Marvel Contest of Champions - Time Killer (1 Viewer)

Colossus and Thor are quite easy. The key is to be patient and to let them use their green/orange specials. Absolutely DO NOT let them get to red. If they have the power gain buff only use your red special if they have zero power in their special meter, otherwise you risk moving them to red

With Ultron I try not to let him get his orange special because to my knowledge it cannot be evaded so you will take damage. I am not as good at fighting Ultron as some of the people here, but I will own Thor and Colossus 99% of the time as long as I do not run out of time in the fight

 
That "trick" to parry just looks like "wait until the last moment to block." That's not really a trick, that's how the mechanic works. :) I'm also apparently not quick enough to get it to proc reliably.

Given that, I'm almost wondering if I should be wasting the mastery point on it, but it's saved a handful of fights "by accident" since I've had it so it's probably worth more than whatever I'd switch it with.

I normally get it to proc when I swipe back to use dexterity too late. Well worth the point.

That's pretty much the only time I get it to fire as well. Or at the very beginning of a fight when I luck into the timing.

The trick is that you have to move first. If you stand still, and then block i just get a block instead of a parry. But when i move just a little i get 90% of the time a parry. Just standing still and waiting for the last moment doesn't work for me.

I stand still and wait until they charge me and get parry to proc consistently

 
This may have been inflated due to high demand for Venom... But top 400 cutoff was around 7.5 million. Just a heads up for any of you wackos considering making a run for top 400.

 
Yeah they probably won't stay that high, but as people keep accumulating more and more 4* champs the scores will still continue to rise. But don't worry, I'm sure kabam will fix that by next June or so.

 
So sorry, was barely on this weekend due to some volunteer commitments. Didnt help out on the AQ at all since Sat morning.

 
Is it just me....or does it seem like for the last month+ there have been way, way more Cosmic champs in the crystals?

I could build a bridge to the moon with the amount of Cosmic ISO I've built up from dupes. And that's AFTER ranking up two 4* Cosmic champs to 3/30 and two 3* to 4/40 in that time period.

I've duped my 2* Drax/Gam/SIM a bundle of times in the last month. That doesn't count the handful of Black Bolts/Marvels/Thors or the 3*s of those types.

Conversely, I can't recall the last Mystic I've duped(it was probably UC, but that's a guess). I needs me the Mystic ISO, dammit!

 
I can't pull a new mutant to save my life. Sitting on crap tons of mutant ISO getting close to expiration.

Every other class is coming up about the same, except Mystic. Would agree I don't seem to be duping those often lately, mystic ISO in short supply.

4*'s and 3*'s drop rate has definitely been upped in my experience. Added a 4* Electro today, like my 5th or 6th 4* out of a PHC since our big crystal opening at the beginning of Sept. Have added probably another three 4*'s through 4* shart crystals. If they ever give us our awards, I'll be close to another shart crystal. Plus I still havent 100% Thanos.

I am having the opposite experience. I haven't gotten a 4* out of a PHC since I got DD out of a spiderbite crystal that was given to the alliance as a reward, Been probably 4-5 months now.

That sucks. My first was a Daredevil out of a Spiderbite too. Thats unbelievably bad luck, it seems like 4's are everywhere in our alliance from looking at the general alliance tab.

They ran out of crystals, they sent some interns out for more but the returned with actual crystals not shards, so they are out back with a sledgehammer breaking them into little pieces. Then they need to count them and get boxes from FedEx to ship them to us.

Been really lucky lately, really lucky since day 1 really. I'm not sure who I would bench if I get a 4* Dr. Strange.. SIM I guess? And roll with 2 mystics plus Ultron.

Duped Ultron has me seriously considering making another run at the T4s to rank him.

 
My 4's from shard crystals suck monkey balls. So far they gave me dupes, and today Iron Patriot. At least it isn't Ant-Man but damn IP is close to that.

I won him previously in the 3* arena and was so disappointed when i played him. Surely i will win every match with him but really would have liked to get someone nice like SW, BW, IF, IM, SL, Magneto, Gamora, Magik, Colossus, WM, DD. O well, maybe next month. A new one will give me an extra team.

I hope we will be getting some nice (=top 10) rewards from AQ's soon. Been playing some AQ fights whilst driving and it's really is no challenge, expect for Colossus and Ultron at the end of the week.

 
Problem with AQ is that so many alliances sandbag that the scores required keep climbing up. Ours are getting better with the influx of 4* crystals, but we are obviously not keeping up. We need more members with 4/40s.

Probably right. Thing is, if I can avoid getting hit, IF can put a dent in Ultron like none other. Really high ceiling, but no durability.

