I got nothing. I upgraded a new 2* Antman just to be able to rank something up to get on the board.

Ok, so crystal shards... if implemented well this is a great idea by Kabam.

I haven't done my uber post on their board that I've considered, but one criticism I have for them is that too much relies on credits. It makes them uber important to save them for 4-star crystals and masteries, which means we learn to hoard them and never want to spend them. Which hurts Kabam's bottom line so isn't good for them or us.

They should have something else and credits should just be a benny. Look at Clash of Clans. Other than getting your builders early, gems are never actually spent as a resource. The only thing they do is give you helpful boosts to speed things up, buy resources you don't want to wait to earn, etc. They run specials that keep you spending gems and appreciating spending them until you're willing to do it to boost regular game play. Credits should be like gems. They would do better with other things (like crystal shards) to serve Clash's role of gold, elixir, etc, and have credits as things we spend for boosts or crystals, but not as the only way of getting them.

Crystal shards can create that buffer between credits and crystals. Imagine if every story quest fight had a chance of a couple of crystal shards. But playing over time you'd eventually get a 4-star crystal out of it. This is what they need, something that continued play gives you light at the end of the tunnel of getting heroes... something that doesn't require playing longer hours than other players.

That doesn't mean they won't F it up in how they implement it. But if they find a good rate at which we can earn them, I think they can be a positive thing. If they remove existing rewards and just replace them with shards though, it'll suck.

At second glance I'm still liking this.

I am at 300 3-star hero shards, 100 4-star hero shards, and 675 PHC shards. 2000 needed for the crystal.

So those 100 4-star shards are 1/20 of a 4-star hero. If they had given us 1/20th the cost in credits that would be 120 credits worth. I'm not sure where my 4-star shards came from, but 120 credits is a pretty damn good reward compared to the credit awards we normally see. Yes it's going to take awhile to save them up, but the reward rate seems decent.

They gave them to us as part of the roll out. From what I have seen they are pretty hard to get.

So far they are only Rank Rewards on the tournys. A carrot for the people like me that still play but don't have the time or the team to finish high enough in standings. Hopefully they will expand it to alliance rewards and milestones.

Need something to keep my interest, didn't even place in the Black Panther 4* when I had been inching up on the reward scale. Guess the added 4* Captain Marvel brought out enough folks on the fences. School starting for most kids soon, hopefully makes an impact.

Have over 400 crystals, really getting bored and tired of waiting.

FWIW the alliance 34471 maps out upcoming events (some by rotation, others I suppose are speculation) and they don't have the crystal event happening at least until a bit into September. Hopefully they're wrong but they have arena combat as the next 7 day.

If someone is using Deadpool or Wolverine I think they might help, the +15% one on Deadpool especially

But for anyone else... 4 health twice per second, so 8 per second. That's 480 health if your fight lasts a minute. (I don't think most of my fights last nearly a minute.) That's what, 4 light punches, assuming none are crits or fury'd? Against top heroes anyway. I suppose for 2 stars it is a lot more of a help, but do we have problems of losing in 2-star tourneys?

I just don't see it worth it.

I just remembered that AQ battles are on a timer. Probably to prevent exactly what I was thinking, sit back and regenerate to full health before ending each battle. But you could still do it for a minute or so per battle. Doc would know..

That's my plan. When the crystal event starts I plan on pulling back to back dr strange and then back to back scarlet witch. My strategy is to cross my fingers before opening. We'll see how it works

I have some of the regen masteries. They help a little but it's such a small amount of heal that you would never run any strategy based off of it. I would probably not get them again if I ever reset those masteries.

On the other hand I'm very much hoping for a 4* Wolverine from my crystals. My maxed 3* Deadpool is an absolute beast in the AQ. Would love to have a 4* healer.

Unstoppable colossus is a beast. His PI starts low but ends somewhat high. Most of your 3* are pretty good, I'd go with who you prefer until you start getting them awakened. That's where you'll see the biggest differences.

I'm ok with waiting for two weeks. If the 7 day crystal crash appears then awesome! But if it doesn't appear and Kabam has not given any kind of idea when it might then I'm done with stockpiling.

Playing the game efficiently is great but not when it comes at such a huge sacrifice. Opening crystals is one of the primary joys in the game and we aren't getting that anymore.

Scarlet Witch is one of the very best heroes when awakened. She can negate effects on others, including Regeneration and Unstoppable which are two of the worst powers to have to fight against. I would definitely keep advancing her and hope you can get her duped.

Not really. From where you're sitting you'd want the rest of the crit masteries, and stand your ground (the last defense mastery on the bottom row)

Yup. I have him duped 4*. Need to start bringing him on alliance quests. Not sure who to drop, probably non-duped Superior IM.

Duped definitely. Even non duped he's been pretty good.

I'm kinda leaning the same way. I'm falling into a lull here and opening the crystals can certainly help pull me out of that.

So early in a quest you should be able to count. You know everyone starts at 3 points...and gets one per hour.....

Your timer starts as soon as the quest is started. So everyone starts with 3/5 but if you don't enter the quest until 2 hours after it starts then you'll see yourself at 5/5
