Matt Leinart SUCKS (1 Viewer)

I was hoping Leinart would be the second coming of Carson Palmer. Boy, was I wrong. In the game tonight they show Leinart lounging on the sideline like it's a SoCal beach instead of, gosh, maybe studying pictures to figure out what he could do better? If you get him out of the pocket you know it's going to be either incomplete or an INT. Giving this guy the Heisman was a joke, as there had to be somebody, ANYBODY, better than him in college football that year. If it wasn't for the fact that he played at USuCks against terrible defenses, he would never have won it. This stiff sucks!

I made the mistake of drafting him and starting him in my local redraft. Boy, he looks just awful. Glad I also have Cutler, who I thinking will be starting for me the rest of the year.

i should have listened when people told me wisenhut would ruin that O
A QB is set up to fail in that offense.Run - run - everyone knows you will pass and will bring the house and have perfect coverage....and no chance to get into a rhythm. That being said, he is waaaay off on his passes and seems to make bad choices.

#1. I don't see any overreacting. If you're watching, Leinart looks horrible. I was actually just about to start this thread, he beat me to it. My eyes are hurting from watching him pass. He was given a month to throw on the flea flicker and didn't even give Fitzgerald a chance to make a play.

#2. Fitzgerald has been unable to get open, but rule #98, no excuses, play like a champ!

#3. Why oh why aren't they running it now. It just seems like pass after pass after ####### pass. They're only down 3.

So funny that he scrambled for a big run, then threw a TD.

he sucks!

Immobile? He's been scrambling effectively all night. SF defenders threw a blanket over Boldin and Fitzgerald tonite. Unbelievable defense on 2 of the best receivers in the league. SF fans have got to be optimistic.

I'm a huge Leinart backer, and he hasn't looked sharp tonight. But he has had ZERO time all night. It's like Wiz & Grimm focused so much on run blocking they forgot about pass protection.

As a Leinart owner, I'm actually more concerned about the Wisenhuntification of the offense. He clearly is going to run the ball this year in any game that is moderately close. Which I suppose is a good thing for an NFL team...

Funniest thing I've read in a while. This is quite possibly the worst game I've ever seen. SF losing this game at home is downright embarrassing. The only thing worse than Leinart playing QB tonight is Alex Smith trying to do the same.

ah...it's crazy talk to question Leinart now. He's in his second year, and he hasn't started a full 16 yet.

I'll admit I thought he'd have a better matchup with San Fran, but it'll take a bunch of bad starts before I start questioning the guy's ability.

Then why did you draft him in three leagues

It's not crazy talk.If you've watched, he's sucked outright. Boldin made that TD happen with his strength in the redzone.I thought he was going to be a great quarterback, and he can still be, but he has SUCKED tonight.

Really scary thing is that Leinart should have had a much rougher night. I cant count the number of times pass rushers had a hand or an arm on him and let him stumble away, and there should have been at least another int and fumble recovered. 9ers should have put this game away in the first half, but they couldnt get out of their own way. Those are two bad teams.

it's a marathon, not a sprint....and San Fran has a HIGHLY improved D this year between the CB's (who are you going to throw at? Walt Harris or Nate Clements?) and LB's (Patrick Willis is a BEAST).

Don't panic. It's one game. Reggie Bush and Drew Brees also crapped the bed Thursday night. You ready to dump them too?

I almost don't think I can read this forum anymore......too much overraction. Maybe in 6 weeks a lot of the guppies will lose interest and leave.

The thread title itself is an overreaction. He hadn't finished one game game yet!
Matt Leinart SUCKS, lazy, immobile...
Saying Lienart didn't look good tonight isn't an overreaction. Saying he missed an open receiver on the flea flicker isn't an overreaction. Neither would really merit it's own thread though. The initial post is why there is something called a VENTING THREAD. It's so the forum isn't clogged up by 6000 posts about how so and so sucks with no real information.

I'm a USC fan, but the more I learn about Leinart personally (he's a ####) the less I like him. That said, I'm ambivalent about him overall and therefore pretty neutral.

I think he's going to be "fine", and by "fine" I mean worthy of a starting QB job somewhere in the NFL. Will he be a Pro Bowler or a fantasy stud? Who knows?

Everyone needs to relax. As I said in the new coaches thread, the negative effects upon a team of a transition to a new coach and scheme always tends to get underestimated. Last year, when Saunders went to the 'Skins, everyone started talking about huge passing yards and rushing, etc., failing to remember that it historically has taken a year - you read that right, one year - to fully install that offense and have the players absorb it and "get it". Even if that's an extreme example (and it might be), the fact is that we're at week 1.

If I'm a Cards fan I'm pumped up about what I saw last night. That line looked like a pretty good run blocking line. Edge looked like he did with the Colts. In other words, the thing that everyone figured that Whisenhunt and Grimm would make the priority - o-line play and the running game - were in fact the priority and looked vastly improved.

Pass protection and routes, sight adjustments, blitz pickups, etc. are more complex and take time. The good news is that Leinart is universally respected for his football smarts and he's got arguably the best tandem of WR's in the league to work with in getting that right. He's also in a division with relatively weak defenses. Declaring him a bust or the Cards passing game as a failure this early is silly.

IMHO, if you have him you hold him; play better options if you got them. Leinart is probably a decent buy low candidate, especially as a QB2.

 I like the fact that he wanted to show last night: he and the character on the NFL commerical are one and the same.

:( I

These two defenses SUCK and both of these pathetic teams could not muster any offense... Leinart does SUCK, he has the two BEST receivers in the game and he could not get them the ball... Time for a Q.B. change!!!

Me...

But those SF cornerbacks are pretty good.

I give the Niners defense a ton of credit. They looked good. That's a team on the rise if Alex Smith can get his crap together. That closing drive is a good confidence builder.

That said, I'm making no excuses for Leinart. The guy looked NOTHING like he did last year (when I thought he looked poised, confident, and was making good decisions). He looked like a rookie to me. Is it the offense? The Niners blitzing and pressure? Week 1 jitters? Whatever it is, he has his work cut out for him this week.

I got to disagree- i saw a really mediocre 9ers defensive line and some bad tackling technique. Edge was runnning hard but nobody came up and stuck him- most of his runs he fell forward for an extra 3 or 4 yards. That shouldnt happen and its generally a sign of linebackers having to make a one on one tackle and not doing it very well. When Edge starts getting some arms on him in the backfield and LOS and a good linebacking corp starts squaring up, he wont be getting those extra yards he was living on last night. The 9ers dbs looked great though. But i think you can run on this defense all day.
