mayo doesnt need refrigeration (1 Viewer)

I read something a little while ago that mayo wont go bad if left out of a refrigerator. I decided to test it. Ive had a jar on my counter for nearly two months, its actually next to my coffee maker so the jar gets pretty hot when I make a pot. The mayo tastes a little different but hasnt changed color or anything. Ive been eating some almost every day.....having some right now on 12 grain nut bread sprinkled with a little black pepper

I havent got so much as a tummy ache so its true it doesnt need to be cold

What other foods dont need refrigeration that we typically think do?

Be sure to try leaving it outside in the sun during the summer. Report back to us.

Its been next to a hot coffee maker 2 months

Most of the things mentioned are well known to not require refrigeration with probably the exception of ketchup

Keeping it tightly covered helps reduce bacterial contamination versus making potato salad and leaving it uncovered on a picnic table.

DSP, is your kitchen unusually clean? Are fastidious with dirty dishes, wiping down surfaces, and such?

Im a 30 yo bachelor so its not exactly pristine

I think a lot of people think you have to put regular old butter in the fridge, but you don't.

We leave ours on the counter 24/7 in a butter dish. Nice for spreading.

My grandmom kept her butter in the cupboard. I used to love going over there and spreading that stuff on rolls. It was like heaven.
