He would have been about my 50th guess on the Bucs.

In a way it makes perfect sense. How else do you expect a 5'9" RB to last 12 years in the NFL?

That's some noticeable fantasy impact there. Downgrade everyone on the list, of course, and upgrade:

Starters with less competition:

Thomas Jones

Brandon Marshall

Some SD WR

Second-stringers getting a chance:

Earnest Graham

Pierre Thomas

Aaron Stecker

Darrell Jackson

So the shark moves are to go after the following players:

- Pierre Thomas (we already knew this one)

- Ernest Graham or possibly Caddy Williams

- Vincent Jackson (and possibly Buster Davis if Chambers is still banged up)

- Stokley, DJax or Martinez (which one will start?)

Deuce McAllister (NO)Will Smith (NO)Donte Whitner (BUF)Leon Washington (NYJ)Warrick Dunn (TB)Jason Ferguson (MIA)Eddie Royal (DEN)Ben Utecht (CIN)Malcolm Floyd (SD)Dawan Landry (BAL)Cornelius Griffen (WAS)Didn't see this anywhere.
Some major fantasy implications here should these suspensions occur.Royal going down impacts Cutler significantly. No Deuce and no Bush bumps up the values for Stecker and Thomas. No Dunn could make Graham a legit RB1.No Leon means even more work for Thomas Jones, raising his value.

Probably gives Jesse Chatman a little boost

So what is the rumored suspension period for these guys? sounds like it wasnt certain that they all would be suspended.

yeah, but is this an actual 'roids positive, or a positive on some sort of masking agent?
I'm pretty sure the league treats them the same. To answer your question, everything I read on Deuce and Smith said it was a masking agent.

John Clayton was on Sportscenter earlier today saying the players were notified 2 weeks ago so they've been preparing their appeals since then. He said it will probably be another 2 weeks before all the appeals can be heard so their looking at the 4 game suspensions starting Week #11 at the earliest.

Just in time for the fantasy playoffs. My Jesse Chatman pickup last week is looking like my new Larry Johnson replacement down the road now.

To me, the key question is when.

Are we looking at the next week or two, or with appeals, four weeks or more from now?

Furthermore, Sanantonio Holmes needs to be included in this discussion, though weed is a different "substance" than diuretics, the ramifications and timing are, or should be the same. I guess the only difference with Holmes is that he, by admission, is already convicted and could pay the price as soon as next week, in addition to this week's team imposed suspension.

Leon and Eddie make zero sense to me. Can't wait for the actual details of this to surface
The report I heard on ESPN was with a reporter from Denver and she did not mention Royal. She mentioned Duece and Smith, but said of the other players involved there were no big name guys. Some names on the list look a tad off. If Warrick Dunn is on the list, I will will be extremely suprised.

She actually reported NO Broncos were on the list... :goodposting:

I'm a little puzzled.

I thought I saw some quote that most of the guys on the list were BIG guys looking to lose weight so they took the diuretic. Most of these guys listed here are RB, DB, and receivers.

Per John Clayton's video on ESPN,com, there are other many other big names involved that haven't been mentioned. (He mentions this towards the end of the video)http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3661845

You can also listen to Josina Anderson's interview after Claytons. She is the reporter fom FOX-Denver who broke the story.

Can we get any other thoughts on this process (assuming there will be suspensions)? or the real accuracy of the information with respect to the player list?

None of these guys will be suspended
Thanks for checking in Commissioner Goodell...
good to know the guy can't have a dissenting opinion from the "they will get 4 games" mantra. :thumbup:I will not even think to question it myself.
Its more on how he phrased it. He phrased it as a statement and not an opinion. Had he said "I doubt any of these guys will be suspended"...That would be an opinion.

Yeah Linus. Please consider the way you phrase your posts in the future. You upset people when you make "statements" as opposed to "opinions".Shees

Anybody else having a Travis Henry 2007 vibe from this? Remember last year Henry failed his drug test and his suspension was supposed to start in Week x. Then it was pushed back to Week y. Then it was pushed back to Week z. And finally it simply never happened. Not saying that's going to happen here but if the hammer isn't dropped immediately I tend to wonder if it will be dropped at all based on how Henry beat the system last year despite the fact he failed a drug test and everyone knew he failed a drug test.

I could be wrong, but I thought you had to already be in the league program before being suspended. They don't publicize the first infraction because the only consiquence is entering the program and being tested more often. I'm pretty sure this is the way it used to be done, whether Goodell changed it is anyones guess. If I am correct, some of these players may not get suspended.

Would appreciate anyone with knowledge of the NFL drug policy setting me straight if I'm wrong.

Terrible post, terrible swipe at a model citizen who buys homes for single moms every year, sure he can afford it but so can a ton of players and they don't do it. Dunn is not on steroids, this rash of roids is obviouly due to something out of the ordinary like these water pills or whatever folks have been sucking down. Dunn weighs 185, he is not a steroid guy and I think this post deserved a comeback. I think if you were to know more about Dunn that you wouldn't be so reckless in your post. If you were joking, let me the first to tell you that you missed the mark. Sorry Scooter
