McNabb (2 Viewers)

Am I the only one who was LOLing?
I was definitely lolling with ya :goodposting:To the OP: seriously?
I'm not spazzing out over it. Just saying...I have always hated McNabb
Well there you go.
I'm not hiding the fact I don't like him. His gay sideline celebrations, the moon walk, "next question", picking up the phone. Oh and the fact that he has no heart and barfed in the biggest game of his career. Then denied it.
He has heart. It's the same reason he led the Eagles to the position they're in (with help from the DEF), and the same reason he picked up the phone. Same reason he always has a smile on his face, dances on the sidelines and enjoys the game, almost no matter what is going on in the game. Some guys show it with seriousness, some show it with more fun. McNabb has fun with it and he's in ANOTHER NFCCG. Eli/Romo/etc are more serious. They're at home. :(How can you fault McNabb for loving the game, having fun with it, and when the game is really going his way, showing it off loud/proud.
The Eagles imo......rise and fall with Westy and the defense not because of McNabb. I find the fake smile cheesy and smug. Even when he's losing.

It's got to be the hangover and the lack of sleep but I don't even get the joke. Can someone help this idiot out?
:goodposting: I dont get it. When Shannon Sharpe said on the sideline during a Denver/NE game, "Someone call the National Guard because the Broncos are KILLING the Patriots." THAT was funny. And I cant stand Sharpe. What was picking up the phone supposed to mean?

McNabb beats a lot of teams, I can see how fans of plenty of other teams can dislike him. :goodposting:But yes, judge his smile to be "fake", his dancing to be "gay" and the phone pickup to be "poor sportsmanship". :( Come on.

And McNabb's reaction after the game was pretty ridiculous, "As a veteran, I was just trying to have a little fun." So it is ok as a veteran to do something that stupid but not as a rookie? I dont get it.
Good point. If DeSean Jackson had done that, and he has already done some stupid #####, I would've been all over him.I retract my previous opinion of "harmless", and now think it was "stupid".Still think a Cowboys fan starting a thread about it reeks of sour grapes.

I hated McNabb long before the Eagles fed the Cowboys their lunch a couple weeks back.

Harmless. It wasn't the most sportsmanlike thing of all time, but compared to the stuff we see every week in the NFL, it was completely harmless.
Harmless? The guy's team is up by two scores, on the road ... and instead of having a third and one, WITH THE CLOCK RUNNING, he takes a fifteen yard penalty, STOPS THE CLOCK, and makes it third and SIXTEEN.He's an absolute j_agg-off.Next time a race baiting buffoon like Deion Sanders tries to insinuate that it's a racial thing in regards to McNabb not being afforded the love/respect that Brady and Peyton are given, look no further than this POS manuever by McNabb.Could you imagine either of those guys being that effing stupid?McNabb's a proven winner ... operates in a tough market ... and is a gifted player ....But the guy is dumb as a sock full of wooden nickels.
Why can't he be classy like Plax or Rodney Harrison. I love that a stupid antic gets the same type of penalty (and is therefore placed on the same level) as a late hit to the head that can paralyze someone...now those are some solid priorities Mr. Goodell.

I didn't say it was good sportsmanship. I really don't see it as bad sportsmanship though. Throwing a snowball at Coughlin would be bad sportsmanship.

:fishing: What a POS. I cannot stand this guy.Stay classy Donovan. That is all.
If you like him you laugh it off, if you don't like him (I'm guessing you're in this camp) you think he's a tool for doing it.
That about sums it up.
So once again, you're saying this thread is completely subjective, and his actions weren't necessarily funny or toolish; it just depends what you thought before he did it?Thanks for making the thread!

Close.I don't like the guy to begin with. So I judge him harder then I would someone else.I thought it was toolish regardless.Shut your eyes and imagine McNabb was TO. What do you think now?Your Welcome!

As an Eagles fan, I thought Aikman saying "Sometimes I don't know what that guy is thinking" is even less classy. It's obvious what he was thinking: elation on the win, vindication, get the party started. There are probably 100 less sportsmanlike things than that per game that don't get called. He was just joking around in his normal dorky way.

I thought Aikman's comments were appropriate because I didnt and still dont know what it meant. Joking around how, what is the joke?

Ok, so again, what happened?
Basically nothing. Bankerguy's thread is more ridiculous than McNabb's phone pick-up.
I think everyone's reaction to my thread is even funnier.
That's pretty much the definition of trolling right there folks.
An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.[2]

Things like that are why McNabb never gets the respect he deserves..it was stupid.

Great comment by Aikman!! :fishing:

As a die hard and (currently) bitter Giants fan this can't come off as anything but sour grapes. Having said that, although I don't think it's a big deal, it is classless and juvenile as are many celebrations that players do on the field. All I can say is that I would be a bit embarrassed if the face of my franchise, or any player on the team I rooted for, did what McNabb did.

Go by a Plax Burress jersey you crybaby. Stay classy at home next week.
No thanks...I like Dallas.
So you are used to not having football to watch since 44-6. There isn't an ounce of class in the whols Cowgirls organization. Go cry somewhere else, we have a game to talk about.
Not crying at all...LOL.I called him a POS. I thought it was a toolish and bush league move.Enjoy your Superbowl win of 44-6. The Eagles trophy case will stay empty. I'll take the AFC over the Birds. You guys will beat Zona.

Call me a troll if it makes you feel better. However, the player himself after the game said he regretted doing it.

My amusement is in the double standard and everyone assuming I am here in my house thinking it was the worst thing I have EVER seen.

Giants and Cowboys have welcomed back worse this season alone.

Really? Giants have?Anyway, it's a common debate technique to exaggerate a claim to make it seem ludicrous. My girlfriend does it all the time. I'm not saying that McNabb shouldn't be "welcomed back" by the Eagles.Again, what I am saying is that I don't think the phone thing is a huge deal but is was classless and bush league and any fan in his right mind should be a bit embarrassed about it.

He was just booking his tickets to Arizona.

I'm referring to Pierce. What Desean did in the Minnesota game is more bush league and I'm more embarrassed about that. But it was barely mentioned.A multipage thread about picking up the other team's phone seems just like more beating up on McNabb because he's an easy target. He was at the phone, and he picked it up. Who cares? My pride that they had a win all but locked up at the start of the 4th quarter outweighs any embarrassment over McNabb being a dork. I've already reached the "acceptance" phase on that one.

Fair enough.Although I did mention what Jackson did in another thread, it was explained by Eagles fans that we all know that Jackson is an "idiot" and a rookie while here, I think McNabb, as a vet and a leader on the team, should know better.Anyway, I don't think Pierce did anything that he shouldn't have been welcomed back by the Giants, after watching him play today, I kinda wish he wasn't.

This is just another incident where McNabb shows us again why he scored so low on the "wonderlic" test. He is just not that bright, but he is a talented QB.

The mystery is solved on what McNabb said on the phone.McNabb: "Is this Bankerguy?"

Bankerguy: "Yes."

McNabb: "You troll."
