McNabb (1 Viewer)

You know what is funny is if I did not come around cause the Cowboys lost I would be called a coward now that I am here and not hiding it is because I am mad and bitter that they lost. Laughable!! I am just here saying I think Philly comes up short ONCE again and Mcnabb will once again choke.
No one would have called you a coward for not coming into a McNabb thread to rip on him.
Well if you go back and look I came in and posted what I thought about what Mcnabb did with the phone on the sidelines and then I start getting attacked about dallas what a surprise.

I'm a Jets fan who was raised in a "Giants household" and lives 15 minutes from Giants Stadium. The Giants are my 2nd favorite team and I root for them just as hard as my Giants fan friends and family when the Jets are eliminated and the Giants are playing.

So in turn, I was rooting for the Giants, I was pissed that they played terrible and were about to lose, and still thought that was a HILARIOUS move by McNabb that made me smile.

I think a fan of a team that has Romo as their QB should not be allowed to talk about another QB choking anytime anywhere.

To be completely honest, I couldn't find it any more classless if he'd just slapped Eli in the face. Still, he's been Mr. Nice guy and done and said all the right things for nearly a decade now. He still gets no respect. He's a choker, and he needs to be traded, and he gets tired in the Super Bowl. So, really, how bad is it for the media to say he's got no class now? He's had that for years and it's been overlooked.

:goodposting: truer words have never been spoken . I can't believe he is still here to defend his jealousy.

I'm not hiding the fact I don't like him. His gay sideline celebrations, the moon walk, "next question", picking up the phone. Oh and the fact that he has no heart and barfed in the biggest game of his career. Then denied it.

For someone who doesn't like him you know a lot about him and his career. It was a goofy move that didn't need to be done. However, you can not deny 5 trips to NFCCG in 10 years. Do you think the Lions, Jet, Bengals would endure the utter embarrasment of their QB picking up a phone for 2 seconds in exchange for 5 championship games?

How is this any more "unsportsmanlike" than, say, Joey Porter acting like he's wiping poop off of his shoe every time he breathes on a guy? Does Porter get flagged for that? Did Nick Whatshisnut from the Chiefs ever get flagged when he'd act like he just hit "The Shot Hear 'Round the World" every time he sacked a quarterback? Same gimmick, in my mind. It's stupid. He was penalized. Not a big deal.Still doesn't change the fact that is WAS funny.

Throwing a snowball at Coughlin would be bad sportsmanship.
And would also be funny as s@$#$#. Not only because someone actually chucked a snowball at that fossil, but also because I expect that a "Benny Hill-esque" chase scene would then ensue as Coughlin tried to tackle McNabb, complete with scantily clad co-eds, the "Yakkity Sax" track blasting over the P.A. and a very short, elderly English gentleman slowly bringing up the rear of the chase....without his dentures in.

When Shannon Sharpe busted out the phone shtick it was fresh. Stupid, but fresh.

When Joe Horn busted it out it was derivitive. Getting tired but he had a twist of added arrogence,

Now, Its just tired shtick. No harm, but the refs had to flag it. Stupid move given the game situation , but the adrenilin high will override sense sometimes.

Geez, its not like he paid some thugs to shoot at somebody at a strip club.

Bottom line is if the re-tard had any football sense he would've laid down in bounds to keep the clock rolling. He never should have been on the sidelines if he had a clue. But then again, this is a QB who worries about a super bowl tie. And I'm an Eagles fan.

:bag: , because of Donovan and his dorkyness and general cluelessness.

The first thing I thought of when he did it was the hilarious reactions of all the people that will get bent out of shape about it.

Somebody with a clue, the guy has no football smarts. He is a good qb just not a champion. He belongs in Philly. Philly fans are the biggest fair weather fans around and act like a bunch of idiots to the point you can't even take a kid to the games and God forbid you are a fan of another team. CLASSLESS. You all deserve the ZERO TITLES you will have in 3 weeks. CLASSLESS!!

If that is all you have to hang your hat on that is sad. You killed the Boys I get that. Oyeah look at that avatar I get it now, what he is your hero WTH did that clown ever do for your oh so great Eagles. I know you got some playoff wins. WOW Must suck to really have nothing to hang your hat on but an over weight HC or a choking qb with nothing but some meaningless playoff wins and no titles.

 at a Dallas fan saying any other team's QB chokes.

 Says the guy who's team has Tony Romo at quarterback!! Bwahahahaha.Oh, and sorry...you're the one coming off as CLASSLESS (nice touch with the capitals. Really drives your point home.). The Eagles have just gone on 7-1 run, kicked your team's ### 44-6, and have won two straight road playoff games (including one against the defending champions). In a desperate attempt to somehow dimish all of hat, you want to focus on a thing as irrelevent and miniscule as McNabb's spontaneous moment on the sideline. It was a stupid and pointless as TO's magic marker, Chad Johnson's hall of fame jacket, and Jor Horn's cell phone. Nothing more. Nothing less. To insinuate that it somehow means McNabb, the Eagles organization, and all Eagle fans are classless, just makes yoiu sound like a whiny little cun, oops, I mean, baby.

Oh, did I mention 44-6?

Not really. He turned it up and made it 3rd and 1, if he would have tried to lay down in bounds he wouldnt have been able to get that close to the first down. Of course, the point was made moot when it was made 3rd and 16 by the unsportsmanlike.

eh, what´s the big deal... I can see how some would think it was ¨showing up¨ the giants. I don´t agree, but I can see it.

