Lundy Back With The First Team (1 Viewer)

From RotoWorld:

Wali Lundy has resumed practicing with the Texans' first-team offense.

Coach Gary Kubiak was impressed with the rookie in practice Wednesday and it appears he has a strong chance to start. Lundy faces a tough matchup vs. Jacksonville in Week 7, but Houston's schedule gets easier late in the season. Lundy is worth adding in all fantasy leagues.

Yup - still worth a WW pick up if you have the room.

Stash and hope.

I am sure this will fly under the radar of a lot of owners - and even if it doesn't, this attitude might find him slipping by some folks.

This week's tough, so you all might even be able to wait and see with him, but his schedule after that gets a lot easier.

So will one of Dayne or Gado be inactive this week? Lundy could be a very solid pick up in league where Rbs are scarce. Houstons running game has been going nowhere and neither Dayne or Gado have shown that they deserve carries. I see no reason why the coaches wont give this Lundy kid a chance to succeed.

in my league people are buzzing about lundy. everyone uses a pretty common website that i guess has mentioned him a few times. even if i don't get him on waivers i would like to see him do well to justify my high draft pick of him (i cut him in like week 3).

i still don't see why gado doesn't get a chance to start and get lathered up.

people say he hasn't done well but who knows....give him more than 5 carries.

i think gado COULD be better than lundy.

Anyway................

Just picked up Lundy myself in a 14-team. Not many guys on the waiver who have a chance to actually start (sans injury to team starter) and put up #s, so when one comes along, they are always worth rolling the dice on IMO.

Also, just noticed in SOS for RBs that HOU has a pretty decent schedule, so if he catches fire, you never know. If anything, after 1-2 good games he makes great trade bait.

As a bye week fill in - maybe, but none of those RB's are worth a damn.

From the Houston Chronicle today:

Rookie running back Wali Lundy will be activated Sunday and get some carries for the first time since the second game of the season. He has 17 carries for 57 yards for the NFL's worst rushing team.

"I feel like I can make some things happen, but it's going to be a whole offensive effort," said Lundy, who was behind Ron Dayne and Samkon Gado.

On not playing the last three weeks, Lundy said: "It was good and bad. It was good to just sit back and watch what the defenses were doing and see how the game was played. But as a competitor, you always want to play.

"I'm definitely looking forward to the opportunity. Hopefully, I can make something happen."
Sounds like a RBBC to me - at least for now.

Don't forget that Domenick Davis emerged in the middle of the season a few years back (granted with a different coaching regime). It remains to be seen if Lundy is better than what he showed early on, but you never know. - he could have been just overwhelmed in his first start.

Next year this time- Michael Turner or a rook.
Most certainly won't be Turner, but the Texans will draft someone. Whether it's a 1st day or 2nd day pick remains to be seen.

Adrian Peterson
Nah.... he'll ask for too much money. Besides, Dom Davis will be healthy as a horse in April.
Maybe Barbaro. Have we heard ANYTHING about Davis' current state?Either way, I grabbed Lundy off the wire and dropped my backup QB. If he starts, you can't argue with grabbing ANY starting RB off the wire in Week 7 for free.

Lundy is a rookie, and a low drafted rookie at that. I would not completely write him off after a bad start as he has a lot to learn. If anyone can get him going it'd be Kubiak.

In Kubiak We Trust!

In an 18-team dynasty league I got him in the 10th round. Then traded him and Chad Johnson for SA and Reggie Williams. I'm still starting McGahee and Jamal Lewis, dude cuts Lundy last week and I have him back again. SA and Reggie Williams for Chad Johnson, nice trade.

I'm slowly taking a look at the wagon as it starts to leave, contemplating jumping on again. Why not, the hype pre-season got me alot for him, lets roll the dice again.

Just my :2cents: , Adrian Peterson is a Texan next year. They learned their lesson with Bush.

There has to be more out there...... :fishy:

The recent history seems to suggest the Texans won't take a 1st round RB. I believe they will take the best player available at the top of the draft and then grab a RB somewhere in the 3rd or later. The Texans have major needs at O'line, D'line, Corner, RB and Safety.

Houston will be picking in the top 5 again and the top 3 prospects right now are Quinn, Peterson and Calvin Johnson. They won't need a WR or QB unless Carr really stinks up the place in the 2nd half. Hard to say who the other top prospects will be at this time but there's some good RB's available later as well: Lynch, Irons, Bush or a few others.

FWIW: On ESPN last weekend some analyst was saying that Oakland would love to get their mits on Peterson.

I'm sure most teams would love to get their mits on him. Are you sure they didn't say Oakland wanted him and his dad?

I drafted him in the 9th round of an 18 round, 12 team draft. Already dropped him a couple of weeks ago. Thinking about picking him back up :bag: . Going to roll the dice and take the wait and see approach. My backs are Tiki, Gore, Travis Henry, Chris Perry, Michael Robinson :yucky: .