Plus IF is my only 4/40, hard to bench that ahead of the 3/30 SIM.

Feels more like I should swap out 1 regenerator for another. I've really liked using the tandem of SIM the regenerator to carry me to the bosses, and then IF at the bosses.

Tough decision.. hope I get a chance to make it eventually.

 
Still we should be able to finish map 3 with each group every single time. Even with 1 4* at 40/4 in each roster clearing a path should not be a real problem. Let alone with 2 players per path.

At least for me the AQ is not giving any fun. My participation was lower last time then normal, checking in less frequently and joining in the morning (here) instead of the evening. I'm waiting for the rest of Act 4, that will keep me busy next to the occasional arena's.

 
Participation seemed to be down across the board last time in AQ. I don't know if it was disappointment in not being able to hit the 4* reward the previous time, maybe. It really would be nice if Kabam would address the issue of AQ sandbagging.

Even so, it is still the best source of 4* shards for the least amount of work. We always hit 500 shards and if we can hit 750 consistently, all the better. To get 750 4* shards grinding arena would take much, much longer.

Woot: you were born to lead/direct these AQs, and you can beat the bosses pretty much singlehandedly. It sucks to lose Casadilla, but I think you should continue taking charge of/directing Group 1.

If Woot can handle Group 1, everyone else who has a 4* 4/40 or consistently scores high/ can beat the big bosses should join groups 2 and 3. I think this would give us the best chance to consistently beat all 3 maps.

And I know it can be done, the main thing is good participation. The last Map on Saturday(?), in Group 2 we had no Mjolnir or other high level guys, just a rag tag bunch. But we communicated well and most everyone checked in every couple hours, and we were able to finish just under the wire.

I agree, even without a main guy we were able to get it done. It certainly helps when you have a Woot to take out the the mini bosses while not looking at their phone, but I think we are to the point were it is not always needed. We should be to the point where we are at least reaching Ultron with each group each time in map 3.

However we still need to get everyone to show up and drop in every few hours. we can't have 4 people start and then leave because buffs are up and not come back. If there is a buff in your way come back in an hour and see if it was cleared or ask someone in chat to clear it. If you are going to be gone for an extended time make sure you mention it in chat so we know to cover your path. If you are KO'd, you can still use your energy to escort someone down a path, so don't leave.

Maybe things are taking a turn for the better, we only had 2 people not get in all their duels today (looking at you Big E and Rome), so the extra units were more to cover the empty and Casa.

Can we try map 4 for the first day this time? Will it let us? Maybe we try it before our prestige increase makes it harder. The day 1 difference between map 2 and 3 was 700k I think. If we did map 4 and then map 3 the other day we should be over 10m.

 
Getting the right AQ champs will go a long way towards scoring better. That's just a matter of time and luck (start pulling your weight, Foos).

And then if everyone starts investing 50-100 units a week for those times when we need a little push to get us to 100%, we could start doing map 4? Our wootwoot needs a challenge. Map 3 used to intimidate us, but now we're expecting to score 100% across the board.

We should come up with some donation amounts that everybody needs to put in.

There are too many ppl donating/doing barely anything and profiting all the way.

Map 4 on day 1 should be very doable. Then see how far we can go. Same as we did with map 3. Just need to keep the balance of spending gold and receiving points. Would be a shame to spend more gold and not getting better rewards

Some people know they have no chance at the mini bosses or would have to burn items to do so. Sucks but until we've all got 4 4/40* Stranges, Iron Fists, etc it is what it is. I have no problem with people waiting if that's the case, it's better to have more guys alive for clearing paths.

It seems like what I see more often is guys with close to full health way back near the start of the map not having checked in for 12+ hours, when the rest of us are near the end and stuck on a final node or 2, praying someone shows up or has to use revives. That bothers me a lot more than anyone waiting a couple hours for Colossus to go down.

Strange isn't a guaranteed victory. One slip up and he gets killed fairly easily. The bigger issue as the AQs get harder is the 3 minute time limit, especially with the second colossus. Definitely helps a lot to have some of his health down before I fight him. That being said mine will be 4/40 by Sunday which will make things easier as well. And if I can dupe my SW anytime soon that'd be pretty sweet and would help a lot also.

 
I'll be rolling with Colossus, Ms. Marvel, and SIM. Although I may switch out Antman for SIM actually. Colossus will handle bleed, Ms. Marvel poison, and either SIM or Antman to help with mini bosses.

I don't think that is much of an issue. I would rather have one competent person take down the minibosses so that the people who can't don't lose their squads.
