Property itself is political. I don't think I'm one of the guilty ones besides the responses to the responses. But yeah, property and respect for it is inherently political. So isn't policing...so aren't administrative processes, like grand juries and public unions on the side of the police...
Everything involved in this story is poltical. That's why the WH is responding.

I am too. This is getting quickly out of hand. Peaceful protesters have gone home and now this is just criminals and thugs. I had to turn it off because the CNN guys were just pissing me off. Cars, buildings are on fire, highways shut down and all they can talk about is the fact the police may have used tear gas mixed in with the smoke cans and they are mad because the police are telling them to move back.I'm fine with LE using the heavy hand

Maybe not, but you have all the people out there waiting for one instance of the police doing anything out of line and so I imagine they are acting out of due caution at this point. I mean the bottom line is they can't win tonight. If they allow this to continue, the public will go after them for not doing their jobs. If they come down on people and start cracking heads, we will hear all these stories of abuse.

This is unacceptable in the United States. We are not a 3rd world country. No more "bae" or "bad #####es".
Do not idolize this lifestyle, have a little class.
I know a lot of white people who are trying to mimick black culture and act as if they're the victims in America. A white person is 200x more likely to be a victim of aggravated assault from a black man than vice versa. Hopefully this balances things out a little bit.

As far as Oakland riots/protests go, there isn't much to this one. In fact I'm about to wander downtown to pickup a friend. This is a small, disorganized, amateur hour. Honestly, I'm somewhat disappointed this is the best this city could muster. Judging from the lack of a crowd, I'm going to guess there just isn't a huge amount of outrage over this decision.There goes Oaklandthey didn't let me down.
