Sergeant Kevin Ahlbrand, president of the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police, says the police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown has been vilified in the press and by politicians before the facts are known.

Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson said the suspect was preparing to sell a large amount of marijuana.

Ahlbrand said he doesn't know if Wilson will testify before the grand jury. But he doesn't think the grand jury will indict him: "My personal belief is that they will not return an indictment, based on the facts that I know right now."

Missouri State Senator Jamilah Nasheed is demanding that St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch step aside and let a special prosecutor handle the case.

She has warned that failure to indict Wilson will make the Ferguson rioting up to this point "seem like a picnic compared to the havoc that will likely occur, because the black community will never accept that there was an impartial investigation from (McCulloch's) office."

In a statement Tuesday night, Gov. Jay Nixon, a Democrat, urged a "vigorous prosecution" to "achieve justice in the shooting death of Michael Brown." But Nixon also refused to remove the "democratically elected" St. Louis County prosecutor.

Daryl Parks, one of the attorneys representing Michael Brown's family, told Fox News he believes the evidence shows that Michael Brown was trying to surrender when he was killed.

"Quite possibly, whatever happened at the car probably made him (Wilson) mad. And so, whatever his mind set is, he got out of the car it caused him to take the action he took. He had shot Michael once, Michael turned around, Michael was wounded, there was no reason to continue shooting him...He didn't have to kill him like that."

And what if Michael had been charging toward the officer, as some witnesses have said?

"Even if he was," Parks said, "he was already shot and wounded, he was a wounded man. So he wasn't a real threat to the officer at that point."

"If the grand jury doesn't indict, will you accept that?," Megyn Kelly asked Parks.

"Not necessarily, I think the grand jury has enough probable cause to at least charge the officer," he replied."They need to come down with an indictment."

And for a country of 300 million plus people, 300 is not a big number of people killed and is even very small compared to the numbers of murders each year. Police should be held accountable by some other agency, but this is a red herring compared to other problems in this country.

Just have his defense team question the witnesses, get a jury dominated by older white people, and then his lawyer argues the state can't prove it (which is probably true). And he'll walk.

For better or worse here, I agree. If GZ got off when he's not a cop and TM was much smaller than him (if I recall correctly), then certainly a cop who's much smaller than the victim will also.

The officer doesn't look like he is any way a victim of a severe beating. He stands around for a while, walks back and forth up and down the street. Doesn't call for an ambulance. I'm just not buying it.

Those videos were not high quality, clear videos so it isn't surprising you couldn't see swelling. Perhaps you would be able to discern major redness to his cheek, but just because you can't see it doesn't mean its not there. As to him standing there walking back and forth and not calling for an ambulance, his injury (assuming he had one) wasn't an immediate danger to his life. He had just shot someone. Personally, I'd give him a pass for not calling an ambulance at that time.

Whether a witness testifies or not is not a question of race though, it is the strategy employed by most defenses regardless of race. Absolutely a team of young black jurors would probably. hang him, but that is more of an indictment on the problems of black culture in this country and their immense felling of victimhood, most of which is only justified by history and not so much reality today.

So true. A jury selection will no doubt cause some tension. If it goes to trial, 'beyond a reasonable doubt will be heavily in play. A stupid move would be to with a charge of murder. That will be a total failure based on reasonable doubt once they bring character into play.

Even if that's true (and no evidence of any of it, including the hospitalization), it's been over 12 days. At some point a police report should have been filed. The fact that it wasn't bodes bad things for Officer Wilson and his defenders.

I don't understand how anyone could believe that article really happened. That would be like fracturing someone's orbital bone with your fist without leaving evidence on/under your skin.

Yet I believe you've conceded that if there was a fracture it could have been caused by the kid grabbing the cop and banging his head on something else like the steering wheel or the inside of the car door.

Again, doesn't fit with the allegations of the "beating" Wilson took, thus far.

As far as I've read, the initial reports were the officer tried to open the door up, he was too close to the kids, and the door sprung back on him.

Is there a report of the dead kid beating the officer in the head with the door? Missed that one.

None that I have read. It's speculation to explain where there was no sign of a struggle on the victim found on the victim in the autopsies.

The struggle itself is also unconfirmed, as is the alleged scuffle, the 'grabbing the officers gun', the shot inside the police car and many others (incl the distance between the officer and Brown when the latter was shot). Although we do have a video of Brown lying dead with no police car in sight
