Lofa Tatupu (1 Viewer)

think it was probably dd lewis, wasn't it?

I'm just reading into the box score, though -- 8-3.

Yep ... it was Lewis. Going to want to keep an eye on this.

Seahawks Notebook: Hill hit takes out teammate Tatupu

By CLARE FARNSWORTH

P-I REPORTER

TAMPA, Fla. -- As Buccaneers wide receiver Ike Hilliard lay motionless on the turf at Raymond James Stadium, Leroy Hill took a deep breath, rolled his eyes and walked slowly toward the Seahawks' bench.

It was Hill's helmet-to-chin hit that dropped Hilliard and prompted a cart to race onto the field.

Eventually, Hilliard was able to stand and walk to the cart. No one was more relieved than the Seahawks' linebacker and leading tackler.

"I was very happy," Hill said in the locker room after the Seahawks' 20-10 loss on Sunday night.

"I never wish to hurt anybody. I know it's part of the game. But I was so glad for him. I went over and apologized to him."

It was a bang-bang play that knocked two players out of the game. In addition to Hilliard, who was taken to the hospital but should be OK, Seahawks middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu also received a concussion and did not return.

"Obviously we're very concerned about him, but we think he's going to be OK," Bucs coach Jon Gruden said of Hilliard. "All the preliminary reports are that he'll be overnight in the hospital and he's going to be OK."

Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren offered a similar prognosis on Tatupu -- without the hospital stay.

"He got a concussion and is still a little foggy," Holmgren said.

Tatupu was in the locker room after the game but wasn't available for comment.

After Tatupu went out, D.D. Lewis stepped in and finished with a game-high 11 tackles, including two for losses.

I do wish a speedy recovery to Tatupu he's a classy player and a great talent but in in regards to the game... anybody think he plays next week or this is a lingering injury because I'm considering picking up D.D lewis.

PFW Whipsers

Our sources in Seattle tell us Seahawks MLB Lofa Tatupu has been playing at less-than-full strength all season. Not only has he been playing with a cast on his injured right hand, he also has continued to feel the effects of a knee injury suffered in the final preseason game.

He looked to be moving around pretty good before he was injured (concussion) last week, appears good to go this week.

Seahawks homer here. I have to agree with PFW, Lofa does not look the same after his knee injury. Before he hurt his knee he was looking outstanding, but ever since then he has looked much slower and not anywhere near what we've come to expect from him when he's fully healthy. But it seems I could say that about the Seahawks D as a whole, everyone looks worse this year.

So while he may be good to go this week and most likely will play, I've come to expect less from him this year until he looks like he's fully healed.

I seen him play vs Giants, thought he looked like he was playing more up-to-speed in the Tampa game.

he looked great the last two weeks (was a beast before the big hit on Ike), he was on pace for his secound 10+ game before the concussion.

Me too... he has posted good numbers the passed 2 weeks he's filled in mid-game. I'm rolling with D.D next week if Tatupu is out.

I'm in a deep dynasty league (53 man roster). Is DD Lewis worth a roster spot for an owner who doesn't own Lofa? He's put up some nice numbers the past 2 games. I'm leaning towards dropping Pat Thomas for him.

I gave up on rosters D.D Lewis and went after Napoleon Harris. He just got named the starting MLB for the rest of the season, could be worth something maybe a LB3... 2 if lucky. Either way he's on the field for sure.

Sorry I did not feel like starting a new topic for this but is Tatupu back to playing at the level from the last couple of seasons. Back to back solid game and now a great matchup against the Redskins this week. 10+ tackles this week is looking pretty good.
