For the Patriots' defense's sake, I sure hope that a S wasn't taking tackles from a ILB.
In some sense, Harrison was impacting the ILB tackle opportunity. He was very frequently playing in the box on running downs and nickel snaps, limiting pursuit opportunities and potentially some zone coverage snaps. Harrison was in and out of Monday night's game before the quad injury and Mayo was showing a fair amount of ranginess during that time.I don't think it's a big impact, but the loss of a very good player in the middle of the field will likely give the other leading tacklers more frequent and more favorable tackle chances.Mayo can't get much higher in my estimation anyway, but Harrison's loss certainly won't hurt his chances at cracking the 90 solo barrier I'd hoped for him this preseason. He's already on pace for 98. With the Patriot offense so much worse than was expected, it wouldn't be shocking to see him hit 100.
