That was kind of dumb. With the way the refs are calling the game you could have just mowed 'em all down one side and had a better chance to snag a ricochet.
The Texans beg to differ.Good game, 9er fans - you have the best team in the NFL right now
We will see.The Texans beg to differ.Good game, 9er fans - you have the best team in the NFL right now
You play to win the game. The Lions should bum rush the QB here. Ask MOP...you play to win the game!![]()

Why are the Lions giving up???????

Wins over the Packers and Lions vs. Dolphins and JaguarsYeah, it's really close to being the same kind of 2-0The Texans beg to differ.Good game, 9er fans - you have the best team in the NFL right now
Bears fans were in the niner game thread last week saying the exact same thing. Meaningless at this point in the season anyway.Bring itThe Texans beg to differ.Good game, 9er fans - you have the best team in the NFL right now
Wrong. They would be dogs in Baltimore, Houston. Doubt they would br favored by Vegas at NE, even with that performance today. Still, they are tough everywhere and would be between a pick and a FG even against the best teams on the road. There is no team in the nfl that would be favored against the 49ers right now. Home or away.
They just rolled 2 of the best teams in the NFL. It is early, but you will be laying points in Vegas to bet them against anyone heading into week 3. Theoretically speaking of course.I'm not hyping the 49ers the best in week 2.

Both GB and DET have some issues on defense. 49ers are playing solid ball on offense, and great defense. But it's still week 2 in the NFL.They just rolled 2 of the best teams in the NFL. you're right about meaningless, HOU needs to worry about being better than the Ravens first before they can even think about us.not saying we're the best, just addressing HOU vs SFBears fans were in the niner game thread last week saying the exact same thing. why did Harbaugh leave the entire field open like that? One bounce and that was the Lions ball for the taking. SF is damned lucky that it died like it did...there were a bunch of lions ready to pounce on it. it was a brilliant kick - especially with the new fair catch rule that makes the traditional kick pointless to try. And yes, it's worked before. I'm sure it's worked plenty of times...and that's vs. a normal set up. the niners put all 11 guys up at midfield, so pooching it over their head was the smart thing to do. I can't believe they called a time out and then left it all open a second time. Why even try that ridiculous pooch onside kick? Has one of those ever even worked?
Texans playing at Ford Field on Thanksgiving...that'll be an entertaining game and we'll have a much better idea by then. Lions have Tennessee and Minny up next, so they should recover to 3-1 before the early bye. Still a looooooong way to go.Wins over the Packers and Lions vs. Dolphins and JaguarsYeah, it's really close to being the same kind of 2-0The Texans beg to differ.Good game, 9er fans - you have the best team in the NFL right nowDid I say anything about the quality of the two wins? No. I just said the Texans are a better team.
Seriously? You should be happy the officials kept the Lions in the game. Oof.well i never expected a win tonight...just wanted a good game and I got it for the most part. who knows how much better it might have been with competent officials.
Definitely a must cuff for Gore owners.I love Hunter but this is still Gore's team. I'm not sure if Hunter is a 20 carry guy. I do like him a lot though.
Don't get me wrong, I think SF is the best team and is my pick to win the SuperBowl (predicting an all-Harbaugh Superbowl, with Jim winning). Just don't think they'd be favored on the road against very good teams - teams they would beat on a neutral site.okay. whatever you say.Wrong. They would be dogs in Baltimore, Houston. Doubt they would br favored by Vegas at NE, even with that performance today. Still, they are tough everywhere and would be between a pick and a FG even against the best teams on the road. There is no team in the nfl that would be favored against the 49ers right now. Standark kickoffs where it happens on accident against a bunch of linemen that are just looking to throw blocks is a completely different story. I meant has it ever worked as an actual onside kick? I'm not sure why you're acting like this is some kind of new idea. It's been tried before when the other team didn't put someone back and I can't recall it ever working a single time. Ever. Yeah, they don't have someone back to return. What they do have is 11 guys that are starting 10 yards closer to that spot than your 11 guys. Detroit wasn't even close to recovering it and I'm not sure why you're making a big deal out of the ball "dying" either. Unless the ball bounces 20 yards straight up into the air (which is physically impossible on a kick like that) all that the ball rolling will do is give the kicking team a few extra yards to grow bionic legs that make them 30x faster than the receiving team.why did Harbaugh leave the entire field open like that? One bounce and that was the Lions ball for the taking. i wasn't blaming them for the loss...you kick four fgs you're usually going to lose. I was speaking to the general suckitude of the officiating overall and it taking away from the quality of the game. i.e. it was close to a good game - but with competent officiating I think it would have been a better overall fan experience. So i'm not blaming them for losing, but your flipside contention that the refs kept the Lions in it is absurd. The 49ers were holding egregiously with impunity and had two pivotal plays allowed after the clock had expired early in the game to give them the lead. They were bad in every way possible.Seriously? You should be happy the officials kept the Lions in the game. Oof.well i never expected a win tonight...just wanted a good game and I got it for the most part. who knows how much better it might have been with competent officials.
watch it again...all it takes is one little muff and it's anyone's ball. there were 3 or 4 lions right there to pounce on it if Williams didn't grab it cleanly.Standark kickoffs where it happens on accident against a bunch of linemen that are just looking to throw blocks is a completely different story. The biggest play of the game for the lions was a bad PI call. "holding with impunity" - you have to be kidding.i wasn't blaming them for the loss...you kick four fgs you're usually going to lose. 3 weeks ago I'd have agreed with you. The problem is, SF has gone on the road and dominated GB and also dominated Det in the 1st 2 games of the season. Both GB and Det were considered to be some of the best teams in the NFL. GB moreso than Det obviously. SF looked like they were in total control of both games and as you watched them (I watched both) it just never felt like the outcome was ever in doubt. Even when the score was still close. I relate it to what Alabama is doing in college football.Don't get me wrong, I think SF is the best team and is my pick to win the SuperBowl (predicting an all-Harbaugh Superbowl, with Jim winning). Just don't think they'd be favored on the road against very good teams - teams they would beat on a neutral site.okay. whatever you say.Wrong. They would be dogs in Baltimore, Houston. The officials were bad for both sides. The WRs are playing old school football again, having to beat off everyone in the secondary.Seriously? You should be happy the officials kept the Lions in the game.
