Lions to win 12 games this year (1 Viewer)

It's time. This is their year and the stars are aligned for them to make a big run. They have a weak division and few flaws in their game. Arguably the best QB in the NFC behind Michael Vick. Their defensive line will be more oppressive than a Communist regime. Their passing game was dominant with 2nd and 3rd string QBs. A lot of people will be jumping on the bandwagon around week 6, but remember who made this call early.

You mean the guy who's career stats compare most similarly to DEREK ANDERSON?Let's not even go there with this.

Romo

Freeman

Brees - seriously...

Rodgers - see above

Ryan

Bradford - oh yeah

ETA: just off the top of my head are those

I'm on board with this! With my last pick, I took the Lions defense. I will be starting them all year long WITH CONFIDENCE

He said Arguably...And I could argue Staffords Talent puts him in the top 5 of NFC.

Now I can say I think the OP is over zealous, but still Stafford will be a top QB this year. I know hes been hurt, but hes not hurt now, people who hold injury in the ability of a player does not understand the game.

I say Stafford throws 26 TDs this year and 12 picks, thats a pretty good year.

Romo, Freeman really?

Stafford is a long ways from being named a top NFC quaterback, but we will see. Detroit has a tough schedule, so 12-4 is being optimistic unless you think they are a super bowl quality team. I am optimistic and the excitement over this team is justified, but still see 10 or 11 wins tops. Most likely 10, including an 'upset' win today.

The Chicago Cubs and LA Clippers of the NFL. 8 wins perhaps, but they will start 0-1.
:goodposting: Sacramento...go root for your Niners..

Detroit is not even a playoff team. Let's see them get there without discussing them as a 12 win team.

:blackdot: I know it's difficult to actually understand what a good team looks like being a Raiders fan and all, but the Lions will be the talk of the town in a few weeks.

The talk of Sacramento? :hophead:

lol this is a ridiculous post. a kid who can't even stay on the field for an entire season is #2 behind VICK?

rodgers and brees would like to have a word with you.

Lions play the Falcons and Saints this year. Once they get tearing through them, get back to me. Brees and Rodgers are okay, but they fold once they get some real pressure on them. Stafford has been practicing against what may be one of the best defenses in NFL history so he will be used to the pressure. Let's see how those other QBs do when they have 800 lbs of man meat crushing them in the backfield every play.

I'm an Eagles fan. I have no stake in the Lions today. I think they win by at least 14. Bucs are overrated because of their cupcake schedule last year.

Yeah. He said arguably. It's not even arguable that a guy with a career completion percentage under 55% (yeah, Derek Anderson territory) and THROWS MORE INTERCEPTIONS THAN TOUCHDOWNS is close to the guys I listed. Laughable.

I'll just quote myself replying to your lunacy above...ETA: and I like the Lions. But saying he's the #2 QB in the NFC is so far off that there aren't enough words to describe how stupid a statement it is...

AhahahhahahaSo they fold under pressure huh??? Is that why they have won the previous two Superbowls?

An hour before week 1 kickoff is always the best time of the year for Lion fans. So stop busting his balls and let him enjoy it.

They fold just like the Superbowl-winning QBs that they are, right?
Jeff Hostetler and Trent Dilfer have SB rings too. Your point is null and void.
Dude, just stop. If you're comparing Brees and Rodgers to Hostetler and Dilfer you really don't watch much football. Good grief. Your arguments are just pathetic. Just stop.

So, when Stafford makes the Pro Bowl this year how stupid will this look?

So, when Stafford makes the Pro Bowl this year how stupid will this look?
Not very...couldn't he make the Pro Bowl and still not be as good as Brees or Rodgers? Of course, that's not the only argument. We could point to the stupid Pro Bowl format and show how guys like David Garrard can make it in on non-playoff teams. If somebody had said Garrard wasn't a top 5 AFC QB would it look stupid when he made the Pro Bowl?

Not sure about 12, but i've been on board with the Lions for a while. They should make a run at the Norris. they look MUCHO better on both sides of the ball.

Stafford looks money. Calvin is Megatron. Restore the Roar!!!

Put a big hurting on the supposed playoff contending Bucs in week 1. Defense was absolutely dominating the first half, although the heat and cramps started to catch up with them. This won't be a problem as the season wears on. Stafford looked like a man among boys carving up last year's #9 defense.

Next week features a Chiefs team that should be fired up after a humiliating loss @ home to the Bills in week 1.
