5-Star Champions are here!Their emergence within the Contest has been long speculated upon, and the day is now here. A few things you need to know about 5-Star Champions:
• They are obtained via 5-Star shards.
• 10,000 5-Star shards will be required in order to snag yourself a 5-Star Crystal.
• Upon release, 5-Star champions will not be immediately usable in arenas. We don’t want the first player obtaining a 5-Star champion to walk all over the competition. There will be a two week window while the team works on making some stamina-related changes in the game.
• That’s okay, because 5-Star champions will be difficult to obtain, and it may take players time to do so! Our intention with 5-Star champions is for them to be the best of the best, and a struggle to earn. As a result, players with 5-Star champions will truly be able to display them as a badge of pride.
• There are several ways that players can earn the shards needed for these prestigious champions: Event Quests, Alliance Events, Alliance Quests, Act 4, and duping 4-Star heroes.
• 5-Star champions will be much more powerful, but much harder to rank-up.
• They come with a brand-new mini-game feature that we’ll be sharing further details on over the next few weeks.
While we want to emphasize the power 5-Star champions will have, it is important to highlight that they will not instantaneously have complete supreme power over 4-Star heroes. As an example: A 4-Star, Rank 5, Level 50 is slightly weaker than a 5-Star, Rank 2, Level 35 (Which is the max level for a rank 2 5-Star).
The following characters will be released as the first wave of 5-Star champions, with more to come in the future:

Mutant - Cyclops

Mystic - Juggernaut
Mystic - Magik