I think he was just having fun. he´ll probably get fined $10,000 by the league for using a prop.

I am put in mind of the saying that it is better to remain silent and be thought an idiot than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt.

Actually I expect that the grapes that taste so sour to the Cowboy fans stepping forward in a negative fashion in this thread taste pretty sweet to Eagles fans right about now.

Yup. Every anti-Eagles thread that I see posted by a Cowboy fan makes 44-6 seem even better. I love that it seems to still hurt real bad.

Whatever clown. There isn't a more plastic & fraudulent fanbase in the NFL than Dallas. The parade of losers streaming out of the stadium prior to the closing ceremonies of Texas stadium was classic. Terrible, cosmetically-botched, turd-collecting owner & a cockroach fanbase. They're crawling all over when times are good but can't be found when things aren't.Oh I forgot

BTW Donovan was just calling PacMan to find out what LIKEDED meant.

Or Mustang Man's mom. That would explain his anger, I suppose.

I'm a Redskins fan and I thought it was hillarious. Heck, even that Giants guy ( don't know if he was a coach or what) right by the phone was trying to stop himself from laughing.

What I found offensive was the reaction of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. I don't think it's possible to have 2 bigger losers in the broadcast booth. Then again, these are the same 2 jagoffs who acted like Randy Moss burned the American flag in the endzone in when he did the faux mooning during the playoff game at Lambeau a few years back.

Well, you have to remmember Aikman from his playing days. He was the most unemotional, robotic player I ever saw. Very close-to-the-vest and conservative. He was also unflappable and great, so I'm not dissing on him. He's like the boy in your class who watches the students put a thumbtack on the teacher's chair and while everyone else is laughing, he's running to the office to tell.

I personally thought it was dumb and made no sense, but after the game, I was hoping he'd explain it (if asked) by saying something like "I was just calling T.O. at home to see how he was doing." (with a big #### smile on his face of course).

You can see where I live, so I am a DIE HARD CB FAN, but I still laughed at the McNabb phone gig. Its the playoffs, in a game that they deservedly won, and he has a right to celebrate a little. All these ditching, crying, FELLOW fans should stop it. I loved the Troy A. era, and if the DFW God would have ran out of bounds with the game in hand and picked up the opponents phone for 1 second, we would have ALL loved it!! To know that Troy could for once act like he was having a good time would have been a great "1 TIME" feeling. The more we Cowboy fans whine and cry, the worse it looks. Obviously we all hate the other NFC East teams, but would trade spots in a minute and applaude Romo if he had done the same thing. It wasnt a classless act, but pretty darn funny to this football fan....ETA: And lets please stop calling other coaches overweight with "choking" QB's- You just defined our team!

I really hope this isn't a reflection of what our society has become. Massive over-reaction to such an inane, short-lived, and meaningless thing. It was a spur of the moment thing, it was funny (I thought, at least), and now it's over. Move on, get over yourselves, and find something that matters to worry about.

Ok, I'll get off my soap box now. Peace.

Again, I'm record as saying he shouldn't have done it; and he said as much after the game. That said, considering Gilbride was cracking a smile over it and he was right there, does it really make sense for fans to bemoan this much?
This is a silly comment. Who cares what Gilbride thought of it? So if Gilbride was pissed you would have said it was dumb?

Well perhaps it is showing that society has become a bunch of people who show no class and sportsmanship; sounds like you like it that way? I for don't respect standing over a guy after a hit, dance in someone's face or whatever low class act is performed. Common courtesy and respect is lost on people. Now I don't think McNabb thought it through, but he is a bag of rocks who is the best of the 2nd tier of QB's.

I would think Eagles fans should be the people most upset about this, not because it was terribly mean-spirited or offensive - it wasn't IMO - but because it was mind-numbingly stupid from a football standpoint. It was a twelve point game with three minutes remaining, not exactly out of reach. And McNabb's action took them from a third and 1 at their own forty - a very makeable first down where one first down pretty much salts the game away - to a third and sixteen at their own twenty five. Yeah it turned it out to be "meaningless" in the grand scheme, but that doesn't excuse how moronic it was at the time.

Agreed. This wasn't the action of a Mensa candidate by any means. But it was a fleeting thing that was comical, though the consequences were not well considered. Then again, maybe he didn't think a penalty would ensue. Either way, really not much to get into an uproar over.

That's a pretty big stretch, comparing what McNabb did to taunting an injured player or any other classless act. I also don't care for that. However, I still think the NFL should be fun and entertaining and I thought what he did was both. It wasn't in anyone's face, nor was it taunting or classless. The phone was there, he saw it, and he picked it up. I laughed. Others, apparently, were incensed. Again, regardless, not really much to get upset over. Just my 2 cents

If he didn't know that using a prop like a phone is pretty much an automatic penalty that might be worse than not knowing there could be a tie.

So the consensus is that this was an emotional spur-of-the moment thing, probably not too smart but not that big a deal.

But what if some players on the Giants sidelines reacted emotionally in a not too smart spur-of-the moment way and pushed him into a bench or something, etc...and he got hurt? And couldn't play next week? THEN what?

If you really want to examine it, it was dumb to run out of bounds in the first place; only compounded by him picking up the penalty. I'm an Eagles fan & I actually found Aikman's comments more funny than the act itself. It's nice to see a national analyst not kiss McNabb's ### & call him on the carpet when he does, or says something stupid. He's a lot more objective & geniune than most of the other ex players that pollute the various pre/post game shows; particularly the utter garbage NFL network puts out.
