Marion Barber (1 Viewer)

Any one see the Dallas game yesterday? Why did Barber only get 8 carries and 2 receptions? I saw that Jones also got a goal line TD! I started Barber for the first time thinking Jones would be used more conservatively coming off the concussion, but Barber was the one limited. Did I miss an injury or something? Man, I thought Marion the Barbarian would go off against the Rams. Any info would be appreciated...thanks guys! :lmao:

uhh, ever hear of a guy named Patrick Crayton????????????????????????????

Barber is your average RBBC back on a good offense. He'll have his explosions, but he'll also have his stinkers. Goes with the territory.

They were far enough ahead to insert their 3rd back Tyson Thompson. If the game were close, MB3 would of gotten the rock more.

I heard when they get into the red zone which ever RB is in will stay in. no more MB3 coming in on goal line situations.

He still looked better than Jones running the ball yesterday, but Dallas didn't run that much until after the game was out of hand and scrubs were in (Thompson with 8 carries). On the drives Barber was in for, they scored on long pass plays. Plus the last poster was right, I don;t think they plan to pull Jones from the goalline anymore if he's bene in for the rest of the drive.

Productive post :lmao:

I mean shucks.... Garrett's gotta throw Julius a bone every now and then right? St Louis was the perfect game.

Julius's performance was false hope though. Did you see how he got the TD he had a wide open lane and somehow barrelled over his own lineman "barely" getting in the endzone.

You are correct in thinking MB3 should have had a better game statistically than what he ended up with.

Going into that game, the Rams have been getting gouged by the run and you'd think that Barber who averages about a TD a game would have feasted on them

Early on, Dallas did try and run the ball but the Rams were hell bent on stopping the run and did so. Twice they had the ball on 2nd and 2 and were stopped to make it 3rd and 1. Then twice they were stopped short on 3rd and 1 to punt.

I think Garrett saw them overplaying the run and that's when they decided to get the ball to their wice recievers. Witten was already getting some 8 yard looks over the middle but it was when they started to find Patrick Crayton when things finally opened up. The guy covering Crayton couldn't stay with him and couldn't tackle.

The Cowboys were up 35-7 midway thru the 3rd quarter and that was it. Bulger came out of the game due to sore ribs......the Rams were no threat to move the ball. Dallas just ran the clock and the Rams were fine with that idea. It was an extremely fast 4th quarter with just about NOTHING happening in terms of stats.

This game was more of an abberation, don't read into it. It's just a disappointing result in what you thought would be a juicy matchup but he'll be back.

Please don't say "wide receivers" in this sentence. TO was as invisible on the stat sheet as Barber this week.

The team has talked about giving Jones more shots near the end zone this season and yesterday was really the first time they followed through. Jones had a productive series on the drive in which they scored and unlike many other drives this season and last, he got the carry from the 2 instead of Barber and he converted. Jones had a good game and Barber also played well when he got his touches as both a runner and receiver. The TDs were all through the air, though, for the most part as Crayton and Witten carved up the hapless Rams. Long-term Barber is still going to get his - and this was one of the rare instances where the Cowboys won and Barber didn't score - but I would imagine Cowboy fans have to be pleased that Jones stepped up and did well. The matchup was certainly in his favor - the Rams stink - but that's also a good thing. I would think the Cowboys got exactly what they wanted out of yesterday's game. TO was quiet but that won't happen often.

true story -

I have MBIII in a dynasty - I have had him since the he started his first game two years ago . . .

Since he is ina RBBC, I have only started in those few games that Jones was out . . .

he lights up the scoreboard this year (more or less) as he is still coming off the bench . . .

I FINALLY decide to start him (SJ is out), and Jones gets the lone GL carry . . . MBIII gets 7 points . . .

I hate this game
