I know this is a dumb question. But working on a Random Shots thing and I have it stuck in my head that I read somewhere that LaTorsha Tomlinson (LT's wife) calls him "pooh" or something like that.

I'm also open to the idea I dreamed this...

Anyone know the scoop? Thanks.

I am not sure about LT, but I am pretty sure that Najeh Davenport's wife calls him "pooh".Sorry...it just doesn't get old.

I really thought I remember reading this. It was a quote from her with something like "He's going to hate me for telling this, but I call him 'pooh'. Or something like that.

I've googled for it and can't find it but I'm a google novice. Any of you google gurus out there that could find it?

I read an interview with his wife (sorry, she mentioned no nickname for him in the interview), and she said that friends address letters intended for both of them to "LT2"

I think I remember seeing it in Sports Illustrated where it was LT's wife and one of his teammates and then SI asks both the same 5 questions and sees who "knows him best".

Unfortunately, I don't remember the questions or the answers. ;)

No good answers yet. One person said that the general topic was addressed in an interview done in connection with LT winning the "Man of the Year" award. It's supposedly available in an audio file somewhere, but I couldn't find it with a Google search. The person who suggested this said he didn't remember anything about LaDainian having a nickname, but that LaTorsha likes to just be called "Torsha" to avoid the LT^2 thing.

I think I know where this came from. Was it in ESPN the Magazine, when they do those "who knows the player better, his teammate or wife?"-type things? It's one of the regular features.I think I have actually read this as well, but I don't remember the nickname.

No luck finding it so far, but if you need other LT Random Shots fodder, he has a dog he named "Sweetness" after Walter Payton.Ok, I didn't say it was GOOD Random Shots fodder.

I'll post the question to a Charger board and see if anyone knows.
Thanks MT. I bet someone knows there as I remember it being pretty funny. She was cool about it and he certainly can handle anything like that but I remember reading it and thinking the guys in the film room were going to have fun with that.J

Hehe that was a great interview you linked MT...

Even more reasons for me to love LT. Such a humble guy, who is a lot like me (low key, with a wife who is the "social butterfly").

One person said "Poopie" but didn't provide a link.

I think that's what I remember, MT.I just can't remember where I read it. :banned:And I'm thinking I'd better be right if I print that...J

I just checked and I have a copy of the Jan 29th ESPN Mag.

Page 26:

Nickname:

LaDainian - "My wife calls me Poopie"

LaTorsha - "He will shoot me for telling this, but I have always called him Poopie"

ETA: If you are an ESPN insider you can view it online.

Thank you Joe Davola. I was starting to think I'd dreamed that for a while. ;)J
