Marvel Contest of Champions - Time Killer (1 Viewer)

I'll join a group, but most likely won't have time to play until later tonight (9 or 10pm EST). I'll check back here to see if groups are formed prior to jumping into one.

I've also updated the spreadsheet with my top character in each class, if that helps anything.
I'm new to the team...should I be doing this as well?
Yes. If you can add in your crystals and your top champs. That'll help to set up teams if we get further along to harder maps, and track crystal points

Still no idea how to properly participate in these Alliance Quests.

"Just grab my top three rated champs and go" doesn't seem like that is the best idea.

So, best bet is to take highest Skill and Science champ you have then round out with whatever highest you have left is what I'm taking from this. Am I thinking wrong here?

I'm looking this stuff over in Spectate mode....and it's like I'm reading Chinese. How should I be judging which group is best for me to try and help?

You start on the left and move along the nodes, choosing wherever you want as they branch. It only costs energy to the first person to hit a node, someone following over it doesn't use energy.

The button on the right with the molecule will show you which bad guy is supplying buffs to other bad guys near him (but on other paths). So we want to move ahead evenly so no one is fighting buffed bad guys (who may have double health, etc from the buff).

So look at the available opponents along each path, and what classes you'll bring that have advantages. Click on our guys on the paths to see what they already have with them. Sometimes our guys will show up as a number if they are stopped between nodes because they chose not to start the fight, just click on the number.

After that, just use your best judgment. Combination of which path are you effective on, who could use the most help (hero level and health left), who has the most nodes left to go through, plus is anyone waiting on a buff to be removed where you can go get the buff-creator on the other path and clear the way for them.

Ok, so crystal shards... if implemented well this is a great idea by Kabam.

I haven't done my uber post on their board that I've considered, but one criticism I have for them is that too much relies on credits. It makes them uber important to save them for 4-star crystals and masteries, which means we learn to hoard them and never want to spend them. Which hurts Kabam's bottom line so isn't good for them or us.

They should have something else and credits should just be a benny. Look at Clash of Clans. Other than getting your builders early, gems are never actually spent as a resource. The only thing they do is give you helpful boosts to speed things up, buy resources you don't want to wait to earn, etc. They run specials that keep you spending gems and appreciating spending them until you're willing to do it to boost regular game play. Credits should be like gems. They would do better with other things (like crystal shards) to serve Clash's role of gold, elixir, etc, and have credits as things we spend for boosts or crystals, but not as the only way of getting them.

Crystal shards can create that buffer between credits and crystals. Imagine if every story quest fight had a chance of a couple of crystal shards. But playing over time you'd eventually get a 4-star crystal out of it. This is what they need, something that continued play gives you light at the end of the tunnel of getting heroes... something that doesn't require playing longer hours than other players.

That doesn't mean they won't F it up in how they implement it. But if they find a good rate at which we can earn them, I think they can be a positive thing. If they remove existing rewards and just replace them with shards though, it'll suck.

Thanks for that. I'll take a closer look in just a bit and see what I can do.

If you look at group 2, a great example right now is that WootWoot is the only person on the path that is like 4 nodes behind everyone else. So that would be a great spot for the next person to take, particularly if they have a science hero for the 2 mystics remaining on the path.

Of course, I chose to join group 3 before I read this. D'oh.

So, how are the boosted champs dealt with?

Boosted by purple means the buff comes from another node. That's where the teamwork and coordination come into play. The orange boost are delivered by the node, meaning you have to beat that champ with all his buffs.

Same here. Game lagged after the first couple of punches and next thing I know 1/3 of my health is gone when it catches back up. Then all it took was one red special to finish me. :kicksrock:

Cool. So, the orange boosts you pretty much just keep going into the breach til you drop him as a team.

Yes, though best to kind of take turns going after them rather than one person exhaust all 3.

Since each person still alive can regain quest energy to open up movement, better to have 3 people with 1 hero left all regaining energy, than 1 with 3 heroes left.

Ultron was definitely not this strong before. I think once his buffs were taken down he was somewhere in the 4000-6000 range. Maybe less. His hits are so strong my IM didn't even get to use the Arc Overload.

I evaded ultron L2 and still took 1500 damage. Guess I only evaded the first fireball and not the other 5 or however many there are.

Is this even possible to take Ultron down? I'd like the 1-day event milestone reward, and am willing to spend my revives/heals/boosts to get it, but I am just not 100% confident that we have the strength to defeat him

Another possible idea. Is it worth it to stack all of our strongest members into one group for the next quest in an effort to take down Ultron and claim that Alliance Crystal?

Kabam sent out a message with a bunch of freebies saying the bosses in the next Alliance Quest have been fixed.

Have to reboot the game before joining the alliance quest though to get the fix. Also I didn't get the message until I rebooted.

So the furthest outside loops take up the most quest energy. So we once we have people going down each path, we should probably send the next 2 people down to help the outside paths.

Team 2, I've got two Science champs over 2000 rating now, I'll take the path up the middle with all the mystics in it. Then will take the outside loop with a lot of mystics after that. Should mean less need to bring Science for everyone else. Again, that's just for Team 2.

What crystal event?
The one we've been waiting for and holding crystals for about 7 years now. Hopefully it will be soon, we have an insane amount of crystals stockpiled so we should be easily hitting all milestones and maybe get a decent rank. We actually ranked pretty well in the rankup event.

As a relatively new player keeping all these crystals is a bit hard for me lol. Any idea when they may have this event?

I am personally okay with you opening yours. I think as a new player it is more important to build up your stable so that you can compete in the newbie arenas and win higher level characters

I think we can all agree with that. I'd try to save some if you can, like arena crystals and alliance crystals, but I don't have an issue with you opening your PHCs. It's good to get a good group of champs early, especially before you reach the vet bracket.

Someone follow the bottom right path I took on Team 2. I'm going to be gone most of the day.

Anyone else finding that Daredevil's special has started not giving the stun symbol when it stuns someone?

Thought maybe it happened yesterday but wasn't sure. Today it definitely happened during the Alliance quest with his 1st special.

Yea there's a lot of glitches with champs right now ever since they did the rebalancing.
