Live Draft Day Suggestions (Draft kit, etc) (1 Viewer)

We've always done our drafts online, but this year are transitioning to a live draft. Couple of quick questiosn:

1. What draft kit (if any) have you used and what made its use successful or not. Suggestions for managing the board as the commish, etc?

2. Besides the suggestion of a stripper, what things have you done to make draft day a fun one for the crew?

1. FanDraft with a projecter is a lot of fun, if that's an option for you. Keep in mind someone will have to operate it, which is a pain in the rear if you're also trying to manage your own team at the same time.Otherwise we use the big paper draft board from CBS. Each owner puts up their own stickers when they make a pick (kind of like walking up to the podium to announce the draft pick). This is fun as well.2. BBQ, beer, trash talking... you really don't have to try hard, the live draft is going to be 1000000 times more fun than an online draft no matter what. You'll never go back.

#1 - Get a good draft board My suggestion

#2 - The team with the worst record from the year before must be the Champions Sticker B#$%@ (he must put up all the champs stickers for him)

#3 - Have wireless internet so people can bring their lap tops, iphones, etc

#4 - Power & Glory must be played in the background

#5 - Lots of good food. Its a great time to grill and have everyone bring a dish

#6 - After the draft have the biggest know it all in your league grade everybody's draft

we get a draft board from draftkit.com

the championship mug is awarded - every year the champion gets a beer mug with the name of the league, a football and his name and the championship year engraved on it. this is given out prior to the draft so the champ can drink from it during the draft.

we usually get a keg but people are pretty good about drinking during, it is usually a slower all day thing so no one has ever gotten wasted, always some silly picks but the beer can't be blamed for those, then everyone hangs out after, we organize the schedule and see who everyone is playing week 1, etc. some guys get a poker game going or something afterwards.

the team that loses the toilet bowl week 14 has to log in all the picks into the live draft for the remote team (owner located across the country)

the same guy also has to cook all the food during the draft while wearing an apron that says "I suck at fantasy football"

this year the league is getting together to play 9 holes before the draft then we are heading out to the (cough) gentleman's club after the draft is over. so it will be really be an all day event. I am really looking forward to it.
