McCoy seems like a guy who hates sitting and will push himself just to be on the field no matter what and Rex is such a "players coach" that he can't say no despite knowing (probably) that in the long run it would be better for the team to give him another week off.

I have him in and could possibly pick up prosise before gametime if something happens.

Other options are J. Matthews, Crowell and C. Coleman

I have McCoy and Glee, and am trailing by 1.1 points in a non-ppr league. Opponent has no one else left. Must-win scenario. Tinkering with the idea of starting Glee, in case McCoy starts and tweaks something right off the bat. I feel like Glee is more of a lock for 11 yards, than McCoy is to not re-aggravate whatever if he plays.

Hehe.  You got this but I know how you feel..we've all been there.  TILT!!

If hightower can rush for 102 yards against this elite run D, gotta think there's at least a chance McCoy can get close right?

I sure am hoping so.
